RE: What is your most treassured possession(s)?

My gongs and Tibetan bowls, not because of their monetary value (which is not exactly small!) but because they are irreplaceable. If I buy another it will never be the same as the one I lost. The makers of these instruments know this.

There is something (someone,in fact)else that I treasure, but they are not a possession, and never will be.They are with me because they want to be......

And I found her.......

RE: Whats the most exciting part of a new relationship ?

When you both are convinced that everything in your life that has happened to you previously(both positive and negative) has been a learning curve and a process of growth, and that the universe has finally brought you together.

RE: Matches

In response to:

I agree entirely

RE: playlist - song(s) of the day

Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, master of the bansuri (Indian bamboo flute) Superb.

Can't listen to western music now...it just doesn't do it for me anymore.

Throw out those chill-out CDs with the dolphins on the cover, this is the real deal.... wink

RE: would you

and thankfully we cannot read the script in advance!

RE: would you

But even a 10 year age gap could eventually be disquieting.........

After all, when I am 110,she would only be 100,and may feel like looking for a younger man.

Your Guest List For Christmas Dinner.....

Whew...I'm back..To me it is a miracle to even have internet 800 metres up a mountain, but given 5 continuous days of rain, which fell,on this occasion, not on the plain in Spain but on our mountain,no surprise that the internet connection gave up! all seems well now though, and glad to see you all enjoying the table in my absence

Merry yuletide one and all!!

drinking cheering christmas happy reindeer

RE: csaholics support group meet here

I am 2 1/2 thousand feet up a mountain in Spain, and it has been raining non-stop for four days...yes I am addicted!

Your Guest List For Christmas Dinner.....

Imagine,if you will, that you could invite people on this site for dinner...

Your table seats only six, therefore five guests only may be invited.

But who? And why.........

Suppose I'd better go first grin

1) Smoky....Guaranteed to create a humourous ambience, and we can pollute the air together with our habit. And you can bring the dishwasher!

2)As a foil to the wit and verbal dexterity of Smoky, and to even up the male/female ratio....Rusty Knight.

3)As a thank you for having the idea in the first place, and then creating this site, the unknown person who brought us all here in the first place.THANK YOU!

4)Because she went through a hard time recently...Brunette. Apres manger a soothing "gong bath" would be offered.Don't panic, you don't have to take off your clothes even. You just lie under the gongs whilst I play veeeeery softly.

5) Last but not least, because I appreciate beauty and intelligence at my table....Flower of the Snow.

There you have it.

Sorry lagoona I love your wit too and it was a close run thing, but there are only five chairs....Unless you want to sit on Rusty's knee.....
rolling on the floor laughing

'Tis the solstice!

This is a day to celebrate! The solstice. Not,for me, for druidic or any other pagan reasons.

Merely the fact that the sun is today over the Tropic of Capricorn and,due to the tilt of the earth, now starts it's journey back north.Longer days and more warmth!

RE: Why do seemingly "normal" people like to hunt?

In France they wear camoflague gear with a high visibilty flourescent jacket....so they can be seen laugh

RE: Why do seemingly "normal" people like to hunt?

Tried to join in the poll, voting none of the above ok explain but there is no apparent way of explaining,so will do it here.Could it have something to do with machoism? Not seen a lot of female type lady persons on the business end of a gun,I have to say.....

RE: Why do seemingly "normal" people like to hunt?

Having lived in France for many years "dans la campagne" and now living in Spain "en el campo" and not being a hunter I feel qualified to launch myself into this thread. Why do I want to live a hermit's existence in the country?,........because I want to see wild creatures from time to time! Do I? I hear a lot of "bang bang" especially on a weekend (I really am starting to think that wild creatures are starting to realise what a weekend is) but do I see nature in the raw? No. I hope you people who buy your camoflague gear in the supermarket because it is "the thing to do" enjoy the fruits of your hunt....but is a sparrow a satisfying meal? Because there ain't much left around here to hunt.....The theory now is...if it moves shoot it.Which includes, occasionally, other hunters applause

RE: Thankyou John

I stand corrected...and thank youwave

RE: What does a man wholly smitten do about distance...

From the Dalai Lama....."Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon"yay

RE: Thankyou John

"Life is what happens when you're planning something else"

Not a song lyric, but a quote from the aforementioned.

and sooooo true.....

RE: December 21, 2012

I have just finished reading Apocalypse 2012 by Lawrence E Joseph. He pulls together many strands from Maya to science to religion....all pointing to the same thing.

Never mind "just do it" do it now!

RE: women, what type of perfume is your favorite ?

Not perfume....Oil.Doesn't sting, and lasts longer. If you can find it amber from India is a rock/crystal.Wet it and rub it through your hair/on your body when wet.But sssssh! it's a secret

RE: women, what type of perfume is your favorite ?

Male or female, maybe you are all missing the point here....Wear what they like, not what you like........

It's commonly known as letting go of the ego,and giving pleasure to the other. Ask them...

RE: who's the most travelled person on connectingsingles ?..how many countries have you been to ?..and

I really have no idea.23 years in the Merchant Navy followed by about 7 years touring around in camping cars must amount to a phenominal amount of miles/kilometers.Nice to put down roots now tho'....

RE: Your personal mantra

"Life is lived forwards but understood backwards"

In view of FOS' thread on copyright I will quote the author....Douglas Harding,he wrote On Having no Head.Zen and the discovery of the obvious.

I had this written in letters one foot high on the back of my last camper car as I toured around Europe for three years.Hopefully it gave the people following behind me something to think about laugh

RE: " WHAT ARE YOU AFFRAID OF " has anybody got any interesting fears or phobias they want to talk about

With you on that one Kissmedeeply.Haven't flown for 20 years. Not that I am frightened of flying.....I am frightened of crashing.

RE: Christmas - a time for joy or a time for the blues?

Father to young son....

"you know, when I was your age,all I got for christmas was an apple and an orange"

"wow,Dad,you got a computer AND a mobile phone!" laugh

RE: HEALING ROOM

What a pity there is no way to add sound files here....at least to the start of the thread.

RE: Explain your CS name

At the risk of stating the obvious,I play erm.....gongs. And also

Morchang
Ncass
Dan moi
Kou Xiang
Khomus

amongst other things.........

RE: Solve mysteries!

A small correction...

Cymatics is what I meant to write, not cyamics.I'm crap at remembering scientific terms. I just do what I doblushing

RE: Solve mysteries!

Yes FOS the gong vibrates with a rich spectrum of frequencies, and every human organ has it's own resonant frequency also the body consists of more than 80% water so is easily vibrated....the science behind it is called cyamics

RE: Solve mysteries!

Or even soft warm and gentle gongs.......

RE: Decline of the church

I am an overtone singer. When I lived in France I discovered two good things about French churches

A) They were always empty
B) They were always open

Here in Spain it is different

A) They are always empty
B) They are always locked (maybe that's why they are empty....)

I find it such a pity that these places which were built to have a fantastic acoustic are not available to be used as intended.Singing overtones in such places is an amazing experience. For me,spiritual, not religious. I even asked some villagers if it would be possible to speak to the priest about this, but was told not to bother as he would regard what I do as some kind of evil energy....

RE: Is anyone on this site....................

So the party turned into a wake. Cyberhippy,if you were travelling on the friday night and missed the France /Argentina game you missed one of the best if not the best game of the whole tournament. If it had been a boxing match, the ref would have stopped the fight, methinks.
