I know what you mean but because they dont want to be involved do you think it should be just left at that?
I ask because my ex husband has never had any interest in being part of our childrens lives, I could have gone to court and forced the issue but decided I didnt want my children to know that their Dad was only seeing them because a judge said he should.

I dont think it is as simple as 'if they dont want to be a Father' if a guy is a Farther it si a fact, he cant decide not to be, yes he should have rights he should also have responsibilty.
Yes it certainly should. Broke my heart to see the hoops my brother had to jump through to get to see his daughter. Took 2 years of back and fort to courts, was an awful time for the whole family.
The fact that a Father has no automatic rights because a couple is not married is wrong IMO
