Thank you Butterfly. You understand the point I am trying to make. Perhaps the cashier is under stress and worrying about her 91 year old mother. I still think she could have handled the situation better.

Good grief people. I don't EXPECT a cashier to pack my groceries. Just as Tom and someone else said it is common store practice in the United States for the casher to pack our groceries.

I don't know why the intelligent people on CS don't understand that my thread is not about me wanting her to pack my groceries. It IS about her refusal to pack them in a reusable grocery bag versus a plastic bag that the store provides which is a bag that will go in the landfill and be there for 500 years.

It's about the cashiers attitude KB. She is worried about bringing home Covid germs to her 91 year old mother and I understand her concern. However, she should be wearing gloves but she wasn't. All day she touches groceries that customers put on the conveyer belt. She rings up the groceries and puts them in a plastic bag that the store provides yet she wouldn't put them in a reusable bag.

The purpose of using a reusable grocery bag is to help to save the environment. Oceans are full of plastic garbage that people throw into the ocean from their boats. The fish, turtles, etc. get caught in tangles of the bags and fishing lines.

Styrofoam is non-biodegradable and non-recyclable. According to Washington University, Styrofoam takes 500 years to decompose; it cannot be recycled, so the Styrofoam cups dumped in landfills are there to stay.

It takes 500 (or more) years for a plastic bag and styrofoam to degrade in a landfill. They don't break down completely but instead photo-degrade, becoming microplastics that absorb toxins and continue to pollute the environment.

Let's say you have to do a huge grocery shopping. You wind up with 15+ plastic bags of groceries. When you get home you take the groceries out of the bags throw the bags into the kitchen trash can. When your kitchen trash can is full you take it out to the large can in your driveway. A couple days later the garbage truck dumps your trash into the truck. The truck goes up and down the street doing that for every resident on that street. That process happens all over America. That is a lot of plastic bags that will fill the dump and won't be broken down for 500 years. As the bags breakdown toxins are released into the ground which eventually lead to your backyard or the farmer who grows produce that you will buy and put into a plastic bag.

If you use a reusable grocery bag over and over you never have to be concerned about toxins being released into the ground while they are in the landfill. You never have to be concerned about wildlife, fish or even whales being caught in a plastic bag.

And I wouldn't have had a nasty interaction from this cashier.

I think you are missing the point Lilli. The point I am making is the cashier didn't want to put groceries that I touched into a reusable grocery bag but she WOULD put them in a plastic bag from the store.

I prefer to bag my own groceries but the grocery stores in my area don't have a space for customers to be able to do that.

I agree Track. It just didn't make sense that she would touch all the items I touched and would put them in a store plastic bag but wouldn't put them in the reusable bag that I brought into the store.

Yesterday I was in the grocery store. I took all the items out of my basket and put them on the conveyor belt for the cashier to pack into the bag that I brought with me so I don't have to use store plastic bags.

I'm in this store 2 or 3 times a week but have never gone to this particular cashier.

She said "I can't pack your items in a bag that came from outside because I have a 91 year old mother and I can't take a chance with Covid". She said "I will pack them in a store plastic bag". WOT !

I said "You are willing to pack everything that I touched into a plastic bag from the store even though you don't have gloves on. That doesn't make sense." She's still glaring at me.

She looked at me as if I had the gall to ask her to pack the groceries in my bag. So I said I will do the packing which I don't mind doing because I don't want certain things crushed but there wasn't a place for me to balance the bag so I struggled. I paid her and off I went to the store manager.

When I told the manager what happened she said when Covid started they had a policy not to use bags that come from outside the store but now it's up to each cashier if they want to stick to that policy.

I shop in four different grocery stores and I have never been told that the cashier isn't allowed to use my grocery bag that I brought into the store.

Did this woman have a bug up her @#$%^&*?
Did she get out of the wrong side of the bed?
Did she just want to be obstinate towards me?

Do You Have An Air Fryer?

Have you cooked a thick steak in the air fryer? I've heard that air fryer does an amazing job.

I buy rotisserie chickens all the time in the supermarket. Sometimes they are good sometimes not.
I think I'll inject a chicken with lemon juice, spice it up and hope that all the skin gets browned. Definitely have to spray with olive oil.

I am very happy to receive a friendly reply from you Rob. Tomorrow I'm making a pork roast in the air fryer. I won't need to add a spray of oil since it has it's own fat. I'll just season it with garlic powder and a seasoned salt that I use for everything called Herbamare.

I have an air fryer made by Cosori and I love cooking with it. Cooking with the air fryer saves my oven from getting splatters from fatty food such as chicken wings, pork chops, bacon. You can cook almost anything in it. One day this week I will be using the air fryer to make a steak. I've read reviews from others who have purchased this air fryer and all were positive.

This is my kitchen gadget and yes it is the color that I have. It's not bright red, more of a cherry red.

I have never done it before the first date because I made sure to meet someone in public.
If he said something during that first date that made me uncomfortable I would then do a background check.
You have to assume that they are checking you out.
I wish I had done a checkup on several guys but that's over and done with a long time ago.

I'm in agreement with you on that. Vaccines usually take at least 10 years to make. There is no way to know if Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson is giving us a placebo or some other junk. Pharmaceutical companies on the whole are not to be trusted. I never got a flu shot so I'm not getting a Covid shot.

People are saying Biden should override debt collectors. Why should he? Men/women who are behind on child support payments...... people who are thousands behind on credit cards..... people who haven't paid their taxes in years should not get a stimulus check. So many families are suffering after job loss, home loss and now they can barely buy food for their families. Those who are trying to stiff others out of what they owe should not get a stimulus payment. I was wondering why I didn't get my stimulus check and now I know. If the time delay is helping the right people to get their check then I'm all for it.

Yes, very talented. More than likely it was a little girl who drew those images of the sun, Easter Bunny saying hi, a girl, flower, cat, fish and she wrote the word yes.

What I also noticed is that she was taught not to invade your part of the driveway. She drew her images on her side where her house is.

I agree with you Merc. I've had blood clots and it wasn't pleasant when I had to go in the hospital to have blood drawn every four hours for five days to see if the medication was working. After awhile my veins went flat and it was painful to push the needle in

Tara, if I may make a suggestion......you said the next step will be a police report. I'm not being disrespectful to you but are you going to wait to file a police report after he attacks you? It's VERY important to get that report done now with copies of email/texts or any other way he contacted you.
