RE: what if god really was one of us

Hiya Trish... there are a couple of things which I do not understand when considering your approach to the question of God.... you frequently quote from sources expounding theories that.... The Bible is erroneous, that Religion (and its practices) borrowed from Pagan practices etc.. and you are quiet willing to believe these non-substantiated and very recent theories....there has been a flood of them in the last decade and all sorts of conspiracies emerging... YET you do not trust a book which has been around for centuries, nor an innate concept which has been instinctual for humankind, even prior to the dawn of Religion... the mind boggles... explain...

RE: who here believes, to find a good man/woman one should go to church?

thumbs up hug

RE: who here believes, to find a good man/woman one should go to church?

I agree with you that this was wrong.... even if you look at it from the point of view of forgiveness which is a very Christian trait, and something which is to be commended... continuing to place children at risk, cannot be condoned or excused... they should have at the very least been removed from service and placed into therapy... and that is taking the forgiveness/compassionate route... it seems to me that on many levels the Catholic Church and indeed many other organised religions have lost the plot long ago... like their wealth... a redistribution of their wealth and a proper use of their power could be a supreme good... but know they would rather hang onto their posessions and protect their powerful position.. just my view.. nothing against good catholic people who are innocent of the sins of their leaders... just sayin sigh

RE: who here believes, to find a good man/woman one should go to church?

TBH... I am not sure that it makes any difference.. cause you have to meet someone you genuinely like and click with.. so whether you meet them on the street or in Church doesn't really matter...for example I am a regular Church goer, and there isn't anyone in my Church that I have considered dating.. so really.. doesn't make a difference... I would like to meet a fellow Christian, sure, but by the looks of things I am not going to meet him in my church sigh...

There are good people everywhere... compatibility is the key wave

RE: The people without capability of thinking about concepts...

Case in point.... sigh....blues

RE: The people without capability of thinking about concepts...

Yes I agree, I am particularly unimpressed by Condescension... I think you can disagree with a person without implying that they are stupid, a liar etc.. I think it just comes accross as nasty.. which is not necessary.. I have said it before and I'll say it again.. there are people on here with whom my views are diametrically opposed... but they are just our opinions... which of course we are all entitled to... now the people behind the opinions.. different thing altogether... some of my favourite people here have completely differing views..

Lets just try and be civil people !!professor

RE: Being Popular

Chris... this is certainly not true of Kid... sure he is not as 'vocal' as some of us but he has NEVER beat his drum to someone elses tune.. he has always been consistent throughout.. there are many things that we have fundamentally disagreed upon (faith being a biggy) but he has NEVER swayed... he is also subtely forthright with his opinion and sometimes even controversial... but always consistent and true to himself..

RE: Ok Ladies Has This Happened To You........?????

Ewww.. creepy.. thank God no!... though I delete most of my messages so I probably bypass all of the creeps.... where do these people come from confused... they give women and very bad impression of guys... who while admittedly 'hormonally charged' to say the least are at least relatively 'normal'... most of the time.. ahem..laugh

RE: Looking at the photo and find the difference...

Oh me too... I think warm smiles and kind eyes are a great indicator.... smirks and cheeky eyes could be a sign of trouble though.. is good to know the difference

RE: WHAT DO GIRLS LIKE IN A MAN WHEN THEY GO ON A DATE ?

Me too :batting eyelashes:....even my Mum refers to herself as a 'girl' as in... 'girls night out' etc... gotta keep the spirit young.. thats what I say.. as to date..

I'm a little old fashioned, I like a guy to go to a bit of effort for me.. I am impressed when a guy wants to take me somewhere nice and offer to pay (which I have no difficultly acceptinglaugh.. on the first date anyway) I also like little touches like opening doors etc (I know!! I belong to the wrong century)... as regards entertainment.. I love a good music gig, or a comedy show.. (laughing always a plus) and I like it when a guy has the respect not to pounce on me or expect anything in the early days... a guy being all over me is a real turn off...

Also light conversation is good.. nothing heavy.. not in in the 'getting to know you phase'....

RE: Being Popular

Ok here goes..... alot of points there Al (my sweetheart smitten)

Do I care about being popular.. no!.. never have not even as a child, cause I learned at an early age that it meant compromising urself.. kids can be nasty!!

No.. not important at all.. though my friendships are... the generous handful of friends that I have gathered over the years are all very important to me.. though to be very honest, I could be alot better.. reminds me must send off some emails...

I will try and be tactful in the sense of not sticking a verbal dagger in someones heart (which not good either imo). but I will be honest.... very hard thing to do sometimes.. but people generally appreciate it IME

Social norms.. God no!!! laugh.... I have always been quirky and a little different (all my family are) and I like it..

Threads.. no.. though it does make it easier to find ur posts (go into my threads etc) which is handy

I have never been popular.. .so not much of a loss really.. and tbh there are only one or two on here that I am very fond of.... vast majority of people who regularly post are lovely, just never really got to know them any better than day one.

I wish I was more of a 'walker' tbh

RE: What sort of letter would you write with your cv?

wow.. u certainly don't look it!!

