Everyon's different. I have a one strike you're out policy. My wife and I were together for 13 years, but she destroyed a level of trust that can never be regained, so as much as it hurts, it's over, we'll never have that back again.
If another man can get past that, more power to him.
Huntington's disease runs in my ex-wife's family, SOmetimes the end can justify the means, I wouldn't mind living in a world where we no longer have to watch loved ones suffer slowly and die young.
A world where there's enough food and resources to go around doesn't sound that bad either.
From an alternative view, if you believe in the possibility of reincarnation, there would be the possibility of experiencing a world with all the bumps smoothed out generations from now.
Then again a perfect world would most likely be boring.
To sum up.. I'm more concerned with paying my mortgage than I am about eugenics, just wanted to throw my 2 cents in.
I emptied my 401k into a multifamily home here in CT while living in NY w/ my ex wife.
I worked 7 days a week for a year, ripping the place apart and putting it back together (m-f NY 2 hr drive to work on the house on the weekends)
I thought I found the perfect tenants, A mom, dad and 1 kid, perfect for a 2 bedroom apartment, dad worked full time mom was home with disability income and she could keep an eye on the kid.
Perfect, right?
They paid 1 month rent and 1 month security and stopped paying altogether.
My wife and I rented in NY so we were forced to carry our rent in NY and the mortgage in CT, at that point there was no money for both.
It took 3 months to evict them and when I finally got inside they had destroyed the place.
I don't know how many additional people they moved in but I removed 9 full sized matressess and months of collected, rotting garbage.
They kicked through doors and walls, I even had to clean food off the ceilings.
Needless to say, it was emotionally and financially devastating. We couldn't afford to put all that work back into the place and it was unrentable, so we scrambled for work in CT and moved in to fix the place while we lived in it.
After 13 years together, she left me for an a**hole she worked with for a few months.
I have a judgement against the tenants for the $11,000 for the damages they left behind, but even if I ever collect on that, I'll never regain my true losses from the nightmare they caused.
If everyone is so comfortable being single then why participate on these websites? I think the purpose of joinig these things is to meet someone you click with and if all goes well, no longer be single.
I don't know about everyone else but I'm looking for companionship. I love my dog and all but his conversational skills only go so far.
RE: solar eclipse.........
