No, firstly, Mexico is DEFINITELY North America! Getting cold here as well (but Canada's definition of cold may differ a bit from Mexico's!!) Trade agreements....I am very familiar with those affecting North America.

But I have to admit...you have me scratching my head....from what I can gather, Central America is ALSO considered part of North America (continent wise)....by some, and part of South America by others....but Mexico? BIGTIME - North America!

Yes, trade is a very complicated matter. Up here many are giving our leader "hell" for so quickly saying he is willing to renegotiate NAFTA (but he responded saying that if the USA wishes to renegotiate he will sit at the table looking for additional Canadian benefits). It is difficult for me to speak beyond my myopic perspective of being in a global "trade machine) when it comes to the US/Canada relationship and trade. Are we mere "puppets" of the USA? In certain aspects - yes. In other regards - no. Many professionals up here LEAP at the chance to move to the US....a brain and talent drain. Many companies also willing jump to the US if the opportunity arises.

The whole situation is beyond my comprehension!

Oh, I as well am looking at the more practical and day-to-day aspects of a Trump Presidency. Already his protectionist "talk" (and he is certainly allowed to do that for he represents the citizens of the USA) and talk of re-negotiating trade agreements, are without a doubt, of great interest and importance to Canada.

The USA has prospered under some amazing Presidents, and admirably survived some, well, bad presidents. Likewise here in Canada, we have had some great Prime Ministers and some who stunk, yet here I sit. I will sit here patiently allowing the USA to be introspective for a bit, before they have to settle down and adapt to a change in leadership. Only time will tell....and as always, Canada will remain steadfast friends!

It is with a fawned interest that I read all the diatribe regarding the USA election. Interesting to say the least.

I am a white anglo-Euro CANUCK. I live in the frozen part of North America, and my brothers/sisters, frères/ sœurs. hermanos hermanas....we are the first at the "front". This is my home....I am but minutes from being into the USA,...quit your worrying...we will let the world know if this isn't working....look,...the USA/Canada relationship is unmatched on this planet...they are indeed the ELEVENTH province! Mexico is the TWELVETH!


I read posts worrying about global ramifications....every DAY its a couple of billion in the trade of trinkets up here! I would never forsake my ancestry, nor the COMMONWEALTH...however, realize,...I have seen nukes on this soil, understand NORAD and the DEW line....the only defense we have on the border is in regards to meat products and cocaine....if any countries should be worried, it should be Mexico and Canada! Until we start crying,...world....ssshhh! We will keep you posted! Ya all need to chill....we will be the first to "realize" the impact of a new USA government....

Been awhile! What an election! My word....but, despite the rhetoric....I believe I have stated my position. I am neither FOR nor AGAINST your POTUS-elect.....that was your countries choice....as always....friends shall the USA and Canada be (now GIVE US OUR STANLEY CUP BACK!)

There has even been talk we should become one as a nation....