With re to age.. the dynamic of the work place has really changed in the last few years.. the idea of someone spending the rest of their lives in a job or 20+ years is now almost unheard of so I wouldn't worry too much about that....

Focus on the fact that you are skilled, mature, level headed, very experienced with people.. these are all a big plus to a potential employer..

Thanks for the well wishes.. I received an email there yesterday requesting me to attend an interview regarding a post I am very interested in... I have been praying alot about it so I am hopeful

cheers

RE: What sort of letter would you write with your cv?

Hiya then emphasise your people skills, team work, ability to work within deadlines and meet targets...etc...

RE: What sort of letter would you write with your cv?

Hiya... got a few suggestions.. hope they help...

Apart from the usual formalities.. which I am sure you are abundantly aware I would

1. Study the role and the company/organisation and identify what skill sets are required for the job, and also the nature of the company.. e.g. smaller companies will want someone who is a strong multitasker and willing to chip in and take on whatever tasks are required as the need arises.. larger organisations the emphasis would be on team work etc..

2. Look at your CV (resume) and evaluate all your previous roles, and try to match up your current and past experience and apply it to the role at hand. Try to emphasise (in a summary way) how the skill sets obtained in your previous job are relevant to the current role. If there are skills that you have not yet obtained.. adapt in as far as you can your previous experience.

The above shows your interest, and it also shows that you fully understand the nature of the role, the needs of the company and the fact that you know what will be expected of you..

Best of luck... I know how you feel, am going through the process myself at the mo.. hug

cheers

RE: I'm here to make friends, it's not easy for me.

Hiya.. welcome to CS...

Don't have too much expectation when it comes to messages and flowers.. alot of women (myself included) do not answer them. Stick to the forums and get chatting and having fun.. it is a much easier way to make friends, because people (girls) will have a chance to suss you out and get to know you..

Best of luck..

p.s by all means do send messages etc.. just don't be disappointed if some or not replied to...

p.p.s Do get a photo it does really help...

RE: Hair Colour. Do you have a preference ???

The poll results on this are interesting... cause to be very honest.. I have been every colour.. but by far the most sucessful colour when it comes to getting attention (in my experience) has been blonde... my favourite is red...love red hair.. but it poses the question.... do blondes really have more fun?.... in my experience the answer has to be yes.. just wondering hmmm

RE: WORLD WILL END IN 2012

Thats a good attitude.... one has to look to themselves for change and growth before they can expect it from someone else... sitting in our armchairs pointing accusing fingers at everyone prob not very good..

Defo don't think you are a 'bad' person Kid.. quite the opposite in fact hug hug

RE: WORLD WILL END IN 2012

The 'great awakening' is entering into the Spiritual Realm. we are in the Spiritual realm, this is an increasingly Spiritual age.. u just gotta look at the volume of responses to these threads... most people (if not all) are searching for something.. be it knowledge, be it understanding, be it faith, be it peace.. this is a fertile spiritual age.. '..

My Nan had the gift of prophesy.. she wrote this in 1980.. started with a question.. is it true Lord are you coming soon, is the Holy Spirit among us..

the note continues as follows ' It is I your God, fear not, the end times are with us. As I gather my flock together around me, through the power of my Holy Spirit of Love. As all who believe are gathered together under one roof, under one God, all shall come to know that the Kingdom of God is at hand. Have no fear for all my peoples are coming towards me, to behold me as you both know me (my Nan and her sister) As love bursts forth ever increasing embracing all my people in a Divine Miracle of reunion as all become one in Christ the living God. Prepare ye the way of the Lord. Only you who know me now shall I reveal the Good news, for all must be born to the place of Divine knowledge of God, before I shall reveal myself. The world as you see it now shall become a wilderness and the Divine hand of Christ shall raise all my chosen above. The destruction of the old and the beginning of the new. That world without fear or want or hunger or death. Only life, Spiritual life and love abounding, Christ filled.... The time is coming when all men of God shall behold the Divine majesty that is their Creator. Within two decades the Spirit of God shall embrace all men, all of Gods children shall become Spirit filled. Let you both who are as one with me continue to surrender your loved ones to me for through my Spirit, mind and body, then and only then can I cause my loved one to turn back to me. Their progress may be slow, but I have answered the call, they shall not perish for their names are written in the Book of life. Think of how I caused you to come to me, through the years of trials, and sadness, through tragedy, through the darkness of crises to a place of my love. Give praise to the Lord for these crisis for Through them you have found the treasures not of this world, but the love the peace the joy that springs eternal from a loving caring God of all mercy and compassion.. @

RE: WORLD WILL END IN 2012

Jesus states quite clearly in the Bible that nobody but the Father knows when the end will come.. there will be signs, but the exact day, time and hour, nobody but the Father knows... when he speaks of death in that passage, he is speaking of spiritual death.. life is not considered in the physical form.. in fact to 'live' in the spiritual sense is to die to self, spiritual people particularly those with the gift of prophesy, have to 'die to self' before they can know the Father...

Just a lil clarification there..
