Catholism, Mary and 'False Gods'..

Ok I have tons to say to the above comments but will have to comment later, and will do some prep too to make sure am correct.... but I feel I do have to say... I am a DEVOTED Christian, I have been Babtised in water and spirit and I believe passionately in God's word and Jesus Christ,... I am trying to clarify these points. NOT because I lack faith, but because I have so much of it..

Catholism, Mary and 'False Gods'..

I just don't like that people are being lied to, to their spiritual detriment.. what can I say I am passionate about the truth... now while I know that most people don't care that much anyway.. I figure at least if they have a clean slate that has its basis in truth, they are at a good place, whether they chose to seek it out further or not... guess I have always been like that.. why I became a lawyer etc.... even when I was younger and found out that there was no Santa.. I felt a big compulsion to tell all the kids the truth.. laugh... that got me into trouble I can tell you.. and mortified my mother.. laugh..

Anyway, clearly I have touched a nerve.. so for that I apologise..

I wish I could do that... what I did wasn't a patch off that.. but it did work laugh.... this stuff works!! laugh.. anyway have to hit the hay.. can't believe I am still up.. sigh

Catholism, Mary and 'False Gods'..

sorry that was the THURSDAY that I got the call and the cheques.. and it was the Tuesday that I fasted.. just clarifying.. .

Catholism, Mary and 'False Gods'..

I have had an experience following fasting recently.. I had hit a couple of brick walls in my life and needed 'special' intervention..

I am self employed.. which is tough cause the cheques can be slow to come in.. I had to cancel my bank card cause it was stolen so I was down to my last €10.. also I had received a 'I am sorry but you will be not included in our list of candidates letter.' for a job.. so no money.. no bank card.. rejection letter.. can't get any worse really laugh..

On the wednesday I fasted, prayed and read the bible all day.. on the wednesday.. I got a call from the employer saying they had reconsidered my application.... I was called to do the entrance exam.. laugh complete turn around.. then I got this urge to go into town.. at first I ignored the urge (cause I was feelin really lazy.. was on CS actually at the time laugh) and got the subconscious 'word' again..so said a quick prayer asking God if it is him telling me.. let me get a text from a particular person before 1pm.. at that very moment I got the text.. from that person.. so I went in........ to find 2 cheques.. totalling 3.5k.... bit of a breakthrough.. laugh

wave Hi.. beautiful photo btw..

For heaven's sake... sigh... The Catholic Church are trying to turn into a marketing machine with their hot shot team behind them I am sure.. but spiritually they are soo in the dark and so resistant to a change in spiritual direction...

Catholism, Mary and 'False Gods'..

I know the one you refer to .... it did commend individuals who took vows of celibacy, but men and womens natural condition is to be together as God intended... if one choses to sacrifice him/herself for God though it is highly commended.. fasting is also highly valued and can be a really effective aid to prayer..

Catholism, Mary and 'False Gods'..

Matthew, Mark and Luke are by all accounts similar summaries of Christ's life from his conception to his miracles teachings etc to his betrayal and crucifiction... so they all mention Mary in the conception part.. that is not denied.. she is also mentioned (not by name) in some of the earlier prophesied in the old testament.. she is identified by the fact of being a virgin and by her blood line, which is traced back to David (before incorrectly said Abraham)... that she bore Christ is not in dispute at all.. even the Quran acknowledges this and the ancient Hebrew text (I think).. just saying which is not in dispute in accordance with scripture at least... She is not to be worshipped or prayed to.. can't be clearer than that... that is the ONLY issue which I have based the op on.. but hey while I am at it I also have a problem with the Catholics 'passports for sale', incorrect obligation for celibacy, worship of saints, statues... etc.. My 'issues' are scriptural based.. As a Catholic I had no major issues with anything other than the fact that it was an empty religion.. went to a Catholic school the nuns were lovely, I have known some lovely priests and Catholic people in the main are good people.. the Church and its misguidance my only problem really... but clearly I have touched a nerve with you.. by all means.. go off to mass.. pray to mary and statues... and well knock yerself out.. I will continue to do my thing...

