RE: what does your horoscope Say about you today

I mentioned I wondered how my friend Sarah was going to call my self-worth into question?

WELLLLL, she did call me at 4:28p to find out if I was showing up or not because she was at the theater. That turd, lol! I talked to her at 2p today as I was leaving work. We agreed to meet at 4:30p. I was at the light waiting to turn onto the road the theater was on when she called. I parked and walked in just as it turned 4:31p....

I guess that was technically partially right. roll eyes

30 Days of Night

For "Special" (whatever your whole name was...I can't find your original post confused).....

So, I saw the movie and without giving you any details of it: I give it a B-.

Liked:
Vicious Vamps
Grainy Effect they filmed it with
A few jump scenes even though I saw it coming
Good Plot line

Disliked:
Some of the camera work
Questionable acting in parts
Did not like the ending (too similar to another vamp movie I saw and didn't like it in that movie either)

Does This Happen To You?

I noticed today where his emails are in my inbox, that his picture is gone and it says: "Profile Unavailable" under where his pic was. When I click on the emails, it says on the right:

Profile not available
(hidden or cancelled)

Probably was a scammer.

RE: what does your horoscope Say about you today

Mine says: Your self-worth may be called into question as you look at your relationship to friends or family members. It's not that you aren't fully capable of doing what's required; it's just that you could be uncertain about what's expected of you today. Don't try to solve the mysteries now; instead, let the current events take their own course until you gain clarity about your role.

Hmmm, since the only friend or family member I'm seeing is my friend Sarah for the movies tonight...I wonder how she's going to call my self-worth into question.

I read them and occasionally they are right and other times not even close....Most are too general and can apply to anything....

MMA

LOL, since weigh-ins were 3 hrs before the fight, I doubt it. Unless he was jumping up and down at a fight the night before. rolling on the floor laughing Jumping up and down on an injured ankle....LOL

Off subject, but hey Ambrose, where's my trivia question? BTW I haven't seen the movie yet. Going to tonight (Was sick so had to skip it Friday); will email you tonight and let you know though!

RE: Tattoos.... nice? or not..

I have 2, but are easily hidden. The one exception is if I'm wearing a tank top (the one is on my right shoulder blade) and shorts (the other is on my right ankle).

I hate when guys get the full sleeves! I did see a girl at the fights last night who had 1 arm completely done and the back of her neck. For all I know she could have had her entire back done since the neck one disappeared under the collar of her T-shirt.

MMA

Thank Chris. All the fights my brothers are in are sanctioned fights and have pro contracts. They have to get blood work done, physicals and all kinds of jazz.

My youngest brother didn't get to fight last night at all. Very disappointing.

His opponent drove in from Colorado, weighed in, checked in and all that. My brother went in, did his weigh in and was told that his opponent wasn't going to fight. The kid "claims" he injured his ankle. I only say "claims" because a) he drove in and did all his checking in, signing off to fight and b) he was at the event all night walking around, even JUMPING up and down during an exciting fight. JUMPING? On an injured ankle???

RE: What's the single most unattractive thing you see in profiles?

LOL, I have a couple pics of me in the bar, but since thats probably a once a month thing and I'm not usually drunk, so those kind of pics on other people's profiles don't phase me.

The most unattractive thing I see is the "I'll tell you later" or "I'll fill this out later" (and the rest is BLANK) and add that to no pics. So you have don't know ANYTHING about them and no idea what they look like. Double no no in my book. How do they expect to meet anyone with a blank profile?

Does This Happen To You?

Apparently, I should list a SN on my post. Someone assumed I was talking about him when I was not.

RE: Dating new guy- help

oops, change "punch" to "bunch"...I'm tired

RE: Dating new guy- help

Just my opinion, but it sound like the insecurities are inside yourself, not with him....I base that off of the "I feel he is settling with me cause I am chubby". Unless, he implies something to that fact, I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe he likes bigger women; a lot of men do. smile

You say you have fun with him and he treats you well. Thats good. You love the feel of his arms around you. I think you hit the nail on the head when you ask "if its normal after being hurt". It's normal to project your own reservations about yourself (especially if your "hurt" stemmed from someone making you feel that way in the past) onto others. (I had that problem; an ex consistantly told me toward the end of our relationship that I was ugly. After awhile I believed it, but then after a punch of dates telling me the opposite, I finally relaxed)

Right now, enjoy your time with him, but be up front. Take it one date at a time. Maybe he won't be Mr. Right, but maybe he'll be a good friend that you can spend time with.

Just go with the flow and if it doesn't seem like your reservations are changing then say something like, "I enjoy spending time with you, but I don't see us together romantically. Do you think we can just be friends?"........

Does This Happen To You?

I might do that. Its just like he doesn't speak English and is translating it. Its bizarre.

Example of what I'm talking about, not from an email, is like..."To me understand you that worrys lots." instead of "I understand that worries you a lot"

Does This Happen To You?

I've been talking to a few of guys on here. Some of them do a lot of posts. One I see does do quite a few postings which are all clear and easy to understand.

When he sends emails to me, I sometimes have to read it several times to figure out what the heck he is saying. Grammar, spelling, wording, etc. I'm a little confused as I have read the scammers page and the wording in the emails are a lot like the ones on the scams page. Should I be worried as the forum postings are really clear and maybe he's just not reading what he's writing in the emails???

