RE: Matrix

Interesting film trilogy

RE: Any well educated scientific-types out there to help with a few questions?

To Question 1

No, tis a myth about the fridge. Keep alkaline dry cells COOL and DRY. I have some 11 year old ni-cad dry cells that are STILL very charged! Just kept in a cool dry place. The freezer "trick", in my experience, has actually shortened the lives.

RE: Almost 8 years here and....

Myself as well! Met my wife on this site. This site, like any other venue, is just an "opportunity!" Best of luck to the OP!!cheers

RE: How do you like your garden?

hug hug hug Hi legs...hell, not even sure why I am back! grin

RE: How do you like your garden?

Nah....hug

Gotta leave for a few days/weeks.....getting stired up again.....time to gardening....wtf!!?? Crap...SNOW! doh doh

RE: How do you like your garden?

LOL! I wish! Last years garden was a failure! Between weather and weeds I looked more like a vacant lot than a beautiful country home!! But I try...and gardening is just that...outside, enjoying the sun, working with nature...and questioning one's nudity with so many mosquitoes out and about! laugh grin

RE: The van Allen belt

Experts? I am unaware of these "works". Please....some names so I may research.

RE: The van Allen belt

And which works do you "quote" as substantiating these holes and flaws? Darwin and Mendel. off the top of my head, their work....rather than "natural selection" we have accelerated the concept to "selective breeding". Their theories and research work in that regard.

RE: The van Allen belt

Yupcheers

RE: The van Allen belt

You must begin to "quote" and give reference to these "experts articles" of which you speak, for I have yet to read them. If you were referring to "dark energy/matter", "M-theory aka "string-theory"...yeah, experts admit these postulations are reflective of present-day ignorance....but the Van Allen Radiation Belt???? The "Aurora", the "Belt", the fact that a compass works....maybe I am missing something...??

RE: The van Allen belt

Okay, now that got me laughing!rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

RE: The van Allen belt

There are actually, very few countries where fossils have not been found....yet. Less than two centuries ago, nothing had ever been found where I live. Now, the badlands of Alberta are considered on of the most fossil-rich areas on the planet. (Fossils not only from the Cretaceous, Jurassic and Triassic, but back to BEFORE dinosaurs into the Cambrian.)

The Van Allen Radiation Belt...hell, I learned about it back in school in the early sixties. It is a result of earth's magnetosphere.

Don't get me wrong...I am not trying to "hack" on you or slam your opinion(s). I respect beliefs in a creator, and although not mine, who am I to say? I will, however, put forth the fact I enjoy to read published works (from both sides) in an attempt to understand and find answers to all of our questions. Scriptures, from whatever faith, have changed little over the centuries, and although I do not discharge their importance to humanity, I feel they do little to answer many questions. Heck, even the Pope is cool with science!

Religion is an attempt to understand the "heart" of God. Science is an attempt to understand the "mind" of god.

RE: The van Allen belt

Any good biology book will tell you what came before dinosaurs.

RE: The van Allen belt

It is the fact that our planet is a magnetic dipole planet and has a magnetosphere that offers us protection...the Van Allen Radiation belt are "harmful" particles captured by said magnetosphere. The VARB hinders both space travel and is problematic to satellites.

RE: Cuba's Fidel Castro Dies

Someone who has done some reading! cheers

RE: How do you like your garden?

I love gardening. I live in the country and have massive creations that are WAY too much work! lol. I love a bit of formal....and lots of "blend into nature" aspects. Now that it is "winter" here....all the seed catalogs are showing up!

RE: Which super hero is your favorite?

My first few comic books were of the 10 cent nature....then, gasp, they went up to 12 cents!!!

Although the Marvel Universe has definitely won the move to the big screen....and although I do enjoy Marvel....Superman was the first, and his comic books have made me some decent coin!

RE: What is a mongrel ?

So true....at the end of the day....we are but ONE species.....

RE: Women are an enigma/indomitable!

Nice to meet you! I enjoy the fluorite I have collected in your State, HATE those Stanley Cup stealing Black Hawks,....and yes, abstinence for THAT long is truly impossible for ANY warm-blooded creature!!cheers grin hug

RE: THE GREATEST WARRIOR FOR AMERICA

Up yours ya Kiwi yanker!

Oops,...sorry....wrong thread!

Your Commonwealth, beaver-humping....wtf is with my bees.....friend.

RE: Women are an enigma/indomitable!

I fell in love with a mere woman....I gave her no pedestal....unfortunately....she indeed became a princess and an angel....and I must now live with this "curse!"grin cheers rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing I thank you for a great "chuckle!"

RE: Women are an enigma/indomitable!

Hey,...been awhile! (Had to change the name a bit!)hug hug

I haven't even figured myself out,...let alone the beautiful mystery called "woman". Then again....male/female....ALL species....that is how we reproduce and continue the species.....oh well, I overthink and should learn how to paint with oil! (I hear Da Vinci did a few that are worth a buck or two!)

RE: Women are an enigma/indomitable!

rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing Mosquitoes are also annoying....nothing a "swat" or two wink won't cure!

Women are indeed a bit annoying....and it is the most amazingly pleasurable annoyance I can barely fathom!

RE: Women are an enigma/indomitable!

Abstain for a few hundred years???????????? Are ya daft my fellow Canuck???

RE: THE GREATEST WARRIOR FOR AMERICA

I disagree. The TRUE American warrior....is any given American citizen that cares and gives an honest effort to their country....yes,...in my mind, that is the TRUE AMERICAN warrior. It is NOT your president that makes you great! That is political diatribe BS! It is what you, as a countryman (person? sorry....used to the old way of writing) decide and put forth with your efforts. Time to UNIFY!! (And if you cannot,...so much for GREATNESS!)

RE: ladies what do you think about bolding men

And if THAT did not answer the OP's question, nothing else will! wink

RE: ladies what do you think about bolding men

And that is what the OP must understand.....their is so much more to a person than a given superficial aspect! Granted, a lot of guys freak out when the hair heads south, but rather than waste enormous anounts of money trying to defeat the inevitable, accentuate the other aspects of who you are (I was joking a bit in my post...my bank account isn't all that large! grin )

I hope all is well with you!

RE: A woman. is a most powerful creation

They are the bearers of our species! And they smell real nice! They are an amazing FACET of why I enjoy life!

RE: Questions No One Can Answer

Mr Know It All....brain fart on his very first reply! rolling on the floor laughing Meant to say :more mass-related term of "dropping"doh doh doh

RE: Questions No One Can Answer

Phhfft! Mr "know it All" here,...can answer them ALL....but...one at a time...so #1...

Rain does indeed "drop"....matter of weight (snow is more crystalline and of far lesser weight and more subject to the effects of wind...thus it "falls" as opposed to a more mass-related term of "falling". But, accumulations of rain are always referred to as rainfall, not rain drop....its all about name....a raindrop versus a snow....flake.?? hug rolling on the floor laughing Stay tuned for more superlatively BRILLIANT answers!professor rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing
