RE: What subjects should Not be aired here...?

I've never met a South African who tries to do things gently. What's not grabbing the bull by the horns about trying to civilise Africa? And who would be so mad as to let go of those horns? No one lets go of the horns without a bloody good exit strategy.

RE: ONE EARTH ONE NATION

Unfortunately DecentLove we'd have to be all able to die tomorrow, and not because of each other. The internet is the way that it is because it's only people who can hurt us now, hurt us in the most minor way imaginable. If you don't fancy the idea of conquering alien worlds out on the frontier, you could let the bears take over again. So long as the danger is real and present and sufficiently different to us, we'll be best of friends.

RE: ONE EARTH ONE NATION

A bit like the trans thing. If you create something even more foreign then you'll find a relative unity amongst that which was. It is thanks to the T that LGB can hang around with conservatives now without being battered. The overwhelming desire of narcissism is to have a sense of us against the world with an entrancement with your own uniqueness, and to unite the world this would have to become us against the universe, there needs to be something yet more foreign yet more alien a bit like David Bowie.

RE: ONE EARTH ONE NATION

A martian invasion would unite the earth and so would an intergalactic human species. Discover or create something even more foreign and then you'd have the unity of the earth. The nation of earth, the nation of Mars, the nation of alpha centauri..

Even if the earth became a utopia this would not cut the mustard. For narcissistic reasons alone there's always reason to be exceptional, different for the sake of being different even if peace and plenty and all of this was guaranteed.

RE: People that sponge...

It depends on the type of sponge. It's easy to help someone who would have given his life for you, it's not just any man but a poor man who would do that. You have to ask yourself the reason why they don't have any money? The bravest amongst us have no temperament for regular employment and sound investment.

RE: Fancy words just confuse...

I like when they use one word I don't understand, but it goes downhill from there. The worst for me are those who sound like a corporate flyer, to use a term like "human resources" off the clock not even being paid.

RE: Wind Farms Eyed In Surge Of Dead Whales On NJ, NY Beaches

Anyway it's not all doom and gloom, if people here say it's bad then there's probably a bounty of marine life down there thanks to wind turbines. If the death force says it's bad, it might actually be really good.

RE: The BOX - Anybody out of it...?

I'm sure we have our own reasons. Mine I think is my contrarian dad, we never could go anywhere and it just be normal.

RE: Isn't the internet wonderful

Village, town, city, world city, internet.

The spaces that are wonderfully dynamic and efficient are also full of rudeness. It's what we get from the numbers, the numbers and the mixture. The manners of a sailor with the suspicion of everyone you meet of a mall security guard, but which came first? The chicken or the egg?

RE: Silent treatment

That's manipulating yourself out of doing something you would regret, it's your behaviour controlled by yourself - a completely different thing entirely.

RE: Edication and Religion, why are so many looking as if they copied a template?

Not here. You can reinvent yourself on world of warcraft.

RE: Need More Money!

Well, at least Zelensky is still there where he could be killed. It doesn't look like he's living the high life in contrast to that tampered image

RE: Can someone make you sick from a distance...?

One example of this is the word "optics" which is another way of saying style over substance. This is really what the second religiousness is made out of; image is everything. This is the way the developed world is going, shallow and superficial and a part of this is the big other. We are not having a conversation with someone in the same room we are actually talking to an imaginary third party. It's scheming for something that would not be schemed for if it was you and them in the same room. This distance between us, this void, influences behaviour and it makes every conversation a question of popularity, popularity with your own milieu. It can only say or hear what its own kind wants to say or hear. Every conversation is a foregone conclusion.

RE: Can someone make you sick from a distance...?

Ultimately the answer has to be yes because the more connected we are, the more we fall apart.

