I agree with a lot of what Buddhism teaches..the non violence etc ... And..btw. I am NOT a religious nutter as I have no religion and don't believe in any dogma.

Assisting someone to die, as an act of love and compassion, might also be against someone´s religion but, nevertheless, it is done.

In the case or your mother, I suppose that can happen and I have also heard of such cases. They just lose their will to live and let themselves go... usually during their sleep.
Also...if people decide to go to Switzerland to have the deed done... What about the people who accompany them for the journey? Do they get done for having assisted the suicide.???

Apparently...it is also illegal for doctors to assist their patients? Maybe not all countries?
As for doing it yourself...well.. First you need someone who to give you the correct drug.. Then..you need to be physically capable of drinking or taking the stuff..
