Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum: Located on the Hudson River at Pier 86 at West 46th Street and 12th Avenue. General admission is 33 dollars it includes the aircraft carrier, the space shuttle Enterprise and the cold war nuclear warhead submarine the Growler. When I went here once over 26 years ago there was no submarine or space shuttle and it was located a few blocks to the south on another pier. They also have a lot more planes on board on the top and in the hangar below. You can see the bridge, radio rooms and radar rooms. I think you can now see the engine rooms which were not open when I went there.

New York Transit Museum Gallery Annex in Grand Central Terminal: On the West side of main concourse in Grand Central Terminal is a room that has pictures and ceramic figure heads of some of the nicer NYC Subway stations, a old ferry terminal that was turned into a shopping center, restored bridges and train stations. It takes about an hour to read all the plaques at each picture. The museum annex is free but they do have a donation box at the entrance and exit. They also have a store that sells subway and train related goods. At Christmas time they have a toy train exhibit.

American Museum of Natural History New York: Located on 79th Street and Central Park West (8th Avenue) across the street from Central Park and North of the Dakota Building where Beatle John Lennon lived. In Central Park there is a memorial to him called strawberry fields across the street where he was shot dead. In the museum you will see many dioramas, dinosaur skeletons, stuffed animals, a big blue whale hanging from a ceiling, and the star of india in the gem and minerals hall. I have been here 3 times and the last time was over 26 years ago. They have a new exhibit about space that was not here 26 years ago. General Admission is 22 dollars but you can give less. They no longer have free days. There are a few other attractions within that cost more. The filming of the movie Night at the Museum was done here. It was founded by President Teddy Roosevelt.

If you look out the window that is Central Park. The temple used to have a water filled moat surrounding it. Now you can actually go into the temple. That was not the case when I went there 26 years ago. I will have some more information on a few more NYC Museums later. I have been busy lately. Other NYC museums I have been to: American Museum of Natural History, The Guggenheim, Cooper Hewitt (Smithsonian Museum of Design), Intrepid Sea Air and Space Museum, 9/11 Museum and the New York Transit Museum Annex in Grand Central Terminal.

RE: Sell Me Your Country !

Here is a better more detailed video of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is 50 minutes long. Sad thing about this museum is that most people who live in NY and visit NYC don't even know it exists. Admission is 25 dollars but you can give less if you can't afford it. There are no free days. Some people call it the "Met" but most people think the "Met" is the Metropolitan Opera House in Lincoln Center.

RE: Sell Me Your Country !

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is probably the largest museum of art in the U.S. It represents about 5000 years of art in over 2 million square feet of space. It is located in Central Park (east side) on 5th Avenue at about 82nd Street. In one of its many wings is the entire Temple of Dendur from Egypt. In the Medieval Collection is a monstrance that has a glass vial in the middle that supposedly holds a tooth from Mary Magdalene. I have been here twice and both times the place was practically empty except for the lobby.

RE: Sell Me Your Country !

If you want to know anything about NYC (Museums and Landmarks) or the Mid Hudson River Valley (expensive mansions from the guilded age), let me know. I can also tell you a lot about Orlando, Florida (Disney World, Universal, and Sea World), Americas oldest European stettled city Saint Augustine, Florida. Denver, Colorado, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming and Northern Nevada.
