RE: Is it more fun today to drink at home alone?

Any by 2098 I expect the global population to fall beneath one billion. Each individual will be a brain in a glass jar placed inside a 50 foot metal cube. How's that for social distancing? And this is what happens if we are content with things as they are. If the momentum of today goes uninterrupted we will all be brains in a jar

RE: Is it more fun today to drink at home alone?

But at least people seem to be rejecting that picture of an eye on a stalk. Zuckerberg's Meta is tanking, it's lost almost $40 billion he's sacked thousands of staff because the eye on a stalk is premature. Have another bash in 2028 when people will be ripe for living vicariously through an avatar. The species is for the moment too human, the eye on the stalk freaks us out therefore Meta goes bankrupt

RE: Is it more fun today to drink at home alone?

What we do today is show people a picture of an eye on a stalk and say if you're lucky one day that could be you. Expect the unexpected? Tales of the unexpected more like

RE: Is it more fun today to drink at home alone?

But what the weaklords don't anticipate is an autistic gen z whizz kid with the technical know-how to hack their Daleks. Deactivating the human race physically does not necessarily mean the weaklords can rule for 1000 years.

RE: Is it more fun today to drink at home alone?

Which goes with legalizing weed. Marijuana makes people feeble and not able to put up much of a fight - like Poland.

RE: Is it more fun today to drink at home alone?

You can take from this the understanding that the weaklords have no interest in a humanity able to do things in the real world. All their eggs are in a basket of a robotic future with human development almost irrelevant if everything that needs to be done can be automated. This is what's happening.

RE: Is it more fun today to drink at home alone?

People were becoming more of a her indoors even before the lockdown, lockdown was an acceleration of prior trends towards isolation. Cripplingly shy and self-conscious can be the only thing to come from the internet. We are ruled by the weaklords and all posterity will become more of a her indoors. The weaklords have taken the first word out of toddlers mouths which will contribute further to the debilitating shyness.

RE: Is Global Warming really happning?

For the moment all we've got is the guilt-ridden new age baby boomers who plan to sell us down the river, and the other baby boomers whose response to that is to simply lie and pretend climate change is not happening. Neither response will do. It is real but we are not that guilty, other lands are more guilty than we are precisely because the modern world fell from the sky, precisely because they're the greatest get-rich- quick scheme history has ever known.

RE: Is Global Warming really happning?

Anyway once the guilt of how easy life once was has passed away we will remember that the modern world with all its power and might never did land in our laps. Instead it was built by people who faced tremendous odds again and again and what is good for the goose is good for the gander. There can be no advance to Mayfair, the modern world must built there in the same spirit way that it was built here.

RE: Is Global Warming really happning?

And why does the fact the west grew up the hard way mean we owe the rest of the world a living? They already have the chances we never did like the opportunity to go from third world to first in a generation. People in the western history suffered enormously to get where we are today. Why should the rest of the world advance to Mayfair at such cost to the environment?

RE: Is Global Warming really happning?

Yes, I believe it is. But at the same time net zero in the west feels like rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic. Why not protest the burning of coal in Asia? Why should we be made to wait whilst their standards of living are lifted? Why shouldn't they gradually and painfully drag themselves out of the feudal darkness like our ancestors did over the course of generations? Why are they on a fast-track course to modern consumerism?

RE: Precautions to be taken in relationship/marriage

Exceptions exist. If you find your soulmate you can be as fat and unemployed as you like which is perhaps why it's best that most people never do find their soulmate. And obviously there's a small minority that really needs to gain weight, and another minority where getting the sack could be the best thing to ever happen to you. In real terms that job was holding you back.

RE: Precautions to be taken in relationship/marriage

Losing your job and gaining weight.

Gaining a job and losing weight.

RE: What is the thought that woke you up this morning?

Something my stepdad always used to say - life's not fair but neither's Frank Bruno's backside. I awoke with my customary sting of injustice before the useless consolation that nothing can be done.

RE: gender advantages and disadvantages

Less than there once was. The clothes wash themselves in the machine, your car diagnoses itself, and the kids pretty much raise themselves under Siri and in the schools. Playing to our strengths is basically defeated by industry. Pretty sure it's actually illegal for a man to carry more than 25kg in a productive way, no you have to do at the gym in a simulation of manhood, a manufactured manhood that ain't real.

RE: Is Marriage no longer necessary?

Only if there's a local community to pile in and make sure you stay married for the good of the town and you.

RE: I dream of waking up next to.....?

All the more reason to spend it, spend it fast with neither wisdom nor charitable giving

RE: Laughing WITH me, or laughing AT me? What do you think?

Very clever plan and I'll bet you did it beautifully. The classic damsel in distress

RE: Sunday Roast

For your next trick I wanna see you balls up tea and toast

RE: Laughing WITH me, or laughing AT me? What do you think?

This was no accident, you tripped deliberately to attract attention from these young men, didn't you?

Johnny Cash. Big Iron

Bruce Springsteen. Streets of Philadelphia

RE: point of view

Change track about situations but what about CS? It's worse than a bunch of kids but it doesn't mean they are a bunch of kids there's just something in this environment that causes people to behave this way. Something to do with never having to look anybody in the eye. I'm sure we'd get on better in person because this is simply a bad environment.

RE: point of view

Stealing is wrong unless it is to feed your starving family. Breaking into someone's house is wrong unless the house was on fire and they're screaming for help through a smoke-filled window.

RE: point of view

Certain things are open to interpretation - you say potato, I say potatoe - and other things are made right or wrong by the situation, thou shalt not kill unless being chased by a madman with a knife.

RE: What are the signs of intuition?

None I reckon. I feel normal and then suddenly not for reasons that may or may not become apparent later. It's like there was someone watching over you who fears the right things

RE: Guy Fawkes

All I've been hearing is that Guy Fawkes was a deeply misunderstood man, a man with the right idea over 400 years ahead of us.

RE: Emotional intelligence

And that brings me back to cats and dogs. Tell a dog to sit and it sits, you don't have to be clever with it and you don't have to allow for any will of its own, the emotionally intelligent cat is liberal you do have to be clever with it and even then there's no certainty. It's not going to be a well-controlled environment at the best of times which is exactly what the emotionally unintelligent want - a charismatic strongman from the far-right who restores order to the chaos, they want him and they want a dog. Authoritarianism and specifically right-wing authoritarianism is the preference of stupidity.

RE: Emotional intelligence

And if someone is an emotionally intelligent person is an unintelligent question to ask. There's only one thing most people are going to do with a label like "emotionally intelligent" and that's claim it. Better not to name it and just describe what it is and what it does(both good and bad)and then see who wants to claim it.
