If they are a charity and have no comercial dealings the tax man dont get a penny. If they have commercial dealings (aka Red Cross) the tax man takes normal business tax based on the commercial earnings including the charity chunk as well.

Religious charities no way jose, they have so much cash they dont know what to do with it. Red Cross, stopped donating blood to them after i found out they were processing it and then selling on the open market to the highest bidder.
