i like the aussie system of return-to-sender. All boats with passengers should give an advance notice to the European port they want to land in. Failure to do so means imprisonment of the captain and taking of the boat for welfare in other countries. The passengers should be dropped off/returned in the departure port.
Asylum seekers should give a warning prior to entering the country. If the seeker didn't try to contact the country he is heading for by explaining his route then he failed the visa test.
I love this topic. I can not support life imprisonment as an answer to crimes. There is simply not much to gain except being 'more human' to the condemned measured in instances.
So I'm open to debate, but i do think permanent removing of dangerous people out of society should be left open as an option.
maybe next best option is to dump them in the woods of alaska with some equipment to life alone but without the benefits of being part of a society. must make good tv too. maybe igloos in antartica? death penalty and imprisonment are used wrongly. imho. i ve seen people come as worse out of time of prison.
but death penalty don't work.
I believe in the offer of free euthanasia to those offered the death penalty or lifelong. I believe in death penalty for people make fraud around the millions and losing peoples life savings. people making fraud for those amounts include dictators and drugsbarons. I could accept Saddam Hussain being hung for stealing millions than a military poisoning.
no it is not sacred. it is legally organised. it is a contract. it involves a few legal consequences for both parties and products of those parties. it affects how the states view your understanding and how third parties need to see it in case of inheritance and such. Both the both parties are quite free to go against it. And that contract can be annulled quite easily. The bond between child and parent is a sacred thing involving universal human rights and such.

The idea of ransoms should be generally solved and not individually.
For instance there are more types for hostages. Trespassers and kidnapped and soldiers. A journalist running in an occupied land is a trespasser. because IS doesn't listen to international humanism law. A person taken from a crashed plane is a prisoner. He should be court-martial by IS. A kidnapped person is simply murder and you should treat them like that.
The best way to solve is to treat that group of bandits like a country and to bureaucrate their asses off.
So state to the people they are accomplices in murder. state that their organisation did not make any agreements and that they will be hunted and killed in any territory they are and provide them with a way to turn themselves in.
So Jordan should hold a court to blame the killers of the soldier. Identify whoever they can and hunt them down. Killing people currently in their prisons is barbaric as they had nothing to do with the burning itself.
