Get a dictionary! To love without expectation is completely different than to love unconditionally. To love unconditionally is to love in spite of any actions that person could do. I would still love my child if they killed someone... I wouldn´t continue to love any one else if they killed my child...

An extreme example I know...

Cheating... I could probably get over as a one off... deliberate cruelty or lying are 2 things I couldn´t forgive and would make me stop loving a person.

I think a certain amount of "stone collecting" is valubal to all of us... after all how do you know you have a diamond if you´ve never had a stone... Everyone we meet, every experience we have takes us to the point we are at now... and has contributed to the person we are.

I really don´t understand your post... nothing in your profile says "I´m poor and old"... which makes me wonder... is the problem you are having with age the fact that you are going after women much younger than yourself and you´re finding that to be a problem?

The reality is that if a man is older and looking for a piece of arm candy than he better be bringing something to the table... usually security...

All of the above!!!! I was dancing with a really good looking guy in a club last summer and had he been a bit patient he would have been "in like Flynn"... but he made the mistake of leaning over and graphically whispering what he wanted to do to me... well everything he wanted to do sounded great and if he had let things progress to that stage naturally.... but he blew it by saying too much too soon!!!!

I can´t imagine ever saying "never again". If we don´t open ourselves up to hurt we don´t open ourselves up to pleasure either. Personally I feel that living a life without taking risks or chances is only living half a life.

There is so much that people can do and you don´t have to be a millionaire like Oprah to do it.

I have a friend here in Ibiza that started a childrens orphanage in Cambodia... there are several of us here that help to support it with fundraisers etc. for anyone interested this is the link to their website...http://www.cambodian-orphans.org/

I host a fundraiser that usually earns about 2000 euros... a restaurant owner has added a .50 cent surcharge to each meal... last year he was able to buy the orphanage a van for transporting the children...

There is soooo much that each of us can do and I agree with the above posts that Education is key in these areas!!!

It depends what your problems are.... and what you want to escape from. I was to caught up in materialism and the old consumer lifestyle.... getting away from all that was the best thing I ever did!

This is why I hate terms like "soul mate" or "other half"... if you´re not a complete person on your own then you "need" someone to complete you... I can´t abide "needy" people!

Saying that... I think it´s important when two people become a couple to share each others passions even if it´s not something you personally enjoy. I´m not a big "footy" fan but I have no problem hosting the boys over to watch a match or going to the pub with my guy to watch... and I hope that he would be willing to graciously do the same for me...(nothing worse then someone letting it be known that they´re doing something "under duress"... in that case, don´t do it!!!)

I guess you could say that I did "run away" When my daughter moved to Australia I tied up my loose ends, sold my business and went backpacking around the world for 3 years... Then I settled on a little island off the coast of Spain... which seems so removed from the day to day crap I lived with in the States. Some would see it as an escape, I see it as living the life that suits me!

I think it depends on the people involved and their attitude about break ups... for myself I never end a relationship unless I know there is no hope, that things are truly over. There are other people who seem to break up and get back together on a weekly basis...

I guess I´m a bit surgical when it comes to ending a relationship... it´s over and done and there is no going back for me and I don´t carry any emotional baggage forward with me... so when I separated I was truly "single" except for the paper work.

I don´t think there is such a thing as "first date etiquette"... it´s what ever feels right for the 2 people involved. There are those first dates that turn into 3 days and nights... and there are the ones that last and hour or two with a cup of coffee... it´s all about the connection!

One of the joys of living in a small village.... we are already starting the Easter Celebrations and middle of town has been transformed to food, drink and craft booths... at night there will be musicians performing and everyone from kids to grandparents will be out and about over the weekend! I love it!

The US flattened a 2 city block area in Panama on a "tip" that Noriega was in the area... guess what? No Noriega... and instead civilians paid the price.... will the US never learn?
