I lost both my sense of smell and the ability to taste for a month..........never did find out the reason; whether it was a mini-stroke, or whatever.
It's pretty bad when you have to force yourself to eat something to keep your body nourished when you can't taste flavors in the foods. Everything tasted to me like a wooden popsicle stick does after you have eaten all of the popsicle.
I'm glad that everything returned to normal after a month. When I told my doctor, he gave me no reason for it to happen, but just laughed.
Nah, it was a sweatshirt from a nephew for a University that he favored. I thought he would enjoy it more than me, but he kinda had a funny look on his face when he saw what it was.
When you are young, your heart is open to the world and is trusting. But as time goes on, things happen that cause hurt to your heart; but being rather young, you shrug it off, and think that it was just a fluke, and won't happen again. Perhaps some time passes before your heart is hurt again, and maybe you have forgotten about the hurts in the past. But if you do remember, you start to close your heart up just a little, to prevent the same thing from happening to you again. As you grow older in age, you have come into contact with more people, some of them good, and some of them not so good. The ones who are the good ones, you value their existence in your life, because being around them, makes your heart happy. But the other ones who are not so good, don't really care about your heart or how their actions can hurt it. When their actions do cause your heart pain, you close it up a little more, but it is still open, because you believe that not everyone is bad. However, as more time passes, and you have a string of people who have taken advantage of your open and loving heart; at some point, you decide that you can do without any more hurt to your heart, and close it off to everyone. And that is the sad part of life; because due to the evil things that have caused you to close your heart to everyone, has, at the same time, shut out all the well-meaning and honest people who could bring joy and happiness to your heart once again. Life is a continuous learning process; some of the lucky people learn early on, how to determine those who are the good and who are the bad people of the world, and therefore can distance themselves from those who would hurt them. Those who have an open and trusting heart are the worst, because they are the most vulnerable, and they are who get hurt the most. Soooo, it is ok to trust your heart, but at the first sign that someone does not care whether they hurt you or not, eliminate them as much as possible from your life.........your heart will thank you.
I have long-ago decided that the proceeds of my estate will go to organizations in the small town where I grew up; so if I were to win the lottery, they would just have a lot more money with which to enrich the quality of life of those living there.
Some people resolve to lose weight and exercise more in the New Year...
NOT ME....I started my New Year off with a piece of Costco's Pecan pie and a cup of coffee. I'm gonna eat whatever I like and tell everyone I'M PREGNANT !!!
Here in Iowa, the State School for the Blind, is in a town called Vinton.
I always thought that maybe I could find me a wife there.
Unfortunately, I never got to Vinton...........but maybe it's just as well............no alimony, no child support; and I know enough to take the garbage to the curb once a week, or else the container will get too full.
It's dark out..........maybe because the sun has gone down It could be because it's 9:30 at nite. Currently, the temp outside is 58 degrees...the temp inside is 75
