RE: R.I.P. Jet Black

That's sad to know, I always liked the Stranglers. Punk rock only not so stupid

RE: Laziness and greed

And I think it's fair to give them the average pay rise of all private sector workers. The state of the private sector in the west can hardly pull rank over the public sector. I know we have our engineers who can command 15% pay rises but there's also a lot of tattoo parlours, pet grooming entrepreneurs and so on. It's hardly like the private sector is a stronghold of common sense and material resourcefulness, not anymore it's not, the money that flows through it is as unreal as anywhere else. We can hardly maintain that that is the honest living.

RE: Laziness and greed

I don't know the ins and outs of the negotiations but I would at least try to match not inflation but pay rises in the private sector. Nobody alive is without sin here and we do have to suffer for the decisions the country made. But none too much.

And you think of the NHS and they're not lazy but they are quite primitive. And one of the ways not to be primitive is to know your manpower isn't cheap. Wage pressure will force the uptake of technology and managers who, well, manage.

RE: Laziness and greed

We are all going to have to pay for printing money and the workhorse of the world no longer behaving as such. We're going to have pay everyone closer to inflation and put up with the extra 1-2% of inflation that it causes. If you want to limit the wage bill sack individuals, the individual who do no good, instead of putting everyone on the breadline. We're in real danger of making work pointless. I'd rather make pensioners and other welfarites pay over making work pointless.

RE: Airlines on strike

The pay rises will be fine so long as you can still fire people. These pay rises pay for themselves by causing a minority of the people who receive them to get fired, fired and replaced by a smarter way of doing things that costs a lot less. The real problem of the 1970s was that you couldn't fire anyone.

RE: Airlines on strike

It's not fair to target the public sector just in general when these can be the people who save our lives. No, you do this selectively by cancelling your TV license, you flush away what wreaks out of the dying BBC. The James Corden, the Russell Howard. The way that our wealth is expropriated to provide work for the worthless not the nurses.

RE: Airlines on strike

And as bad as inflation as may be it is completely deserved. It might be the least unfair way to right the economy from the nonsense of yesteryear. All of our likely and ill-gotten gains from the past must be devalued, they've always been a funny money con.

RE: What is Woke?

That'll be the weakness in woke. The ruling class cannot compute that which is outside the painstakingly obvious which will give rise to a new kind of white people who can read between the lines. Cool is the product of repression the westerner will be less easily taken advantage of when he is not the most privileged people ever to have lived. Woke truly grows out of the self-consciousness not of whites per se but whites as the most privileged people ever to have lived.

RE: Sauna is good for you

Saunas are a wonderful creation and the warmest place in the county. Use one regularly and you're 66% less likely to develop Alzheimer's, thought you'd like to know.

RE: What is Woke?

And the final problem with woke is the umbrella. It brought a lot under one roof ranging from things we should and could be concerned about along with other things which are highly luxurious to see as a problem. The environment is a problem much bigger than our ridiculous sense of etiquette. It's not political correctness gone mad to care about the environment even if outsourcing all our emissions to Russia is. And either way that's much bigger than the trans thing or the period dignity officer which I can't help but feel blazes new pathways to Wayne Couzens. It's asking the brutes to come to power without even realising.

RE: What is Woke?

It's cruel really to make a man who's been through the mill care about microaggression just as it was cruel to make Africa care about covid. Just because the poor will try and often fail to copy the rich does not mean we should encourage them to do this. Dedicating that much effort to our idea of a problem leaves them with no protection, absolutely nothing. Far more so than it does the golden(quarter)billion although we are by no means immune, we can't borrow money forever.

RE: What is Woke?

And that's another paradox of woke. Bringing in all these foreigners who could only be described as earthy into a society where you need a degree to stay out of jail it's so not casual in any way at all. You don't go to university to get a job, you go there to learn the formal behavior of the upper classes because it's illegal to be down to earth. You have to learn all the manners and rules that intuitively make no sense. University is not about being fit for the job, but learning the cultural habits of the upper classes.

RE: What is Woke?

Woke is an over-representation of minority groups in the media that angers the majority who would now screw those minorities over two-fold if there was no one to see it. The conspicuous consumption of diversity is extremely unpopular, I really would knock it on the head unless society miraculously becomes richer and younger.

RE: The North South Divide

A bit of truth in that. The south has a lot more people who look like elves and pixies paying for everything. To hear a bird's song costs a fiver, you know how to own nature down south

RE: A question to men without picture

All I know is that nothing good will come from the way things are today. To put a face up on the internet can only cause us to see the worst in that face. It's not personal but I would prefer not to be emotionally attached with the internet

RE: GENTLEMEN ONLY...Would you have a problem with this? If so, why?

