I lived in several towns in Morris County for many years and Randolph is the snobbiest town of all towns in Morris County. They aren't necessarily "commies" but they are rich people. There is also a high population of Jewish people and an overwhelming amount of lawyers who might be the cause of this.

My thought is you don't need a school calendar to know what holiday it is. If the school calendar says "day off" then that is just to let parents know that there is no school that day.

Your home calendar or phone calendar will call the holidays out by name.

RE: What I notice about date sites.

When I joined CS in 2006 it was a dating site. A way to meet men and women without hanging out in a bar.

The Personal Ads in newspapers was known as The Lonely Hearts Club and people answered ads for a blind date. I don't think Personal Ads in newspapers exists any longer.

CS is the only social site I am on. When I joined I was looking for a relationship and in the 15 years that I've been here I have met three men in person and one online for a lengthy relationship.

I don't find fault with social sites if they are used to make you happy/content with your life. It is when you have expectations of a wedding that hearts are broken.

If you are looking only for a one night stand and no one gets hurt by it then it is no ones business how you find someone to make you happy even if it's just for one night.....or one hour

Horrific lightening and thunderstorm here at 3 pm today.

There was a crack of thunderstorm that made me nearly jump out of my chair.

Right after that the lightening came right through the window that I was sitting near.

Cable went out and it's still not back online.

Heavy rainstorms here everyday and more projected for next week.

I can barely walk from getting the second Covid shot yesterday due to my body being in a lot of pain especially my hips. I didn't have any side affects from the first shot.

Blue Angels...........fascinating. Unbelievable how confident those pilots are that they will do the stunt one more time and be able to go home for dinner.

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Last Memorial Day, new traditions were born because the pandemic forced the cancelations of parades and ceremonies.

“Taps Across America,” created by CBS News On The Road correspondent Steve Hartman, was one of them.

Thousands of musicians answered Hartman’s call last year, to play Taps at 3 p.m. sharp.

Once again, he’s asking musicians to sound those 24 notes Monday, so those who hear them will stop and remember our fallen heroes

The idea came from a story Hartman did in 2012 about a man from Washington state who plays Taps every day at sunset.
