I think the problem is they think the most sensible course of action is the one they take, because thats the course they take. Regardless of how it has or hasn't worked anywhere else, they simply have to be right and wont look at anything else.
Gun control is a good example. Or not even control, just a few basic rules... But no, they know better. No need for basic rules, the kids shooting up the school with a machine gun is in no way connected to some god given right to own a machine gun blah blah blah
Unfortunately, we'll hit 60 000 much quicker than we hit 30 000... And the conspiracy theory loonies will no doubt shift their ridiculous theories to the next milestone.
Our experience, a huge amount from cruise ships, a huge amount in aged care homes. Some from airlines, some from America and Europe. But mostly controlled.

I had a housemate one time, he was a mental health nurse. He would come home regularly with a black eye or similar from the people he cared for. It always amazed and impressed me how he held no grudge and would deal with the same person the next day with a clean slate. He didnt hold them responsible, or want to get even.
It freaked me out going south, and seeing some people near my parents place with issues. A tough-looking tattooed guy swearing and having imaginary conversations. Of course my first reaction was this is a threat, but I was told he always get flogged by young blokes looking to make their mark, and I could see a lot of fear in his eyes which made me want to offer him a beer.
It would be so good if the world just decided to be a bit more kind to one another.
If I'm just living life as usual on my own, I probably wouldnt bother.
If I was to see my parents who I miss heaps YES... For me I dont care, but for them I do.
And thats selfish, my neighbours are all someones parents and grandparents. So I guess I probably would for them too even though I hardly know them. Just nice old people doing their thing.
But I think some are making nasty vindictive gratuitous comments, whilst pretending to hold the high moral ground. Hey, I can go on if you want, or shall we leave it at that?
Meh, it takes all sorts I guess... It can test your patience dealing with it, but we should be compassionate to consider how it must be living it... I don't think a smack in the head will help a disturbed person, much as we might think they deserve it.
A short girlfriend would be fine, as long as she didn't have fat legs. A little bit chubby is ok but not great big pasty legs that look like sausages tied up with a bit of string. That would be a bit much really.
