Having no military force and defence of their own to maintain, Japan and Germany gained a lot in terms of money & prosperity, under the treaty they enjoy full protection against potential enemies,,it's a price to pay to nail these cruel people down, give them the liberty to have their own army/war weapons, we will surely write again another painful history, paradox, they won again economically,,,

Tract16,,, I respect your admiration for these people, and as you said it is after you've watched some clips. Well, i don't really know what are those clips, but reading your article revived in me an unsupportable pain. My family is directly concerned by the atrocities committed by the japanese during their occupation in my home country.My grandma had never seen & known what had happened to his husband and his 5 sons,, every night they walked through the dense forests never knowing where it leads, just to save her remaining 3 daughters from the cruelty of these people, one of those 3 girls was my mother.
It's been known that written documents relating this period, lacked so many individual testimonies. I can understand the word war, but i can't stomach soldiers who raping all women they came across, for to finish their dirty work hanging the women between 2 trees with legs wide open and dip their bayonets into their body.
They tossed in the air babies and catch them with their swords and bayonets. Well, that was just too minimal to the totality.
After the liberation of the Phils. the americans, so many years later, remaining japanese soldiers were still found hiding in the thick forests in Mindanao not knowing the war had long time ended.. Japanese until now, could not venture in the Phil. soil alone, they will risk their lives and they are aware of that. When they come as tourists, they are in group and thoroughly protected by tourists operators in exchange of high rates. The hiroshima bombing was the one that ended the war, a high price paid by the japanese in return.
While the Germans take care of Europe, it was the Japanese that took into their hands the asian side, with the same level of cruelty. I don't know if they have to apologize, but i'm sure in the heart and minds of those victims, including me,, they can never be pardoned.

lifeisadream,, I have the notion to see the meaning of human rights in the fighting grounds than on definitions. I see how difficult it is to treat this situation on the actualities, but then, i think there's no use in crying individually and get panicked, if the respective governamental system is not realible enough, individually we can do nothing, and here where i am, possesion of firearms is strictly prohibited by law,, and so far, personally, don't have any problem with refugees,, legal or illegal ,, let's see it that way ,,,

Asylum ,, Lindsy is a technical term,, it is general to all people seeking refuge,,wether it is political, economic, or claimatic,, but then when countries are not armed enough with accurate measures to manage such wave of movement, the length of time and human conditions they are going through in waiting,, then automatically, they have the tendency to seek their own ways, then in this manner they can fall on the category of illegal immigrants ,, that's how it passed actually here,,so they sneak, they hide, they rub,,etc,, and i have read that few of asylum seekers are accepted as political refugees ,, how much more of those who economic refugees ??? ,, well, we can debate dawn till night, but when we see the ralities/actualities,, it's far behind than what we have written here. This a problem that the society has to fight,,just like terrorism, unless we see them clearly as a collective problem, then individually we are helpless.

Of course,that is a crime,, there was no argumentation on that,, what is the subject here is i think is the massive invasion and incapacity of the EU and the countries concerned to implement effective control,, that is taking into consideration too that frontiers in the UE now are open to any UE citizen, employed or unemployed,, in addition to hundreds who arrived by boats.

Theft by the elites tom,,, it has a severe word ,,, manipulation on the part of the strong nations against the helpless/poor to cater to their interests. Why don't these elites don't fly to this arid zones and educate these people on how to produce locally (products) using the technology that this elite knows, why we don't want them to acquire technical know how and be self-sufficient? , like water and electricity to start with ,,

Lindsy,,, crimes and criminals have different faces and degree, it's on the evaluation on the gravity of the cause that these people should be condemned,, kindly take note that i was questioning your comment on calling others "idiot and ignorant" if we don't cater to your analysis.
And in your country,, since you are insisting the term criminal,, can your prisons could accomodate humanly this people , as they are punishable by your law, just don't forget it wasn't too long that your system there,, released a repetitive criminal/illegal immigrant,, resulting the death of a young lady.
