RE: Republicans trick people into voting for them

Why I am voting Democrat

I'm voting Democrat because I believe the government will do a better
of spending the money that I earn, than I would.

I am voting Democrat because freedom of speech is fine as long as
nobody is offended by it.

I am voting Democrat because when we pull out of Iraq, I can be
assured that the bad guys will stop what they are doing because they
will think that we are good people now.

I am voting Democrat because I believe that the people who can't tell
us whether or not it will rain on Friday... Can tell us that the polar
ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don't start driving a Prius.

I am voting Democrat because that I believe that businesses should not
be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and
then give the rest to the government for redistribution as politicians
see fit.

I am voting Democrat because I believe the Supreme Court Justices need
to rewrite the constitution every month to suit some activist kooks
who would never get their agendas past the voters.

I am voting Democrat because I believe that if criminals or terrorist
invade my home, I don't want any guns in house that might hurt them.

I am voting Democrat because I think that marriage doesn't need to be
just for a man and a woman. I think that people should be free to
marry whatever they want. I have decided to marry my dog.

I am voting Democrat because I think the workers that have paid into
social security all these years don't need or deserve it as badly as
illegal aliens and persons perpetrating welfare fraud.

I am voting Democrat because I want to pay even more expensive health
insurance premiums so people who do not pay a penny for their
healthcare can flood the healthcare system every time that they have a
headache.

I am voting Democrat because I want to further reduce our baby killing
military forces and just hope that no one wants to invade the USA.

I am voting Democrat because I feel that a president who is ashamed of
his country, ashamed to wear an American flag pin, who will not say
the pledge of allegiance to the flag and who has never had a real job
and yet lives in a 1.6 million dollar mansion... Has the best interest
of the nation and my family as his primary objective.

I am voting Democrat because I want Speaker of the house, like Nancy
Pelosi to save the planet, while destroying the United States of
America.

I am voting Democrat because I want more real patriots like Harry Reid
to be in positions of leadership.

I am voting Democrat because I want to pay higher taxes to fund
giveaway pork barrel programs that have no benefit to me or the
country, but make crooked politicians rich.

I am voting Democrat because I want to bring oil from countries that
support terrorist organizations that want to destroy America. Why
drill for domestic oil when we can just buy it from them for $150 per
barrel?

MAKES YOU EVEN WONDER WHY ANYONE WOULD EVER VOTE FOR A
REPUBLICAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: McCain Picks Sarah Palin.....

From a friend's cousin who lives in Alaska
********************************************************

Well now I'm getting emails from several of you with enthusiasm and
curiosity and even doubts about our wonderful - awesome governor who is now running for vice president. First of all I need to tell you HOW Richard and I found out about the announcement this morning. Vicki called VERY early and asked if we knew! (thank you Vicki) We didn't even have the TV on yet. I was shocked (and exited)!! Governor Palin hadn't even told her parents. She and her family flew to Ohio last night, closed-lipped about this whole situation. They found out when they turned on their TV this morning. She obviously didn't want any of the news to leak out until it "went national" this morning. She DOES have a close knit family (even with her parents) but they have learned to respect her choices of how she handles her family life and government issues. Anyway; Alaska has been "turned upside down" with this news.

We are VERY excited; because we know her track record and what she is capable of. You will all find out next week when the convention starts and what Sarah Palin has to say. She would EVEN be a GREAT president. Richard has been saying for weeks "McCain would choose Sarah Palin. I didn't agree with him. I felt no one knew her, and didn't figure she would even be considered. I was just happy to have her as our a governor!

Ok! You want to know a little bit about her:

Whn she became governor, she released the cooks and hired help in the governor's mansion in Juneau. She told them she does her own cooking (and also has two teenage daughters who cook) plus she cleans and shops for groceries. She also does NOT have a "driver". She drives herself everywhere. She sold the governor's private lear jet and put that money back into the state. She felt her husband made the right decision to keep his blue collar job in Prudoe Bay; after she became governor. It was his decision, and she supported him. She didn't take her kids out of the school they attend in Wasilla (their home town which is 30 miles north of Anchorage) and didn't sell their home there either.

She is very active in her children's school activities, her husband's snowmobile races, loves to fish, is pro life, and pro guns. She was given a baby shower (huge) and gave everything (money and gift cards included) to babies in need and charities. Shes a runner, hikes, ride snowmobiles, fishes, hunts, changes diapers, breast feeds her baby, and still runs the government up here with an clad iron fist. (proved that - getting back to work 2 days after her baby was born last April - taking the baby with her - and not hiring a nanny to take care of the baby).

