In New Zealand, we don't have tarriffs on anything... nada, zilch tarriffs on anything we import, even if we make the same or a similar item here. It works just fine for us and keeps consumer costs down.
What we do have though, is anti-dumping laws, where the E.U. for example, cannot export product to New Zealand at simply the cost of manfacture or less (dumping).
You E.U. people should try this some time instead of allowing yourselves to be ripped of with inflated protectionist prices of local products.
He's no longer looking for it. He's found it lol. He raises a valid point though. But.... the same can be said for the guys on CS. It's not a gender thing.
All I can say is, having "touched base" on here, the next ultra important step is meeting one on one. For a lot, this doesn't happen for legitimate reasons of distance etc. Just because he/she has been on CS for 5 years or so, doesn't mean he or she isn't genuine.
@ Bear. So.... what you're saying (in a roundabout way) is "different strokes for different folks?"
@ Pedro. You've posted on here a staggering 29,400 times! Now.... you ask the ladies of CS this? By now, you of all people should know that your thread will go nowhere unless you get rid of your current profile pic and replace it with a below your waist only pic of your whopper
Just this week I was approached by a local woman on here. First a like, which I replied to, then a couple of messages from her. She had a really believable profile with a seemingly genuine pic. Then................... "POOF".... gone! No trace of her on the site, plus all messages from her gone from my mailbox.
So yeah, the devil comes in many guises! Be careful out there.
Yeah..... these employer arranged after-work functions can be a bit of a trap. I used to restrict myself and only attend the annual Christmas function. That said, I would often have friday after-work drinks and maybe a meal, with a few like-minded colleagues. Seems to me that you're striking a good balance with your choice of attendance. Nothing worse than attending worthless functions that you feel obligated to attend.
Well I watched the whole speech. There's no way Trump backed Russia. In effect, he was neutral and took Putin at his word. He didn't say he believed Putin though. He was also neutral insofar American "Intelligence' (an oxymoron, if there ever was one) Agencies, which is right and proper of him until those agencies give him irrefutable proof, insofar Russian State meddling in the US elections.
If we don't want to crash and burn, we sometimes need to make instant decisions, often described as knee-jerk reactions. All of us do that.
On the other hand, where a situation is full of complexities, only fools rush in. So, the time taken to reason things to a logical conclusion is predicated on the number and nature of the complexities. How long is a piece of string?
Agreed! Trump is head of state of the USA and represents all people of the USA, no matter what you may think of him personally. Flying that balloon is a gross disrespect to the people of the USA and yes, VERY childish.
We're in the process of discontinuing supermarket single-use plastic bags right now.
The new multi-trip bags are stylish, easy to carry & hold more.
There's a lot of totally excessive plastic packaging for products as well, fresh veggies for example, that also need to be dealt with. Countdown Supermarket here has introduced new plastic trays for meat that are often twice the size that's needed... if plastic trays are really needed at all?
I'm for (plastic) shrink-wrapping of perishables such as meat etc, that need protection from human touch.
