I ask, ‘what is respect for women?’ because it is a genuine head-scratcher. Is it some universal way men must behave towards women - WOMEN?; that is not to say ‘a woman of particular merit, grace or personal qualities that command respect, but ALL women by virtue of merely being women?

I don’t see why, really? Hence I ask ‘What is respect for woman?; not in the derogatory sense, but in the philosophical.

I am in Cyprus, where you see some stupid things going on sometimes.

Today there was a cyclist flanking a woman's car and a junction coming up on the left across which the cyclist was clearly going to cycle and she indicated and just turned straight into the junction and into him.

First of all, she should have been behind the cyclist (you never drive with a cyclist on your flank but move out and overtake or slowdown and drive behind ). . . let alone turn into a fricken juntion with one on your flank . . .

I am an advanced driver now, another step ahead of my 'fellow man' . . . may he forever taste the caustic dust of my academic heel!

Yes, and ladies this is something that really upsets me:

Mothers who push prams into the road when they are waiting to cross. Check that it is safe first, with the pram on the curb next to you, and then wheel it across without rushing when you are free to go . . .

Really, you wouldn't belive how many women do this . . . . . . it makes me loose faith in the female mind . . .

No, because unless I have misunderstood, B is saying that all factors must be true 'from premise to conclusion' for the conclusion to be true - well that is just incorrect, I am afraid, and also overlooks the fundamental rule of logic: a true conclusion can follow from a false-premise (nine times out of ten, it does).

No, you're very very mistaken I'm afraid, old boy. 'from premise to conclusion'? Logical rule: a true conclusion can follow from a false-premise (and more often than not, will)
