However I don't like opening up our social system to people that don't understand it. Too many coming in without eduction, without knowledge of basic rights, without knowledge of solidarity. But i share the opinion that citizenship is not for everybody. Locals and immigrants should do an exam/test before being a part of it.
the USA. They got raised with nuclear bombs as acceptable. They bombed with nuclear weapons(Japan) and still see it as the heroic solution to end that war. It would be in my top10 single horrible acts of humankind so far. The uranium bombshells used in Iraq and Kosovo wars are already chemical-nuclear warfare leaving pollution for further generations and they still use those shells. They have more inventory than other countries, in various countries(incl Belgium), and missiles are armed. and a higher military spending means higher moving around rate. Although the nuclear ready-to-act facilities are in a neglected state. They have many conflicts worldwide. They too have religious freaks who believe in end times and devil presidents. and there is a lot of money to finance projects.
we all get scared when becoming a parents and most of us don't have a big rainbow over our head illuminating all the positive.
search for a nearby women center, maybe have a chat in the clinic. there are some people that can guide you a way, and handle these things professionally you are certainly not alone !

So god exists for some people because it affects some peoples actions and thoughts. To compare it with a paranoid person hiding behind a corner because he feels followed. The reason he hides is 'real' and the effects are visible. If he wouldn't actively hide it would be harder to notice there is something 'real' for that person. If he wouldn't be paranoid or feel followed, we end up discussing in the great nothing again.
Tell that according to folklore. Jesus had a rough day and let himself to be murdered. But knew he would ressurect and go to rule heaven. Not really heroic just a deal he organised and planned himself. Especially with the power to heal wounds
most of the bible is wrong. either historical, scientific or morally. I would count this as evidence. the word of god is not true.
by the way, is it relevant if a god exists because he doesn't manifest or influence. Either all is planned and worrying about a celestial being is irrelevant. (unless for greed and self-preservation)
Like i recently projected about hell. A kid with a magnifying glass burning us ants is not ethical. The ants can build alters, nothing changes, the ants can live in chastity it would not burn them any less. But at least you can count the burned ant-meat as evidence ;-)
Some religious people here are talking about a being of which you can't see or expect any change, but you have to do quite a lot for him to make him happy, so other people and a book tell you. And spread to other people that they need to do a lot.
The Buddhists deserve more respect. the gods are there, but no sense in praying to them. just sit, try to think of nothing, want nothing and then you'll be free. :-D
So we should be a non-believer just aiming to do the least damage to ourself and therefor believe? That is a crappy way to get more followers.
I can't follow anyone that will send people to hell for eternity or even for a second. There is nothing almighty with burning ants with a magnifying glass and sunlight. Ants try to save themselves or their eggs.
already millions died before hearing the gospel, before your gospel existed. And currently the population of North Korea don't hear a gospel. they get a free ticket to heaven or straight down to hell? at what age do you get god's idea of free will?
Maybe you should find a tribe in the Amazon woods and take over their religion as the one and only? currently you are following the traveling stories of some conquered part of the Roman empire, that have been rewritten/translated in the centuries afterwards. Not even the Romans of those centuries cared to write it down, and they liked writing and arts.
Some of the people here believe there is an almighty being watching your every move and tallying how many times you touch yourself or curse. for some great plan beyond your knowledge or existence. For the same plan all those dinosaurs had to die in a meteor blast. and African children are starving for the same plan. And for that plan the Universe as we know it is moving and turning and galaxies colliding. All would seem like a waste of energy in my book.
I believe i(my lifetime) will never 'encounter' alien life. As space travel seems to be a heavy endeavor that needs planning and aiming and we simply don't exist long enough to be noticed light years away and we can't get far ourselves. But statistically it can be deduced somewhere out there it exist, and more life will start after us and that some life started billion years before us and maybe that is extinct already. Statistically i also believe that either we explore space beyond our solar-system or get extinct on this rock.
We are all star dust. water gets transported by meteors. Heat/energy and transport is legio and the base materials are found in more places. Even the oxygen on earth is a byproduct of using CO 2 for energy storage.
I currently don't have a love, but i would prefer to find her in my bed. Unless she is saving the world somewhere. Finding her in the kitchen can also be great, unless i'm the one cooking that day.
