Thanks Lee, I can't always respond to everyone but I do try to.
My cats each have their own personalities too. They comfort me and make me laugh. My daughter has a pit bull who is the most loving, loveable and intelligent dog. He wouldn't hurt a fly. She had one who passed away 2 years ago and she was exactly the same as this pitbull. Pits get a bad reputation.
First of all, the child or children may not be aware of her actions in order to teach them right or wrong.
Also, whatever the community service is, as you mentioned, scrubbing floors, bathrooms, etc does not matter. It is the matter of the time she can't find proper and free daycare. I believe a judge or jurors would take pity on her and instead of punishing her, they would recommend and guide her on how to live better. Such as having a social worker to help her build better working skills to find a higher paying job and help/guide her with other resources to live a better life for herself and family.
You know the saying, "don't look down on someone, unless you are offering your hand to help them up", or the one "walk in someone else's shoes before you judge them".
Compassion and empathy might be a better lesson to teach her children.
Maybe not in the Northern states but some people suffer from severe depression, ptsd, etc and relies on their animal to help them live a more productive and happier life.
How would she have time to do community service if she already works two jobs. She might have to pay daycare expenses if she doesn't have a good support system, friends or family?
A single mother, working two jobs, steals a loaf of bread and some milk from a grocery store to feed her hungry (child or children) out of desperation, and it's the only time she had done this.
She survives paycheck to paycheck to pay for rent, prescriptions, utilities, gasoline, car insurance, clothing and toiletries. All of which are necessities and food with nothing left over for anything else.
If you were a juror or judge, would you find her guilty and prosecute her or would you find her innocent?
Never thought about it but I've seen other inmates shackled from the waist to their feet and they didn't require a walker and they didn't stumble either.
I'm not sure either way, but I'm leaning closer to thinking the people will see right through it, especially if the jurors followed the Bill Cosby case. 1÷1=2 type thing. Personally, as you mentioned, he wasn't using a walker until this whole thing started.
Innocent or guilty
Great idea!
