C'mon Baby, we'll shack up..........I'll put on a lot of extra clothes. But from the heat we'll generate, I don't think ANY will be needed...............
My Sister and her family lived in Stanton, which u might remember is about 8 or so miles East of Red Oak. Many of the towns u mentioned, I am familiar with; as I worked along I-80 before it was completed and fully open to traffic.
During the time my sis lived in Stanton, I belonged to 2 different CB radio clubs in that area, back in those days when cb radios were " the thing ". I made a lot of good friends while sis was living in that area; eventually they relocated to a town East of Marshalltown.
I know what you say about the humidity. Usually in the Summertime, I just stay inside with the AC, but my stupid grass just won't leave me alone. I can handle the heat better than I can the cold.
I've always kinda thought of farmers as professional gamblers, because they gamble each year whenever they try to plant, raise livestock, or anything else involved with farming.
Low commodity prices, high fuel prices, loss of animals due to disease, fire or theft, etc; too much rain or not enough, crop failure, etc. Sometimes the cost to plant a crop exceeds the return......farming is a risky business.
P S......Inthewoods.....what was the name of the town near where your Grandparents had their farm ? I had a Sister who lived in that portion of the state for several years, and was often out to visit and spend time with them.
Dear SA..............Thank you for the effort to let me know what the final outcome was; I appreciate it.
Yeah, for the most part, the people on CS should be considered one big family; and when one of us suffers from an adverse situation in our lives, all of us are affected. Yes, there are the " black sheep " in every family, but they are in the minority, and best just ignored.
Larry, please excuse my previous posts. At the time I sent them, I hadn't read far enough ahead to learn of your cow's fate. I'm sorry it happened, but everthing that is living has to die eventually; whether it be plant or animal or human.
You can take solace in knowing that u tried your best within the conditions you were presented with. Yeah, the haters out there will always find fault with what others do, irregardless. Just ignore them.
When u said u called her, and got no response; I was gonna suggest that perhaps her phone was shut off, dead battery, or out of reception range.
Glad to hear that you finally found her....hope she recovers well, for your sake and her calf's welfare also.
I looked up Gower..thought if maybe u lived anywhere close to the Southern Iowa area that I grew up, I would pop by sometime, and have a beer with ya.....BUT, you are in the middle of Nowhere. Easiest way to get there would be by helicopter. My luck is gonna hafta change one helluva lot from yesterday, for something like that to happen.
RE: Say Anything
Maybe...............still waiting to hear back from forensics.............
