I have never watched Jeremy Kyle, I had to google him, Best and as for Jerry Springer, well only when I am in Sweden. Because they have this mad TV channel that is all American and I had to force a look at Dr Phil the other day, and those American audiences that shout and scream all the time... Oh my plastered God, it is appalling. I don't like TV, period unless it is a documentary or the BBC news.
Hi Roxaan, I think we all take a chance when we join places like this and trust is something that is built over time. This place is packed to the rafters with scammers, like any other place, but it has a high percentage of people who are genuine too and we must remember that and not become so distrusting that any person who contacts us is named a scammer straight away. Otherwise for those hoping to meet a person, then it becomes off putting to read in the forums that every person is a scammer.
Just because this man told this poster that she was beautiful and included a yahoo address, does not make him a scammer, yet he has been called one for pages, he may be completely genuine and be reading this and thinking to himself 'why bother'
A scammer will out themselves in no time, they usually cook their own goose especially with vigiliant people, it is about having the sense to keep one and one's money safe and also having some faith in the human race...
I have to say, that Sassy, you have raised some good points.
I do however, suggest that before you start posting that you read the rules, you seem proficient in what a forum is all about and I don't disagree with you, but there are many people that are friends here and do exchange greetings in a thread, that is human nature, it is a great way for people to remain in touch and also cheap.
Welcome to the forums and you will settle down and I don't think any person is picking on you, they may be a bit strident because they may feel you are picking on them, and who has not pissed another person of with a post before, I have many a time. There is a certain pack mentality here as there is on any forum, it happens, you can fight that, join it or ignore it. So I can see your point, and the newer members, especially those that are not afraid to speak out are often the ones who are given the hardest time.
Don't be so combative, which your posts are a little, relax, have some fun, you know the members are a really good bunch of guys and the forums are a riot at times.
And don't post emails either, it'll get you banned.
It is against the rules, because of the reasons you state Col, unfair and it could all be in innocence.
I do wonder how many people do actually read the rules, not to mention the scammer warnings before people start decalring that people are scammers. And those warnings are guidelines only. As brilliant as they are.
But no man needs to do that for me, I have plenty of clothes, shoes and jewellry, none of it is crap either.
If he can swing me around a dance floor, give me a good round of golf, pop to the Alps for some skiing, knows which cutlery to use always and can tie a tie and knows what a dinner suit should look like, then that is fine by me.
I married a country boy, which drove me mad sometimes, all that Sunday lunch every week with his parents drove me potty. Over boiled cauliflower and grey meat. It was enough to put me off cauliflower for life.
Then I was with an American man who lived in NY and I loved the city, but then we would escape to the country at times and that I loved also.
I am not a shopper, but I like the fact I can get to shops in a moment where I live now, but I am still in the country to satisfy the country need in me.
So, one who is content with both, basically can change from his suit to casual and hiking boots to tackle the Alps with me.