I've never had that done to me, then again I've never really travelled abroad to meet a woman. Once to Paris and twice if Wales counts as abroad. But then again and again I've been talking to a number of people who do live abroad and never felt like I would be unwelcome in their home if they were willing to ask me to travel hundreds if not thousands of miles.

But then again I have a trustworthy face and I don't have an ulterior motive. A lot of the time people import a wife for a not nice reason, it doesn't scream of romance it screams of something to be got by it. One or even both sides using the other. Not necessarily, but yes there is the stench of desperation in the air.

Anyway, I still think you're both better staying at one of your friends. It doesn't just save money, you get a second opinion of the guy which you don't get from a hotel.

RE: LADIES ONLY...Which would you do, and why?

Or make a compromise if the woman lives alone and really feels intimidated with a strange man in the house. You and the strange man both stay at one of your friends, at least the first night.

RE: What is Woke?

And I don't think the modern state of education today fell from the sky, I believe there's a reason for it and that reason is complacency. The educated classes go through the motions of people who used to understand. Many of our professions are becoming an illusion where the system decides what is to be done and the man is more like a technician. A monkey could do it and it's a circle of monkeys imitating the old circle of monkeys. It doesn't know why the old monkeys behaved this way, or whether that reason still applies, but going through those motions gives a nice image of people who know what what they're doing.

RE: What is Woke?

Woke makes a lot more sense when you remember that university, 80% of the time, is a diploma mill designed to instill debt and creed. It is there to instill debt and neopuritan creed in the young, and to provide work for the older generation. That is the purpose.

RE: What is Woke?

And what I think woke reveals is the inadequacy of our educated classes. Sending remedials to university didn't raise their game, it lowered all our standards of what we consider. We now have anti-intellectual and unprofessional "educated" classes as a result of sending remedials to university.

RE: What is Woke?

Go on to reddit and you'll find people offended in like they are here, but for the opposite reasons pretty much. And that's not the problem neither however much we might like it if they were different. The state and the professions have so much more power than we do and therefore have so much more responsibility than we do in our free time, and more than this we're supposed to get an equal say in these things as voters and as taxpayers. Our free time is not the same as people we pay to do the job properly (apparently), they have a professional and public obligation to not talk over the lions share of the general public.

RE: What is Woke?

All the same it's not the same. It doesn't matter if there isn't room here for someone who stands against everything you believe in, but it does that matter if the state and academia have no room for people who stand against everything you believe in. It's not the same to hold Mr Nobody Love to the same standard as those in power. The real problem is that university and the professions contain such vehement anti-intellectualism.

RE: if you were God??????

I don't think I'd even go back and undo lockdown. I wouldn't undo what the masters of the universe did because no one knows what the future would bring. They already say that lockdown has aged the brains of teenagers prematurely but what if that were to become a blessing? What if they were the beginning and only the beginning of 40 is the new 40? The end of 90 is the new 62? What if they were to lift us from the velocity of an aging and infantilised world into the achievements of the future?

RE: if you were God??????

Probably nothing. Rejecting the powers of a god is at least one reason why I opposed lockdown, the other reason being the law of unintended consequences. I wouldn't want to disturb the chemistry because if the world did get any better we'll be looked back on as hideous buffoons. Every generation is waiting to be shown that it is an idiot by the next. Time will show the children we remain.

RE: The stigma of Perfectionism...

And you think of the first creature to crawl on land, the first man to walk upright, and they must have looked like a complete mong. And even now we carry in us a lot of things we don't need - like wisdom teeth. Evolution has to work with what it has if you looked at the world, the environment we live in the human being is NOT how you would design him to be he is only a variation of what came before. No one's thought about evolution, it just happens.

RE: Predictions...

I predicted that the gym would be relatively quiet, and when I got there I was right. Only the sad gits go on a weekend.

RE: Do we get what we give?

We are coming now into the age of nobility where the reason to do the right thing is on your honour be it. Which involves working twice as hard for half the pay. There's no incentive to work or to do right other than to feel proud really of what you can endure.

RE: Do we get what we give?

That was the 1990s where we got considerably more than we ever gave. Inheriting a position from our ancestors so big that we couldn't fail. Well, not couldn't fail exactly but certainly defer failure to whoever is unfortunate enough to come after.

RE: would you work in the gun industry?

RE: would you work in the gun industry?

In a fair fight power would go to the roughest members of society with the least to lose. The polite classes taken down in a second unless there is some way to win a fight it wouldn't naturally win. And that way is weapons and armour, battle tactics and coordinating of your forces so that a inherently weaker group remains on top.
