RE: How can we recognize a Narcissist?

Another feauture of narcissism is its hold over women, especially depressed women who like to be treated badly. And men don't help. Women receive attention so easily and cheaply that this not only heightens their own narcissism, but gives her a love of bad boys who keep their feet on the ground. The bad boy is a male narcissist with the charm to get away with it, and especially depressed women who want to put in a mountain of effort for no more than a blip of approval. The narcissist is if nothing else difficult to please.

RE: How can we recognize a Narcissist?

Chances are it'll destroy the world. The problem with narcissism is that no matter how nice and privileged you make a place narcissism will take it for granted, you wonder why 18 stone Americans who have ruined an empire and imploded in debt can talk about personal responsiblity this is because of narcissism. To perform so poorly whilst sustaining such a great level of perfectionism is the narcissistic way; Americans don't forgive mistakes even though they are one, a massive one.

RE: How can we recognize a Narcissist?

Perfectionism - particularly the idea that others must accord to a perfect standard when you yourself do not.

The 1% - a rare breed over and above humanity demanding to be admired a such.

Lack of accountability - it's never my fault. Which is what undermines the perfectionism of a narcissist, the true perfectionist needs to be his own harshest critic whereas the narcissist is less interested in being perfect than appearing perfect. Pefectionism proper acknowledges its own mistakes perhaps too much.

Individualism and being entranced by your own uniqueness. Collectivist cultures such as those in the far east, eastern and central europe score lower in narcissism. America goes through the roof remember the driving spirit of capitalism is keeping up with the Jones - pure narcissism.

RE: What truly turns you off - Part 2

The centre might be superior to both sides although that's not a very fashionable thing to say. Gently does it was the British way in domestic politics and we're still here - no country has been more stable than Britain, no empire has ever been larger, and no people have ever been better at politics - and the hallmark of greatest generation politics was compromise where baby boomer tribalism has brought nothing but shame over how we live today.

RE: Be honest.... Did YOU take care of yourself?

What if she’s 20 before he’s 32?

RE: Be honest.... Did YOU take care of yourself?

We could force them and I do believe we’re heading towards a man with a plan society where your career would be ruined by defying this man.

Goodspeech controlled speech but we are developing into a society where political correctness is insufficient. A new political correctness is rising which extends beyond the realm of language and into your thoughts and deeds.

RE: Be honest.... Did YOU take care of yourself?

Not if she’s had a difficult relationship with her stepfather.

RE: Theft... I’m from the government and I’m here to help.... Socialism Explained

And of course I’m defining socialism as it is regarded in the neoliberal era - any form of public morality. We live in an era where a president acting as a good role model for kids is a progressive cause and we don’t know what happened to the pre-1980s and his moral majority. Socialism today is basically any position which acknowledges other people exist. Obviously right-wingers of the past were not socialist but they felt a need for some organisation and a certain desire to set a good example to others knowing that other people exist.

RE: Theft... I’m from the government and I’m here to help.... Socialism Explained

The machine is greater than the sum of its parts. Healthcare, infrastructure, army the government works best when organisation trumps private initiative. Cooperating together against a larger threat such as cancer or an invading army works better than every man for himself. Even The Highway Code is an example of common sense imposed upon society by the government although only the really autistic sociopaths from the right complain about being made to wear a seatbelt.

RE: Women and men.....marriage.....

If the wife has money of her own she couldn’t get his and if she has a proper career it should be 50/50 with the kids. Only more domesticated women should get the kids as a rule, the model feminist woman shouldn’t be considered an indispensable parent.

RE: Do You Think That A New Relationship Can Withstand,Ex'es, Being Part Of Your Partners Life!

It depends why he’s involved and how involved he is. Is he a nice guy father of her kids or is he some cocky git living in her apartment rent free?

RE: Have you ever told someone you loved them...

Just before realising I was saying it out of habit when a habit has become the last thing she is to me. Right on the cusp of noticing how much of my free time is actually dedicated to avoiding her.

RE: do u believe in second chances

Yea, maybe. If after a substantial amount of time there was still a remnant of feeling and a reason to believe it would work out differently.

RE: Orange Juice - No Pulp or Pulp ??

In the wake of Sunny D things could only get better in the world of fruit juice. You have to question the kind of rock bottom society that created Sunny D.

RE: Which social issue is going to be the hottest in 2018?

A poorer generation that fought wars is coming to the foreground. Culture wars losing ground to class politics, pizzagate and LGBT+ sidelined by pocketbook issues. A momentum building against austerity and the wealth divide, also this heatwave is making people think about climate change as a bread and butter issue.

RE: Your job or the love of your life.

Don’t even have to think about it, it’s the job. Work is my favourite thing in the world.

RE: What is ur trick to atract some.....

You say the machine would have the urge to manipulate when I say it's you who has this. Without irony you have a thread titled "what is your trick to attract" in which you complain about the manipulative urges of a neutral apparatus.

RE: What type of wrist watch to do prefer?

There isn't one accessory I particularly like when it's for men. Belts, man bags, sunglasses, watches, none of these things mean very much to me. Men are best when they approach life prop free.

RE: What truly turns you off - Part 2

When you just hope you could be mates for a while, but they won't stop because they can't stop.

RE: Most respected occupation?

The envy of my friends is Glyn because he’s in the SAS.

I don’t tend to respect the armed forces very much, in the modern world the army is a mercenary army for people who love violence and picking on the little guy. But I’ll make an exception for the SAS, you don’t get in the SAS by being a scumbag and they’re really sticking their neck out like the soldiers of old.

RE: How much do u cost to maintain.....

Brexit will effect my maintenance costs too but it’s unclear how and to what extent.

There’s every chance the result of hard Brexit will be lots of browner immigrants coming in from outside the EU and less quality control at the border. Now that China has evolved into something strong the old forces look for a great new field of sweatshops to be opened up believing that if they sweat the people’s of the earth brutally enough they can consume their way to success. Doing so would most probably produce a roaring 2020s until it all blows up in our stupid face.

RE: How much do u cost to maintain.....

Do I include my share of the national debt and the cost of servicing it?

If you discount the landlord and the older generations debts then yes I’m an inexpensive person to keep.

RE: How much do u cost to maintain.....

Spend very little on healthcare and the NHS is remarkably efficient. If I got cancer it would cost less to treat than in any other system in the world.

The sticking point is housing. There are two types of people in Britain those who own property and those who don’t own property and in reality my maintenance costs are not mine they are the rent-seeking behaviours of a grossly inefficient housing market. Labour carries the property owning class in this country and their expenses are passed down to us.

On a personal level I cost little to maintain. The value of consumer good I consume is relatively low and the portion of my income not expropriated by a landlord and his Thai bride is saved for investments.

RE: Help an insomniac

I’d tell you the story of England’s first public weigh bridge.

RE: Have you ever told someone you loved them...

There’s the classic get out - I love you but I’m not in love with you but it’s much more true to say I don’t love you anymore and I’ve been lying these last few days/weeks/months/years.

I hate it when people break somebody else’s heart and try to evade the guilt on a technicality. If you’re going to hurt people have the courage to acknowledge what you’re doing and the ego to spare to look like a bad guy. You are the bad guy and breaking hearts and leading people on should make you feel bad. I love you but I’m not in love with you is a line which makes baby Jesus cry, Pontius Pilate said it right before they crucified him.

RE: why are women so eager to get on their knees

Atoning for their sins

RE: What truly turns you off - Part 2

Other nations/people don’t properly exist in this jealously possessive adolescent love affair. It’s us against the world.