RE: NOBODY EVER VIEWS MY PROFILE

Just looked at it there.. I agree with Claayer... try a nice close up one with a smiley face.. that might work..

Love the hat too btw...

Did you know that pre-Calvinist Protestantism, the Catholic Church had 'passports to heaven' that you could BUY... for a price... laugh.. you couldn't make this stuff up.. that is why Calvin had to exile to Switzerland, as it was a safe haven politically for persons who were excommunicated from the Church.. his crime.. thinking the passport to heaven and the lack of spirituality in the Church was wrong..

Anyway.. Mark 10 'from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female, for this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh, so that they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together let not man seperate'... plus most of the early apostles were married... marriage is one of the most important and sacred unions in the Bible because it is so important to the family, which in turn is so important to society as a whole... some chose celibacy... but it was certainly not a requirement..

Catholism, Mary and 'False Gods'..

No problem... if you get that impression I am sorry to say that you are in a sense correct.. I have a major bug to bear with an entire Church (a powerful one at that) misguiding its congregation, and leading them into a path which is non scriptural and in fact in direct contravention with God's word... so yeah guess you hit the nail on the head in some respects... I don't blame 'Catholics' per se though.. I just blame their misguided leaders...

As the Mother of God I have huge respect for the woman, she must have been very special and extraordinary indeed to have been blessed (annointed) with such a world changing, extremely important and divine task.. but will I ever pray to her, I am sorry to say no.. I choose to adhere to Jesus's express instructions in that regard... as a Christian I am obliged to...

I am glad that you are not deeply religious.... that means there is hope.. if you wish to challenge any aspect of my opinion.. or indeed if you are curious as to what the truth about Mary is.. then look it up.. you will be amazed what you will find...

but just to clarify.. for the third time... I have NOTHING against the mother of God... just don't pray to her is all.... but I have no doubt she is one of the most special people in heaven...

Catholism, Mary and 'False Gods'..

sigh exactly..... upsets me to think that so many people have been lied to for so many years,.. and the Vatican and the Church have got rich and powerful off the back of it.. and in the mean time people really don't know what to believe any more sigh...

Missed u....

Hey buddy.. where have you been? hug.... I'm at it again huh??... laugh...

Catholism, Mary and 'False Gods'..

You can't really learn anything from the Bible if you have it quoted to you in an a la carte way (as was the Catholic school way sad)... She is mentioned in Matthew in the first couple of chapters about how she came to bear Jesus.. and she is referred to again at the crucifiction scene as the 'other Mary'.. that she bore Jesus Christ is not in dispute.. however that we pray to her and revere her as some sort of demi Godess and that we can ask to intercede on our behalf is contrary to Gods law and word as written in the Bible, the request that we not worship false idols, gods etc.. and the requirement that intercession be through Christ and Christ alone however is written ALL over the Bible... it can't be clearer really and is a repeated requirement..

Sad to say... Catholics have got it wrong.. if a Catholic is to consider themselves Christians and followers of Christ, and if they have a desire for salvation etc.... then they will have to start reading the Bible and living life in accordance with the world... in the Bible we are not given a choice how to practice... there are certain requirements.....

Baptism in water (which should be at an age where you actually understand what is going on)
Baptism in the Spirit (very important, as it allows the Christian to mature spiritually)
Love God the Father and Jesus and accept that he died for our sins
Keep the commandments
and love others as yourself..

All this celibacy nonsense, worshipping Mary, the saints, baptism at childhood etc.. etc.. etc.... NONE of it scriptural... it is the biggest hoax of the century laugh

RE: Should I go on a date with this guy?

I say go for it!!.. take it slow though.. as a couple of broken hearts.. or his broken heart could ruin the dynamic of your friendship... if you take it slow much less chance of that...

