Pilipala, I use photobucket, but theres a few sites that you can get an image from. Just upload a pic on photobucket or another photo sharing site and put the "Direct Link" in the "IMG" box that pops up. It'll make it a little easier. Then TADA, you get this: ---- IMAGE REMOVED because photobucket.com no longer allows embedded images ----

I would more than likely to regret the things I didn't do. That's why I decided that this year is going to be all about me. I'm going to do a bunch of things that I've put off for one reason or another. I already took the first step in getting my eyes done (Lasik). That was something that I had been wanting to do for a while now, but put off 2 years ago to help support the "Hurricane's" (my ex) business. I have a list of things that I'm going to do and try to get as many on the list done as possible this year!
Testing, testing. Just had to try it out. Oooh, and I love the new "Preview" button. I don't know how many times, I've read what I'm going to post and then post it and find errors, lol. The mods rock on these new features!!!
I do, but only in the sense of friendship and even then I'm very leary. Years ago, I had a bad experience. I met this guy who's entire profile was full of lies, no pic. Everything he said was nothing like the person in his emails.
Looks wise, he said people compare him to "Tim McGraw" and that he was 5'11" about 170lbs.
Agreed to meet him and the guy that showed up was short, maybe 5'5" and close to 200lbs, and looked like Squiggy from Laverne & Shirley. Kept waiting for him to say "Hello!"
OK, nothing like I thought looks wise, but tried to put that behind me. Personality wise, he was BLAH, and then when he tried to pit me against a friend's friend later that night (went to a friend's birthday party at a club). That was IT!
I've been singing that song all the way home from my doctor's appointment. I had a brief followup appointment at 4:15 today to check out my eyes after my surgery.
From 20/80 to a wonderful 20/15!!!! He believes that once my eyes finish healing up that I may go up a bit to 20/10, but thats not a guarantee. Heck, I'm ecstatic with 20/15! Thats better than normal vision!
Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!!
"I can see clearly now the rain has gone. I can see all obstactles in my way. Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind. Its going to be a bright, bright, sunshiny day" ....
Nope. My dad was elbowed in the chest once for holding the door open for a lady and was going to let her walk through ahead of him. "I can do that myself", I believe her comment was. She was furious about it.
I am not a hard core feminist. I appreciate equal rights, but I do appreciate and look for good old fashion chilvary. I like having a guy open my car door for me or holding a door for me when entering a place. It makes me feel special.
Legalizing pot would probably be better for the economy. Think about how many people we've got in jail for possession of marijuana or growing marijuana. The numbers would surprise you. I know the Sioux City jail where my exboyfriend's mother worked was crammed full of them.
Those people are costing us money to support their dumb butts in jail, plus I'm sure that we're paying for their attorney fees. Think of the salary we pay the judge.
Simple solution: Make pot as legal as alcohol, but has the same restrictions as alcohol while driving and due to the fact that you can get a contact high, you cannot smoke it in a public place only the comfort of your own home.
Tax those who grow it/supply it, less people in jail, better for the economy.
By the way, I do not smoke it. I tried it a few times years ago. It was an interesting experience until I ended up getting sick in the bathroom for at least an hour from eating an entire pan of cake brownies because I had the munchies and couldn't stop eating thm. Not so much fun then and not an experience that I would choose to relive.
JMO, you don't have to agree with it, but from my view point it makes sense.
Well, I hope that it gets thrown out of court. It was self defense in my opinion and thats what I'd say to the judge. She had a pool cue and you were defending yourself; gut reaction was to hit back.
Sorry, but a little demon side of me keeps thinking, I hope you broke her nose. I know thats wrong of me to think that way, but you are a good friend and I don't like my friends getting hurt.
OMG, BEB, I'm so sorry to hear that! That is BS that the woman was so insecure & jealous that she took to brandishing a weapon against you! Her conduct was outrageously inexcusable and I don't blame you for punching her! More than well deserved for something that could have done more than a black eye and cut lip.
I'm shocked that they gave you a ticket as well. You were in self defense. She took a pool cue to you first. What were you to do? You don't know if you had turned and walked away if she would have swung at you again with the cue!!
Who knows what your pool partner said to her too. Not trying to defend her in any way, but out of anger he may have said something to fuel her jealousy that was like a match to dry kindling.
Fact is, you didn't know. You could have just had a nice game of pool and walked away. I've been asked several times by guys to shoot pool while at the bar. I've never once thought about an incident like this happening to me. I met one of my guy friends through playing pool with him. Same thing, just asked me if I wanted to play partners with him.
BEB, I'm so sorry to hear that this happened to you! What a horrible experience!! I'll definitely be thinking about it the next time a guy asks me to play partners in a pool game!!!
I have 2. Both easily hidden during the work week. I want to get a third along my belt line. I don't care if EVERYONE has one there already. I have a really pretty design that would look great there. :)
Already its amazing! Hours later and I feel like I have my contacts in. Things are really clear (just a smidgeon of blur around the edges) and it feels like I've just left my contacts in for days. Eyes are a little dry and a little grainy feeling, a little bloodshot, but I can see just like I had contacts in.
Like hrt said, I have already went to the bathroom thinking that I need to take my contacts out and got to the mirror and its like "DUH! They're not in". It's just habit as I go to get ready for bed at night. I take my lenses out, wash up, change, and check my mail a final time before crashing out.
Tomorrow is going to be the real killer. Every morning I reach over to the bedside table to grab my glasses. This time when they're not there, its not because Mojo (my cat) has chased the case off the table to some place (usually under the bed).
