For the most part, I agree with you, Buzzy. But there is this picture of Matt Sanders (stage name M Shadows) with the band Avenged Sevenfold. He's such a hottie that his lip ring doesn't bother me at all.
When I was a kid, my mom traded something for a bedroom suite. She had no idea what she was getting. It had been antiqued green and painted with white enamel paint. A 4-poster bed, high boy chest, night stand, vanity dresser, and desk.
We spent a couple of summers helping mom redo these pieces. Underneath all of that was a beautiful mahogany. She had a stain specially mixed and it's beautiful. She left it to me at her death.
Exactly! And don't forget to have fun with it. I do counted cross stitch and crochet. Both are quite easy to learn. I also enjoy reading.
As for having fun with it. I had a friend once whose aunt was laid up with a badly broken legs for a couple of months. My friend would send her a package every week of things to do. When she started running out of ideas, she asked me. We spent our lunch hour buying a lap desk, colored pencils and crayons, coloring books, black paper and gel pens, crossword and find-a-word books. In fact, we have a publishing company here in the US called Dover. They cater to homeschoolers a lot. But they have the most wonderful coloring books of every subject from Antique Cars to every Historical Era. They are wonderful! I've never minded coloring with Em in these books!
You have young children, Tam. If they were bored and had done their chores, what would you tell them to do?
Have fun, sweetie, and most of all.. Take care of you.
I can actually put on makeup in 5 minutes when I want to. My hair is another matter. It's long and thick, takes a while to dry and is a lot to roll. I often put it up or leave it straight or just a little wave in it.