Best of luck thumbs up

Catholism, Mary and 'False Gods'..

The thing is Mary must have been a very special person indeed, having received one of the highest annointed tasks in the history of the Bible... however, we are not to pray to her... the Catholic church have soooo much to answer for... I don't blame Catholics.. .most of them have never read the Bible and the Church certainly were not motivated to enlighten them.. for whatever reason.. who knows.. Catholics themselves (as in the members of the congregation....lovely people most of them...no issue with them...

wave...

Yes.. actually at the crucifiction scene in the Bible.. his mother Mary was simply referred to as the 'other Mary'... Mary Magedeline had more mention in the Bible than Mary....

Catholism, Mary and 'False Gods'..

The Vatican scare me.. am deeply mistrustful of them.. think they have all sold their souls to Satan long ago...uh oh

And... doesn't suprise me at all!!!

Catholism, Mary and 'False Gods'..

I was born into Catholicism as a consequence of being Irish and having Catholic parents.. had to be baptised first obviously, but you get the picture...

Matt 12:47/48 'then one said to him. 'look, your mother and your brothers are stading outside, seeking to speak to you.'but he answered and said to the one who told him'who is my mother and who are my brothers' and he stretched out his hand toward his disciples and said, 'here are my mother and my brothers' 'for whoever does the will of my father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother'... while that seems harsh it illustrates Mary's role, she was annointed by God with the divine task of giving birth to Jesus the Christ and son of God,... as prophesised she was from the sacred bloodline of Abraham and a virgin... she was 'found with child of the Holy Spirit' Matt 1:18.. you see she was only a vessel to speak, as the son of God, he was born of the Holy Spirit...

It is positively forbidden in the Bible to pray to anyone other than God (through the Son.. who is God).. we are not meant to pray to saints... and essentially as an annointed one that is all she was..... so by worshipping and praying to Mary, we offend God's word and law... like me (an apparently you) and many (if not most other Catholics) the Bible study was all but left out of our Religious experience... I wonder why sometimes....

Can you point out the bit in the Bible where Jesus asks us to honour him as our mother, I was completely unaware of this.

ROMAN CATHOLICISM TEACHES

Omnipotence of Mary:

Catholism, Mary and 'False Gods'..

As someone who was born into the Catholic Church and who as a child was required to partake in the various rituals and practices (Holy Communion, and Confirmation etc) it never ceases to amaze me how a whole body of people, an entire church spanning several continents could get it so wrong.. in fact it makes me deeply suspicious.. Mary (the mother of Jesus)is hardly mentioned in the Bible, in fact in a number of verses she is referred to as the mother of Jesus's brothers, and 'the other Mary'.... and yet she is worshippes as a God and has been worshipped as a God for centuries.... did nobody from the church or from its congregation ever think to question... Mary is important, in the way that the various Prophets were.. she is an annointed one, annointed for a very special and devine purpose, but as we do not pray to the prophets, neither should we pray to Mary...

Catholics... I urge you to actually READ the bible sometime..

Now don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with Catholics, in the sense that they are in the main, good people with a sincere intention to do what is right, its just that 'what is right' has been wrongly fed to them by a Church, which is at its core, misguided, with the intention to misguide...

Any comments?

RE: Can you give the philosophy of life in a sentence ?

Your life isn't your own without other people, it belongs to misery, that colourful array of sounds is your reason for being, dont look to the dark side, look to the bright, it is the signature in every pictureteddybear

RE: how many gods are there ? what does a god really do ? and what people do god or gods really like ?

I had trouble with that one too initially but given he is all knowing and omnipresent he knows all our mistakes and decisions before we make them.. the fact that he does not intervene (unless very serious) is the free will element...

Anyway.. between Crotulus.. or whatever his name is and thomaspatrick.. I have had all the negativity I can take for one evening.. so nite night sweetie.. chat tomorrow when hopefully I will be in better form... laugh hug