I deal with scams on a daily basis. Thats part of my job. Busting bad guys and dealing with Nigerian & China Fraud are part of it. Right now, its just talking; obviously no plans to meet and hasn't asked to communicate outside of here. Obviously, if I had gotten a clear hint it was a scam I'd report (I know a lot of the tricks from work even prior to reading the scammers page here), but right now it just seems like its two different people or he's typing and not reading it before sending.

I don't know....What do you think?

I'm about to head out to work and then staight off to my brother's MMA fight so I probably won't be back on tonight and I have a ton of emails to answer, but I'd love to hear your opinions on it.

RE: Why do people get

I had that experience with Vicodin. I was prescribed that for pain after surgery. I took it as prescribed, but the problem is how addicting it was. I didn't realize it until I stopped taking it for pain. By then my body was so used to it, I couldn't sleep unless I took one.

It made me a little goofy, then I slept for hours. My prescription ran out and I eventually got it out of my system so I could sleep without it, but until then I seriously could not sleep for days.

I refuse to get Vicodin when they prescribe it and always request something else. I rather be in pain than hooked on it.

RE: How long should you

Depends on the ER. My mom works in the ER as a secretary (the person that takes all your info and gets you logged in and gets yelled at when there's a huge wait) and sometimes there's no wait and other times, its hours. Plus, it would depend how many doctors are on staff at the time.

My last trip to the ER, which turned out to be massive upper respiratory infection, there was no wait to get in and I was in and out within 1 1/2 hours.

My uncle went and he was waiting for almost 14, but he lives in a very big city compared to mine.

RE: Know what I hate?

I used to respond and say, "No Thanks". I still do sometimes. My problem is when I do, I usually get back rude replies from the people I responded "No Thanks" to.

An example of this is when I was doing this on Yahoo, I received a reply from a guy way to old for me. I responded basically thanking him for his interest and said, "While I appreciate your reply, I'm interested in meeting someone in my age range who is interested in eventually starting a family someday. Upon viewing your profile, I do not show you share this interest and having my own children some day is very important to me".

I received back a very scathing reply about how I'm immature and self-centered and I don't deserve to find someone. Uhhhh right, because I know that I want to have kids? That makes me immature and self-centered? It went on and on about what kind of horrible person I am.

I'll still occasionally send back replies of no thanks, but not very often because of that reason.

MMA

Hey Everyone...

My baby bro is competing tomorrow (Saturday October 20) in a MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) tournament. Thats the stuff you see on UFC Fights.

This looks to be a tough one. I'm a little nervous as he is my baby brother.

The following Saturday, my other brother has a title fight in South Dakota against a guy thats ranked nationally.

Both my brothers are great fighters, but a little bit of extra luck can't hurt.....Can everyone send a little bit of luck my way?

RE: Does the fear of rejection hold you back?

I'm pretty good as far as rejection goes. Sometimes it hurts a little, but I don't let it bother me.

I would rather ask someone out if I'm interested than not. Yes, they could say no, but if I didn't I would be wondering if they would have said yes and were just waiting to see if I was interested

RE: Zell

Star...I'm sorry for your loss. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

RE: Psychopath

Olso,

You're describing my ex!!! rolling on the floor laughing Well, he is bipolar (honestly)

RE: honesty

Money is the last thing I look for in a guy. As long as they can pay their own bills, I could care less what they make...

I rather be barely scraping by and in love than rich and unhappy. Money doesn't buy happiness.

I'm happy with the things I got by my own hard work. I have nice clothes, jewelry, my own place, and a decent car. I got these things by working my butt off and putting in OT when it was offered. I enjoy being independent.

Let that girl meet her a rich sugar daddy with a big fat prenup. What does Kanye West say? "I ain't sayin' she a gold digger, but she ain't messin' with no broke broke..."

RE: Just got an

Congratulations!!!!

RE: would you be willing to move if you met the right one

I would, but it would be hard. I'd miss my family and friends, plus I have a job here that pays really well and I actually love it. However, if I met Mr. Wonderful, I think I'd have to move to be with him.

RE: Homelessness and Society...If any of you can ...

Something that happened to me about 8 months ago (It was February and freezing). I saw a guy on the road off the interstate on ramp. He had a sign, "Will work for food".

Not far from the onramp is a McDonald's. I had just gotten my bonus check so I wasn't tight on cash, so I ran through drivethru and picked up the guy a Quarter Pounder combo. I went back by and gave the guy the combo. He just kind of looked at it and said, "I rather have the money", but took it anyway. I handed him a five. He thanked me for that.

What confused me though...I handed him food, he told me "I rather have the money". Giving him the $5, got a thank you. Confuses me since I would think he'd be happy with what he got.

Oh well, I spent a whole $10 and did something good.

RE: what could make a good day better

A million dollars and a trip to Europe grin

Sorry, I haven't been able to use that line for a while. My boss used to say at the end of our one on one meetings (where we discuss how I did as far as stats, productivity, quality), "Is there anything I can get you to help you meet your goals?"

I always told him "A Million Dollars and a trip to Europe".

He then, later on after hearing that often, changed it to "Besides a million dollars and a trip to Europe, is there anything I can get you to help you meet your goals?"

So far I've requested: A million dollars. A trip to Europe. A Porsche. A 140 room mansion. The Universe. A raise to make my income be 6 figures. LOL.

Funny, he now words it, "Is there anything within my power and reason that I can get you to help meet your goals within the company?".

I can't think of a really smarty pants reply to that one.....See what happens when you stare at a comp too long??
