Talk is far better than text... you can add emotion and feeling... text is just something to use when talk is not possible or to let someone know u are thinking about them... until you can talk.
It would depend on the person and the severity of the depression... If it was under control and the person in control, then no.
If the person was not able to get sorted, then yes. I know someone who has bi-polar disorder, it is a nightmare to get the meds right in order to keep him on track. He just recently married and his new wife is committed to helping him stay well..
So... if there is love, all things can be sorted!!
And sometimes someone will almost ambush you with IM's and there is not a thing you can do.
If you want to keep the IM function active, I've found that you can tick the do not agree to the terms box and that will turn off that particular IM without eliminating receiving IMs from someone you would like to chat wth...
