And while our economy may be in a bad mess of our own doing I can go to France and Germany and spend my euro and it is worth as much as the Euro of a richer country.
I voted YES last time, and will happily vote YES again. It has little or nothing to do with our Government's failings. I am pro-EU and see whole-hearted membership in a strong Union as Ireland's best hope of influencing our fate on any issue important to us.
It is a bit strong but many of the "no" reasons are daft. Even some of the principled "anti-Europe-centralisation" No voters think the reasons being advanced by others to vote no are crazy.
Does it indeed.....we were told a load of lies by vested interests to encourage us to vote no the last time. We were not ignored. Europe was just (rightly) horrified by our selfishness and dismayed by our daft reasons for it.
Lots of people in this country seem to think that our prosperity came from ourselves alone. Without EU membership we would still be stuck in the 1950s
