People get different things out of the forums.. some like a good intelligent debate.. some like to discuss relationships and the like.. some banter relax and have a good laugh.. everyone to their own.. like in RL I guess...
What I get out of them differs in accordance with how I am feeling sometimes I just was a LARGE glass of wine and a giggle, sometimes I like a good discussion...
One thing I will say though is that I have never felt unwelcome in the chit chat threads.. they might have their own thing going on, but it is never to the exclusion of other.. not in my view anyway
Coming from what is potentially 'polar opposites' I am not sure I would have the means or even the words to explain any more adequately than I have already attempted to.. just one of those things I guess..
Yes the 'alpha' and the 'omega' the beginning and the end the grand creator of this grand design... we are part of his universe, we are all connected through him, with him and in him.. it is hard to describe.. and I won't have the arrogance to assume that I have all the answers..
What do you believe Patrick.. any thought on what has been said so far.. I know that you are the type of person who requires scientific confirmation of facts.. do you believe in any entity outside urself.. like BnaturAl for example.. he has his own unique spiritual beliefs which are nevertheless spritual in origin.. whats ur take? am curious
Yeah I know.. I prefer to know a little about a person first before I engage in any furthe conversation with them.. now while my judgment is rather flawed at times .. I still prefer it this way.. guys sending me flowers and telling me I am 'pretty' 'beautiful' etc.. or mails with 'hi how are u?' just don't inspire me to engage.. when I see a person interact on the forum it inspires me to want to be friends with them.. and I guess its just circumstances after that.. not all interactions will lead to anything but its nice to chat to people that you find interesting and that u like as people...
Forum posts... definitely number one... and then a witty introduction in the profile... then picture.. then occupation.. I like creative and educated people... although I know its not necessary cause the most intelligent people I have known have not been educated (in the conventional way).. but I do look I have to confess...
I think in order to have any kind of understanding of God (internally) you have to disregard Religion altogether.. well Religious Dogma at least.. I think that if anything it actually diverts peoples attentions away from God.. God is within, and all around us.. I feel if a persons heart and mind are open u are more likely to find God in ur deepest thought and feelings and in all the beauty that is around us.. and even in other people JMO
I agree with you on the God 'within' part however.. 'much harm has been done by us humans in the name of RELIGION... there is a difference I am afraid.. Religion sucks!!!! JMO
Sorry Charlos.. but this is not the case.. much of 'science' is based on hypothesis and theory... some things....like the existence of God (or otherwise) simply cannot be proven (on the basis of hard fact).... although a lot of modern scientists based on their observations... concede that while they are not in a position to 'prove' his existence per se, they are at a loss to find another logical alternative.. going to work soon but will find some quotes later to illustrate this
I have a few quotes in a Cosmology book... including some by Einstein.. wondering at the universe.. and in awe of whatever entity created it.. cause he believed it must have had a beginning and a purpose..
Such arrogance.. to assume otherwise.. I believe what I believe granted on faith.. but I cannot assume that I am correct(although I believe I am right if that makes sense) and impose that belief on others..
A cats life does that count.. oh and also once a babies pram got caught in the 'gap' between the tube and the platform in london... the mother was just panicking and trying to dislodge the pram.. I went straight for the baby to unhook the straps and get her out of the pram.. I just figured if the train does move.. better get the baby out first.. thankfully both baby and pram were dislodged. but that was possibly the most tense 30 seconds of my life.. scary
RE: Why do you think we are here? What is the lesson we are all trying to learn?
