The gratification they get is that they upset you, they want to believe that they ruined your day. And the more people write threads about how upset they are with scammers it gives them motivation to keep doing it. They could be 12 year old boys just wanting to raise hell with their boring life. Don't give them ammunition to upset you.

He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1974 and will be buried Friday in a veterans cemetery.
I am thankful that he is no longer in pain but I am also greedy and hope that once in awhile his spirit will let me know that he is still hanging around.

I mentioned quite sometime ago that my son-in-law was ill with cancer. I thought I would let those of you who often asked how is he doing the sad news of yesterday.
After a long battle with cancer my beloved son-in-law died at home Sunday, Oct. 29th.
He was more than a son-in-law, he was a very, very good friend that I will deeply miss.
Now my young daughter is a widow. We both grieve for a man who enlightened our lives with love, kindness and laughter.
Ralph Yarl wasn't drunk when he knocked on the door of 85 year old Andrew Lester. In an interview it was revealed that Mr. Lester just didn't like black people. Obviously this was racially motivated and now this beautiful young boy who had everything to live for was gunned down the same as someone who was there to rob him. All Ralph did was knock on the wrong door.

My rule to live by is very simple Track. I do not lie. My father bred it into me when I was a very young child not to lie to him. The way he said it scared me because I had reason to be afraid of him anyway. It's very hard to look someone in the eye and tell them the truth even though you know it will hurt their feelings but I think I respect them more by being truthful. Most people tell little white lies that don't hurt anyone. If a friend asks does she look fat in those jeans I will say no but it might not be the truth. There is a fine line when to lie and when not. Don't ever lie to a judge or the FBI.
It has a sad ending as you would expect but there is so much love in The Art Of Racing In The Rain you won't feel as much pain at the ending because this movie has so much more context than Marley & Me. Enzo is named after Enzo Ferrari who made those very expensive cars which also adds some interesting moments in the movie. Kevin Costner is my favorite movie star and he is the voice of Enzo which adds a lot of comedy to the movie. The movie is a love story with Enzo and a woman he just happens to meet on the street. You won't be disappointed Merc if you watch this movie.
"The Art of Racing In The Rain" was directed by the same person who made Marley & Me. This movie got to me every time I watch it even though I know what happens.
Thank you for your good wishes Karl. The bad storm turned out to be just a bad storm and not a hurricane. That was very kind of you to remember my son-in-law. He gets scans every six months. Sometimes they are good that the cancer cell hasn't grown other times the scan says a new cell has appeared and he goes on a new cocktail of chemo. And yet he is a very strong man and does his best to be active.
I cried this morning watching the news about fires in Hawaii that burned the town of Lahaina, island of Maui to the ground. The town is gone, homes are gone except those that were built with concrete blocks. So far 56 people have died from the fire. People jumped into the ocean to escape the flames.
The Humane Society has rescued the animals that were left behind and now need food and medical supplies for them. CS doesn't allow me to post a website where donations can be made for the animals but I'll just say there is a way to donate through Amazon. They will send the items I bought from the Wish List directly to the Humane Society for the area that was affected.
I still worry about my daughter because she doesn't let anything stop her. She walks the trails by herself and I keep telling her that she learned in Girl Scouts to always travel with a buddy. But she doesn't listen and gets angry because I nag her about it. She's 58 years old but she is still my kid.
I agree that the Edmund Fitzgerald is probably the saddest song ever.
However, this song is about an emotion that no one would understand except the person who feels it. The Little Prince, a character in a classic book said, "It is only in the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye" meaning that emotions don't have to make logical sense. Therefore, it is a very sad song.
