RE: The book club on CS

Many folks here suffer from eye strain. The rest enjoy it.

RE: The book club on CS

Well if you put everything in large print, it may level the playing field.

RE: The book club on CS

I'm half way through the Mr Men series, and I can tell you Mr Messy is quite a hoot.

RE: Care worker sacked for refusing Covid vaccination

Yeah nah, pretty much pawned on this one. Different country different thing, not at all related. Of no relevance to me or here.

RE: Should I, Shouldn't I?

Sounds like too much humbug, for not much return.
But i does deffo happen a lot.

RE: Should I, Shouldn't I?

Groundbreaking stuff. Who would have thought you could have 2 windows open at once. Or might be completely unrelated...

It's not easy.

RE: Care worker sacked for refusing Covid vaccination

Yes, and yes, though our particular dialect can be confusing for some.

Next question/s...

RE: Care worker sacked for refusing Covid vaccination

Seatbelt fine is big here.

Can get it, can die from it... Yes, both, but orders of magnitude less likely.

As previously stated, it's a choice. And it's our choice if these social pariahs are included in social settings. We evidently have voted no, not really.

RE: Care worker sacked for refusing Covid vaccination

there are no insults there brother,, will always ridicule ridiculous ideas. You're on the back foot.

RE: Should I, Shouldn't I?

Should you stay or go, well if you stay there will be trouble. But if you go it will be double.

RE: Care worker sacked for refusing Covid vaccination

So am I... I'm also anti covid, a bit more so... I think we have the balance right here, if you want to be part of society and socialise, fulfil your social obligations.

Otherwise, move out to the hills and be alone, where nobody will contaminate you. That is the choice, not do as you please because everybody else did the right thing.

These people always seem to have the idea they are somehow special. They know things others don't, and feel that is enough for them to go to the tennis or whatever, feeling confident because everyone else is vaccinated.

We made the effort, you clowns spouted rubbish from facebook or whatever, we actually don't want you lot at the tennis with us. Filthy lepers.

RE: Care worker sacked for refusing Covid vaccination

You system must be different from ours, we have well paid dedicated professionals who know what they're doing giving the injections. Yes there have been mistakes, some getting too concentrated, some getting too diluted. There was a loony even not pushing the plunger and signing off as vaccinated. She's been charged with fraud and is looking for a job now.

Not an anti vaxxer? hmm, you're sounding mighty like a germ farmer dude.

RE: Care worker sacked for refusing Covid vaccination

Not true at all, I had a monkey bite my wrist one time, he got a vein and blood pumped like crazy. It stopped bleeding and I was fine (bit shaken up). A much more dangerous experience for many reasons, but no clotting outside that which helped me not bleed out.

RE: Care worker sacked for refusing Covid vaccination

Aspiration would cause an air bubble in the brain, not a clot. Possibly take a fair bit of air to be a major issue, like half the needle or something.

RE: Care worker sacked for refusing Covid vaccination

Today they announced the restrictions will be lifted for the fully vaccinated in about a month.

The unvaccinated go into societal lockdown, not welcome in bars, at concerts, restaurants, football/cricket/whatever games... Be limited in travel and have to quarantine in hotels. Many jobs it will be mandatory or you get sacked.

I'm vaccinated, so am slightly less scared of the pox itself, and won't be affected at all by restrictions. If folks have strength in their beliefs and really don't want it, that's ok but don't expect to be welcome at any gathering.

Hey, I had to do a driving test to get my license to drive, I don't have sympathy for those who want to drive but can't be arsed getting a license.

RE: Do you like arguing?

That film encouraged a lot of dogs to become violent. That's why things are so dangerous now.

RE: Name something you will never do again..

Sometimes it is easier to swear off doing something you had no plans of doing anyway, such as I'm not going to whack off the Turkish guy who runs the ice cream van any more. I'd prefer to just pay for it like everyone else.

RE: Name something you will never do again..

There are certain things in this world that one swears never to do again, however. given half a chance one would be on it like a seagull on a sick prawn.

That's all I have to say about the matter, for this post.

RE: Care worker sacked for refusing Covid vaccination

Well, rather than asking silly questions, sit back and see what folks are saying. Pretty simple really.

RE: Care worker sacked for refusing Covid vaccination

And wouldn't it be good for that nursing home to have protocols? Your parents might end up there too.

RE: Care worker sacked for refusing Covid vaccination

Could be either I guess, the choice is be safe or be on the dole. Can't have a boot in both camps.

RE: Care worker sacked for refusing Covid vaccination

A little harsh, I guess your lot were making the stocks, my lot were dreading it.

RE: Name something you will never do again..

Oh no, very strict on drink driving here, but meat pies are fine for now.

It's nice, that whistling turbo sound. Spectacular over 90.

RE: Care worker sacked for refusing Covid vaccination

Too bad so sad, Darwinian evolution of the carers?

RE: Name something you will never do again..

You have a different style of eating them, here, you want do be doing around 140 in a 100 zone, steering with your knee.

Now if you scroll back and observe the photographic exabits, you'll see this as unlikely. The pastry is simply not up to the job. Yeah sure out the back with a bit of fathers favourite with a knife and fork. But fark that, this is the new era.

RE: Name something you will never do again..

It looks like a delicious pie, but unfortunately it looks like you couldn't actually lift it from the tray and eat it normally..

But I don't want to be a keyboard warrior jumping to conclusions.

But there is that nagging suspicion, like wire in the blood or something.

RE: Name something you will never do again..

That's a good pie, though pastry looks like it might collapse easily. As long as the filling is rich, and it doesn't collapse too early (last few bites) it should work out fine.

The pastry expectations there are different, I think we have that Mediterranean thing, the pastizzi fluffiness sort of thing.

RE: Do you like arguing?

I'll go with whatever Jac says, it's not worth the argument...

RE: Name something you will never do again..

Like fruit mince pie at xmas?, Fark me there could be money in this leprechaun business.

RE: Name something you will never do again..

One thing I'll never do again- Eat a mutton pie in Scotland. A close second would be eat a pork pie in England.

You guys really have to get it together re pies.
