Speaking of random... None of your replies were in anyway related to the original topic
Nobody, except the voices in your head, destructed anything here. You should read what you see,not what you think you'd like to see. What are christian values? Are they any more or less comprehensive than moral values?
Christian institutions are doing a good job of destruction on themselves without our help.
You are getting closer to the original point here, without even realising it.
If someone(MY MOTHER) wants to pay, then why not??
Absolutely, The key word being "wants". You have to accept, though, that your mother & her parents before her, came from a generation where the priest had ultimate control of their fate for life & afterlife. If she had a gay brother, unmarried mother for a sister,a parent that would feed his family rather than make the monetary demands of the church,it wouldn't be long before their names would be read from the altar. You can figure out the consequences of that for yourself.
I'm sure,if your mothers faith is that strong ( I have no judgement on peoples beliefs),she would have made what she felt to be an appropiate donation to the first collection,
Now the original point. Do you feel that a church with its incredible assets & wealth are entitled to prey on your mothers faith in the second, third, fourth & fifth "collections" for money that they are already stink in? Something morally wrong with that.
The little people make it a religion, while the people running it makes it a very profitable business. That could apply to all churches & religions.
It takes you a week between replies, andwhen they come they're still in gibberish. Have you any thoughts on the original Shannonside radio report & the events that created it?
It's ok if you don't.but please stop typing to me for the sake of doing it.
That would be fine,if it were either a cause or a donation. Neither apply here, so sadly, your points aren't applicable. It was a junket for the clergy & a demand for alms. You could google - why did the pope come to Ireland, World meeting of families, catholic redress in Ireland,Tuam babies tribunal as a starting point.
Apoligies if I caused you any distress by starting a thread, clearly it was a waste of time doing so. Bulk of replies have come from people that missed the actual point.
Ah yeah. Saw it. It took me a while to see what actually started the battle though.
Correcting someones' grammer 18 months after the post, probably served no purpose either. BTW, The word "littlest"is actually grammatically correct, depending on its usage. So,to a point, both of ye were right.
RE: Who would you like to bath on the forums?
I think that rhyme was " rub a dub dub, three men in a tub" Can't remember the rest of it but you get the idea.