Well, good night all! Thank you all for the support.
All that worrying that I did for nothing! Things are still a little blurry right now, which is to be expected for the first day, so I apologize if I make typos (1 day excuse!). My eyes are still a little dilated and I have on these stellar cool black plastic sunglasses on right now (for the first couple days to wear during the day) and this super stellar cool clear swim google type shades to wear at night.
BUT I'm sitting here typing without my contacts or glasses. That was probably the easiest surgery I have been through. In and out within a matter of minutes and absolutely no pain. Weird experience though. Just laying there holding "George" the stuffed monkey they give you to hold, looking up at this red light and hearing this sound that was like static electricity and seeing something that looked like little lightning waves around the red light for a few seconds.
But darn if I couldn't see that clock when I sat up. Anyway, I've joined the world of people without corrective lenses! Plus the doctor gave me a rose, which is so pretty.
I called my mom when I got home and she was like "You're home? Already? Wow! That was fast!!" I'm still a little bit over relaxed. They gave me valium, which that's a little bit of a weird feeling.
LMAO, "I can see clearly now the rain has gone. I can see all obstacles in my way".
Anyway, much to do, so I must be off. I will talk to you all later!
JAWS 4: The Revenge...Did you Hollywood people not learn after the 3rd one BOMBED????
Halloween 3, 4, 5 6, 8, & 9 (Zombie's remake of 1)...UHHHH, STOP Already!!! Leave the series alone....Let it DIE, thanks! I kinda liked H20 (not too bad)

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.....Thank you all so much!!! Today has been such a wonderful day and I thank you all for sharing your well wishes with me!!! You are an awesome bunch!!!
Thank you Techno so much for posting this. I feel so special.
Now, I'm off for bed. The next time you all hear from me, I will hopefully be typing to you without contacts or glasses as I'm scheduled for Lasik surgery in 4 hours!!!! MAN, I'm nervous, but excited all the same!
Again, thank you all soooo much!!! I very much appreciate your well wishes!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't have one currently. Planning to get one. Single female living alone. I am an excellent shot, have been since Day 1 I learned to shoot, natural ability apparently (Probably inherited from my dad since he had marksman awards).
1) Get ahead financially - Gotta love unlimited OT at work.
2) Go through with my Lasik Surgery - Friday morning. They took the money out today :( So I'm going no matter how much of a chicken I am, but no more glasses or contacts.
3) Tighten up my tummy more - Working on that. Exception last night and probably tonight. Darn Strep Throat.
4) Quit Smoking - Going back on Chantix on the 22nd. Waiting until AFTER my bday and Surgery for that. Crazy times. Dr appointment Friday afternoon the 21st.
None in mine at the moment. Would like to get one...Just because I live alone.
I'm a darn fine shot. I learned years ago. My exhusband is a marksman and several awards for skeet shooting and he got annoyed during teaching me at my natural ability (probably inherited from my dad who had multiple marksman awards) to just hit the bullseye everytime no matter how far the target was or where ever it popped up at on the moving target range.
What? Like it was hard? Aim and pulled the trigger and I hit what I aim for.
Well, you can have it done at any time though in your 40s & up it may not have the results that I can get due to presbyopia (aging of the eye). It depends on the individual whether it restores vision to 20/20, but the younger you are the better the results from what the doctor told me. I don't know if there is a real big difference in savings as you get older. There might be though. :)
My friends Brian & Gabe are within 5 years my age. Brian is 34 and Gabe is 27. Both had theirs within the last two years. Brian is the one who had the trouble with lights and headaches and watery eyes. Gabe said that he just had dry eye and irritation
The doctor I'm seeing is the top doctor in the tri-state area, so I'm happy he's the one doing it.
Its $3750 before my vision care payout reimbursement (they give 15% off), so not too bad. I'm using my flex spending card (so, mini payments are just taken out of my paycheck). That total includes the surgery, the anasthetic, aftercare meds, and all my follow up appointments
Looking forward to not fighting with my contact lenses anymore. Even a brand new pair causes my eyes to burn and water for the first 5-10 minutes of putting them in. Then there's the benefit of not having to find my glasses in the morning (as the cat likes to chase the case off the nightstand) or not being able to just wear sunglasses in the summer (as I have the magnetic overlays now for when I wear my glasses).
Thanks Mid. I've read all the pamplets on it; been planning it for a year and a half. Mostly they all talk about the possible risks when getting it done, not the days of healing which is frustrating.
I'm looking forward to the super stellar cool clear plastic shades they said I have to wear to bed every night for the first two weeks (in case I tend to rub my eyes in my sleep).
So, my birthday present to myself is getting Lasik Vision correction. I'm scheduled to get it done the day after my birthday, on January 11th. I'm really excited, but nervous. I have had problems that have been getting consistantly worse when it comes to putting contact lenses in and I despise wearing my glasses. So Lasik will resolve both issues. I've been to the evaluation and I was told that based on my vision and the tests I had done that there is no reason that I shouldn't have 20/20 if not better vision after healing up.
I've talked to a couple of friends who have had it done and gotten mixed results on the following days after surgery. Both now see 20/20 or better, but one said he felt absolutely fine within hours after it was done other than dry eye really bad and slight irritation (like sand or hair was in his eye). The other said that he had really bad irritation in light, got really bad headaches with even a bit of light, and consistantly watery eyes for several days.
Just wondering if anyone here has had it done and what was your after surgery experience?
RE: I give
YAY! Glad you got it to work!!!
