Go out on a limb. Answer it anyway you like.

We can sort it out later.

You might teach us something...

RE: Dysfunctional Boeing airplanes

RE: red sea to the rescue

The top of the springs' rocks are covered with green biofilms, which use both sunlight and sulfide—naturally occurring chemicals from the springs—to survive. Exclusively sulfide-eating bacteria coat the bottoms of the rocks in a white biofilm.
Bacterial mats or biofilms have never been found in the Dead Sea before. You can see the films of green photosynthetic bacteria on top of a rock and a film of white sulfide-oxidizing bacteria underneath it in the very last scene of the movie.

RE: red sea to the rescue

Deader than Dead?

RE: From Front Door to Bedroom...

Is this something else you didn't discuss?

RE: From Front Door to Bedroom...

You people are tame!

Are you both fridgid?

RE: Have you got the guts to say what you really want in life?

What I really want in life, is to die without regrets.

That imlplies you ran out of air.

RE: does the weather effect your mood?

Oops, I transposed the numbers.

The record high was 89 degrees, until last year; when it got up to 90.

RE: does the weather effect your mood?

It got down to 47 degrees last winter!

I think the record high is 98 degrees.

I live in a rainforest; because I love the rain, we get rainbows every day, and don't have water bills.

If I don't like the weather where I am; and I can go a few miles to a totally different climate.

Here's the link to a map of how far I have to go in the next hour to get to a desert, or go skiing ...

And these are the words they posted with that map...

"From dry, coastal, desert strand to some of the wettest spots on earth, to hot humid tropical lushness to stark, barren, snow-capped mountains, our big island offers an astonishing array of climates. You have probably heard a similar oft-quoted line, “Hawaii has 11 of the world's 13 climate zones.” ... Tropical Rainy, 3.

If weather effects your mood, that's one of the easiest things to change.

Don't take psych meds, with all the horrible side effects: if moving will cure your ills.

RE: From a Distance.....

From a distance?

Yes-

God can see us through every eye, on every living creature that sees us.

But, he's also very close.

We are the temple of God.

God dwells in us; and God goes everywhere we go...

2 Corinthians 6:16
...for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

And God hears every "secret" we have...

Psalms 139:4
For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness?

2 Peter 3:10-11

RE: have you ever found a pretty soul on internet ?

I used to have a friend on CS.
Her name was Pat.

She was about 10 or 15 years older than me.

She was also one of my two friends on MySpace, besides Willie Nelson.

She liked to travel, and had pictures of herself hanging out with ligers, and stuff like that...

She was always going from Brighton to Africa, and other cool places I'd like to go.

We used to write each other regularly.

I really respected her a lot!

She just stopped writing, and her email was cancelled after that...

We never had any disagreements.

I'm pretty sure she's gone on ahead.

I really enjoyed knowing such a strong and free soul, and the long distance friendship we shared.

Maxine was also my friend here.

We used to hangout on Second Life together, and go skydiving, and sailing, riding unicorns, flying planes racing cars, and motorcycles.

We shacked up together in the Junkyard Blues club in cool houseboats, and we shared a super cool castle in the sky 10,000 feet above the blues club.

We never met in rl, and we never planned on it...

She had some bad health problems, and a virtual relationship was as close as we hoped for.

I got a real gf, and we lost contact for awhile...

When I came back here, she wasn't around anymore.

Her email address is also discontinued.

Her and Pat are the only two online people I considered to be my rl friend's.

God bless their beautiful souls.

The woman is always smarter; even if she's not a lady.

RE: Earth week

My grandma invented cocoa powder that you add hot water to.

My grandpa was manufacturing it.

Nestle's sent industrial sabatoures and spies in as employees; and they ripped off my grandparents.

On top of all the other reasons for not buying Nestle's: I have extra reasons.

You might enjoy his video.

I don't remember how many times I watched the four hour version.

His scale of black holes, to planets, and atoms, is in the first half of this one; which is the four hour version.

I'm looking forward to seeing the whole 8 hour video, that I posted this link for.

Euclidean math is good for hop scotch.

Non Euclidean math is necessary for building bridges; but...

"When scientists talk that (non Euclidian) kinda rubbish then they're not doing anything to help people understand somethign better..they're just full of BS really..."?

Would you rather have a hop scotch champion build our bridges?

Are the "scientists" who build bridges called, engineers?

In other words, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to use non Euclidean math, right?

The shortest distance between two points...

I was so excited when I woke up thinking of this around midnight, I couldn't sleep the rest of the night.

I thought I had considered something nobody else knew.

I felt almost as disappointed as vindicated, when I googled it, and found a page full of articles like this one...

Straight lines and perfect circles don't exist in reality, all perfect shapes are mathematical abstractions.

There are No Perfect Shapes in Material Reality
Straight lines and perfect circles don’t exist in reality; they are mathematical abstractions.

Therefore, there is no perfect line or circle in the entire universe (and unless you count imperfect shapes that constantly change at the quantum and molecular level as “perfect”).

In reality, all objects are three-dimensional objects in spacetime made of quanta, there are no exceptions.

We can represent a straight line or perfect circle with mathematics (the basis of geometry), or we can approximate it on paper or using a computer (the visual part of geometry), but we can never actually create a straight line or circle.

Luckily, approximating gets us close enough for geometry to be useful. The further we calculate a number, and the more pixels we use, the closer lines get to straight, and circles get to perfect but alas, a truly perfect shape is never created.

Like “infinity,” which is well represented in pi when calculating the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter, straight lines, and circles (and thus all perfect shapes) are metaphysical and theoretical. They are concepts that speak to real things, but they are not themselves real physical objects.

The concept of perfect shapes is a sort of transcendent rational thing of both metaphysics and physics.

Simply put, there are no perfect shapes in material reality.

MUSING: So “is geometry a lie” or “are we misunderstanding the universe by looking for perfect reflections of all our rational ideas in the material universe?” Or C, neither/both.

“Everything you’ve learned in school as ‘obvious’ becomes less and less obvious as you begin to study the universe. For example, there are no solids in the universe. There’s not even a suggestion of a solid. There are no absolute continuums. There are no surfaces. There are no straight lines.” – Quotations by R Buckminster Fuller.

That's what I thought...

Until I was laying in bed thinking the other night.

The shortest distance between the north and south pole... Is a half circle.

And if you extend a line into space...

Gravity will bend it!

Nope.

There's no such thing as a straight line.
