Same here. It just dawned on me it was 13 years ago. Mom still lives, and ever so appreciates the kids stuffing dad and having him mounted! (Okay lord. maybe do NOT forgive me for that one and send me straight to hell!)
Hey, a farm-boy who has been through 5 home deaths. We all die, and in my family, we treat it the same way as birth!!! Expensive! (okay lord,...that was sort of funny...huh?)
Yes, he certainly did. He choose to remove himself from kidney dialysis after 80 years of life and seven years of end-stage kidney failure. He removed the "burden of choice" from us, but still, a hard moment to lose a parent no matter the venue.
No, it is never easy. But to know it has been discussed and is fully understood makes a monumental difference. We must all accept the fact that we are mortal. My deepest sympathies regarding your loss.
I am confused. That is EXACTLY the kind of decision I would want made by SOMEONE WHO LOVED ME!" This is why it is important to pre-discuss these kind of decisions.
Hey legs....you know in your heart that what was mom's wish. It IS NOT easy - thus my inappropriate last post - but dad would have pissed himself laughing at the joke! I already have in place a DNR clause within my will.....we are all mortal! Yes, even Canadians!
Saddest day - A day is to be appreciated - I am alive, so the saddest day, the day of my death, is yet to come! Happiest Day - The day of my death, for I will not be around to whine and complain!
Okay...to be serious,,,
The day my aging father developed jaundice and then contracted rabies...and I had to put Old Yeller down.... (lord, forgive me for that one!)
So,...go to school young lad! To fly a RW? Gather up the collective, grab your joystick, and shuffle your feet! (When you learn, you will laugh at this sad joke!)
Weather is whacked. Wet one day, heat warnings the next. Smoke from BC (not the good stuff either!) Other than that, crap it is already August! Almost time to start digging out the snow tires!
Hell gal, most Canuck males can write their name in the snow by bouncing it off a tree (a slowly dying art-form....the Tree-Pee Artwork, first developed by the indigenous cultures near Lake Ontario!)
Long ago, Canada looked upon Scotland and their two games, golf and curling - and we said, we must steal one. Golf? They can sink a putt at 400 yards, drive a tee-shot 1200 yards with a three iron! Their massive balls drag across the highlands from beneath their kilts, leaving divots down the fairway as they exercise their mastery of one of their two national games. As Canadians, we noticed when they stepped out onto the curling rink, their nuts froze to the ice and they couldn't curl with a damn!
Yup, you think break left, then drift right,...and right about at 315 yards the pout drifts right....then decides to come back left. I hate the way the short game often becomes problematic.
RE: a big mistake
At least you didn't end up with my crew in Area 51....too warm in Roswell!