She is a tough cookie. Staunch in her beliefs and challenges. She is also very competitive. Which has helped her advance in her political career. She is extremely intelligent and very well read. She has been in the middle of blowing "corruption in our government and oil companies" wide open; up here. Several people are now serving time in prison in the lower 48; as a result. That's just a start with the stories of our beloved Sarah Palin. If it happens that we lose her to the vice presidency, we will miss her tremendously and will keep our fingers crossed that whoever takes her place as governor; will
carry on business up here, half as well as she has!

Excellent example of use of brutality to quash free-thinkers of the new generations... very mad

RE: Pakistan Laws

As a world traveler & fellow Texan, you have NO IDEA how ashamed I am of our current president & his father before him... barf

In a couple of places we visited, it was much safer to admit to being Canadian... (go ahead - crucify me for not being a patriot; just do it AFTER you've had the same experiences)

I'm worried we're on the edge of a complete cultural meltdown here in America. The Joe Lunchbuckets of our society seem to be far more concerned with what Paris & Britney are doing than the fact that we need to pull the plug on the $700 Billion we're sending the Saudis every year to finance their terrorist attacks upon us.

RE: do you trust your pets opinion on your choices of dating material?

Hah! Funny... Some people just naturally have "the way" with animals. I find I am more drawn to those who do.

That said, I must also confess that I hold my goats in higher esteem than most humans! They seem to have an unerring sense of character... True story!

RE: So you decided to live together or get married! Would you sign a prenup or similar contract?

I have no debt. I could care less about material things. I would have no hesitation in signing a prenup. I would WANT my partner to feel secure about his future planning.

For the right man, I would make any sacrifice! I've had that kind of love before. We were separated by death. I hope to find it twice in a lifetime...

RE: What would you do for the love of your life

I went to Australia to meet a fellow... but I was planning to travel anyway. We didn't click, so I came back to the States...

BUT... there's somebody out there for me... I'm on his calendar for next Saturday... grin

RE: Texas school district to let teachers carry guns......

Exactly... and usually it was the same kid (the one with the chip on his shoulder) whose folks never showed up...

Wanna hear something funny? The whole time we were in Australia, people kept asking if we were Canadian... doh

The first fellow who guess correctly was running a gas station in Smithton, Tasmania. He said to me, "Howdy! You sound just like Dr. Phil!"

RE: Texas school district to let teachers carry guns......

What's nice is when people compliment you on the nice manners, maturity, consideration, etc., that your children display when you aren't around... Makes it all worthwhile, don't you agree?

It's great to know we aren't unleashing another generation of "little monsters" on society.

I'm sure that, as an involved parent, you know what I'm talking about.

Cheers! wine

RE: Texas school district to let teachers carry guns......

Forgot to say -- my son's 11th birthday present was a 12 ga. shotgun. At age 13 for Christmas, he received a .22 rifle, bolt action, with a 15-shot clip. He was trained by me in proper safety & use of both.

RE: Texas school district to let teachers carry guns......

Just catching up on this thread... I was born & bred in Texas. In 1999, upon seeing how ineffective weapons control methods (metal detectors, police officers, see-thru backpacks, etc.) were in public schools in Amarillo when my son was in 6th grade, I pulled him out & began homeschooling. Many other parents did the same. We formed a homeschool coalition in order that working parents could participate as well.

I am not rich, but homeschooling allowed my son & I freedom to travel the world in order to enrich him culturally as well as academically. This past June, at age 17, he has received his High School Equivalency Degree with the highest ever recorded score at the trade school he attends (Job Corps). He is the youngest employee in the office where he works for a satellite TV company as salesperson (all the rest are in their late 20s, 30s & 40s).

Homeschooling is not an opportunity available to many families; however, it can make a huge difference. Altho we traveled in some 3rd world countries (yes, some communist) and saw some pretty hairy things, I never worried about his safety like I did when he was in public school. Travel & exposure to other cultures has made all the difference in his level of maturity & understanding of the world in which we live.

It is deplorable that our educational systems have sunk to this level; yet it is a worldwide problem. If I had no choice but public schools to educate my son today, I would feel much more comfortable knowing that among those present were highly-trained & armed professionals who had a vested interest in their own safety that of their students.

There are no easy answers - but the girl with the dreadlocks is out of her gourd, IMHO.
