Suicide is, be definition, some taking their own life.
"Assisted suicide" is therefore a contradiction in terms.
What the euthanasia industry are demanding is not "suicide" (something we have always had). What they are demanding is that murder (i.e. one person killing another) be legally permissible in certain circumstances.
It would, in my view, be naive to believe that the climate change protests of mid March were not promoted by the teaching industry. Indeed, in this country at least, the teachers gave all the kids the day off, so they could go to the protest! (Or McDonalds).
In 1984, "nuclear free zones" were all the rage. My teacher at the time attempted to bully the class to vote in favour of declaring our classroom "nuclear free". She was nice about it, but it was a pretty one-sided argument she put before us, and her intentions were clear. I was the only one to vote against.
Teachers have always been using kids to suit their own agendas. Just like parents do. In my view, however, parents have more right to do this.
It would be a brave man who could seriously claim that the UK emerged from WWII in any way "winners".
The country was bankrupt, the Empire was lost, and Britain's standing in the world for forever gone.
The only country that really won was the Soviet Union (and they lost a lot too). It could also perhaps be argued that Israel emerged a victor, in a sense.......
In my country, teachers, who are already very well paid, and who get 10 weeks of paid holidays every year, are always demanding more money and going on strike to get it. They're like pigs at a trough!
But having said that, there may at times be legitimate things to protest about. I do, however, dislike teachers using their pupils as political pawns (as we saw recently with the climate change protests).
Certainly, in this country at least, the term "skinhead" means a person who both has a shaven head, and adheres to skinhead culture (braces, Doc Marten boots etc) and who has a right-wing political orientation.
In this country we would never, ever, ever refer to someone as a "skinhead" just because they have a shaven head.
I don't like meat. I just don't like the taste of it. But I force myself to eat it because it seems a sensible thing to do, and because humans are naturally omnivores.
I did hear an interesting radio interview a few weeks back, with an expert who opined that we eat much, more, more meat than humans did even a hundred years ago. Meat has always been expensive, but now that everyone is middle-class and has a much better income, we can afford it much more easily. In the past, only the rich could afford to buy and eat meat in the way we all do today. A valid point.
Police have arrested and charged a man with a criminal offence for standing out the same mosque where many people died, and shouting "screw Muslims, send them home" (or words to that effect). There is no indication he was violent in any way, other than verbally.
An incredibly stupid and insensitive thing to do, and the man must be rightly condemned. But I am not convinced it should be a criminal matter.
The man was wearing a Trump t-shirt, which of course will see all Trump supporters blamed for his actions. I own a Trump t-shirt, and have a Trump sticker on my car, but in case anyone is wondering, it wasn't me!
I will ignore this, as I ignore all threads in which multiple people post videos, for the simple reason that posting multiple videos on a thread makes the thread painfully slow (and then some) to open.