The most intelligent thing would be to take everybody who lives in modern society and drop them individually in the jungle, and then allow the survivors to repopulate society. In this way we would all become a little bit more like DecentLove, it is not a coincidence that the most reasonable response comes from not just a man but a man who would die without his brain. The most backward surrounding + the less protected gender = a brain that has to work. To make the modern world intelligible the modern person would need to be dropped into the jungle, left to fend for himself. Or maybe a war. We'd have to create a situation where being wrong dies and being right lives.

RE: Korean Singers / Actors...

They make a great undead, truly lifeless as an undifferentiated mass.

RE: What does god judge you on in life's journey?

Your intentions obviously. That's what you really have control over, that's your decision, that's the thing to really be judged for even if it is the most non-obvious thing to be judge. We invented the great mind-reader in the sky for precisely this reason.

RE: Red Flags

Ignoring how and why a woman has so many things. She told me that her dad was loaded, yes, and if he was it's because he's the local mafia. Do be careful who you meet on the internet.

RE: What happens to people when they open their hearts?

And this is why I think life needs to be risky because the position of an old woman just makes people more suspicious. It's not just that old people and women never forget it's when this is in addition to not needing anyone anymore. Insurance and complete safety will make the average person behave like a cop in a security mom state of fascist cacoon. To not need anybody anymore, and to remember every slight, is a society that gives itself to the brutes in power.

RE: What happens to people when they open their hearts?

A young man's game or the young at heart. An open heart has no, or has completely forgotten, the past. And the soul is healed by those who have no past. The future belongs to new life and to those who move on. The past belongs to the dead and those who may as well be.

RE: What happens to people when they open their hearts?

They miss things that other people spot because they always see the good in people. They get injured a lot but they just won't tell you, they get into dangerous and unsafe situations and they just don't realise.

But in the meantime them and everyone around them gain through their trusting nature, the complete absence of an evil eye which is perhaps the healthiest way to get into trouble.

RE: a discussion on...mistakes in dating

There's always the one that got away, and then the next one that got away and the one after that. You just got to keep on trying.

RE: I wish women would make the first move!

You're better off making the first move unless you're wealthy enough to take the hit. Money can't buy you love but it can buy a simulation of love

RE: Devalue yourself

Do you mean farting in a pint or something equally disgusting, taking pictures without a shirt on?

RE: Empathy...

Then you've been sedated too long. Don't you find it amusing when someone new comes to the forum, new to any forum, and they're all respectful and reasonable as though they were having a conversation with someone in the same room? Suffice is to say that normal human beings stick out like a sore thumb on social media.

RE: Empathy...

Not an example I can personally relate to but childbirth is similar. Why did god make the strongest bond humanity has a complete agony? To me this explains why social media is the way that it is. Because it's not really there. It as humanity as though it was taking a lovely sedative that makes it not really there.

RE: Empathy...

I think that's a strange way that it works. The kindness of a stranger born out of knowing that you cannot depend on the kindness of strangers. It is actually the bullied and mistreated who become angels and devils contrasted against a backdrop of small and twatty.

RE: Empathy...

It's like physics I suppose. Love and hate, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction and I think the sting of injustice can work this way. How does one respond to persecution or simply the most rotten of luck? Not like Jesus because Jesus did it perfectly but all the same there's a tension, a double edged sword to know how it feels.

RE: Empathy...

Mind you empathy can also be a slippery one because you can be empathetic out of spite. I've been empathetic out of spite before, furious at the general public for leaving an old man broken down at the side of the road. What have we become? An action triggered by the inaction of others. I did care but really it took my disdain for the general public to bring it out.

RE: Empathy...

Walk a mile in my shoes and you'll never walk alone. That's what empathy is.

Compassion can be cold in it's comforting like a friendly dalek. You'll meet loads of doctors like this. Whether it's because they're a bit of a nerd to begin with or have just grown distant to protect their own mental health.

RE: Prince Harry's book

But does his wife love Harry?

If you had a cold family that doesn't really love you would you marry Meghan Markle as the answer? Actually, yes, you might. History might not repeat, but it does rhyme.
