As you probably know, here in Europe, we are about to put the clocks back an hour next Sunday, October 23rd – winter time.
So, have we lost an hour?
My dog certainly won´t know the difference – for a while anyway! If I decide to get up one hour later, according to the time on the clock, this means that my dog will have to hold his knees together for an hour longer as he goes by his own little clock in his head, and not mine.
If we fly West to America, we arrive before we took off – according to the clock. Were we in a time machine?
Have you noticed that our concept of existence depends on this “time thing”? Language is full of this, e.g. on time, in the nick of time, spare time, out of time, time heals all wounds, kill time and many more... What is it that we´re talking about?
While the modern western mind views time as linear with a beginning and an end, other cultures - and some scientific facts - describe time as being circular as it is a continual cycle where the past, present and future happen simultaneously.
Is time an Illusion? Many physicists and philosophers assert that time is an illusion - which I also believe! Does this mean that it is not real? Are we being misled by our human perspectives?
Einstein once said; “Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. That's relativity.”
Ok, I´ve run out of time now and, as you know, time waits for nobody. So it´s time to go...
How to keep the conversation going is the big question??? Just when you "think" you have something in common...then it doesn't go any further. you end up with very superficial snippets of many unfinished topics!
Then...what do you do? Just wait with patience hoping it will get better?
Our mission is to find out where we come from...how we got here and what is our role here. Then live life the best we can before returning to the source.
RE: Is lying socially acceptable?
You certainly will! Ask Stringman.
