RE: what a cheek.

Always the same story in Britain - lions led by donkeys!

We the people make the best arrangements, have the best gas industry and the best green industry as far most of Europe is concerned, but we're still led into oblivion by our rulers. In France they riot if you put the price of cheese up, people in French authority have their heads separated from their bodies using a guillotine.

RE: Are You Turning To AI Robots For Love?

What does anybody need an emotional soldier for? To disobey orders and put a bullet in the commander?

No, to be a machine is exactly what life in the military is building to. And that machine is not going to be generation z. Could you imagine a gen z stood outside Buckingham palace for hours on end in complete silence? It's going to have be a robot.

RE: Vocal Fry

I mean it's mostly a thing for American teenagers who have all the fast-food culture of instant-gratification, with almost none of the work. It's a situation analogous to the woman on a date, and not a very good date.

RE: Vocal Fry

And I reckon the dating game has a hand in this. Imagine if you could read most people like a book, and not a very good book, how blase you'd become then?

But blase is vulnerable to the things it can't have. And sensitive when she can't quite figure out what you meant by that. I think vocal fry is the blase of a culture deeply impacted by convenience. You are kind of jaded and spoilt, spoilt by luxury itself, but profoundly self-conscious at the same time.

RE: Vocal Fry

It shows up in men and women but I think it's much harder for women to live in this world. Women are more evolved for deep relationships with other people in a society where the majority of people you meet, you already know. They're evolved to be much more suspicious of anyone they do not know already, evolved to read deeper into slight and insults.. as the people twice as likely to be suffering from anxiety disorder, their main aim is to appear not to be suffering from anxiety disorder. The lady doth protest too much, me thinks

RE: Vocal Fry

On the one hand we live in an extravert world that is on the other hand socially crippled. A product of this is to wear such deliberate disguises in a caricature of not caring. People are not at all relaxed that's the whole point. Social cripples in an extravert world that requires you to be totally at ease with strangers, and completely divorced from familiars, whilst being uncomfortable in your own skin at the same time.

RE: Anyone Taking Medication Should Have A Look At This

Sounds plausible. Yesterday I was saying that you shouldn't drink soda if you want the taste buds of a normal human being, the same could easily apply to gut bacteria.

RE: Express love?....

And through it all she offers me protection, a lot of love and affection, whether I'm right or wrong.

RE: Gut feelings.....

There'll be some of that. Probably more of that from Russia than there is from China, for more reasons than one. China can do things that Russia cannot and the Chinese can live more like North Koreans than the Russians can. You could be forgiven for believing that in the far east we are dealing with not humanity but an advanced race of extraterrestrial insects.

RE: Blocked Regions

And yet I want to make this point. The western world is not as creatively dead as our music would have us seem, pop music had its heyday from the 1960s to 2000 and if you judge us by pop music you will be disappointed. The west is not as dead as our radio and television. There are new ways, there is new life, you're just looking in the wrong places, the places where you used to find creativity.

RE: Blocked Regions

Egypt is a socially conservative patriarch that clashes more than anyone with our western world where the tail wags the dog. A society that's gone beyond science and just believes in making life as counterintuitive as it possibly can. Experimented so much where each new attempt to be different is more freakish than the last. Video games are creative, the new industries have this ability to create new ways, but what's established in the west is a dying freak without exception. The liberals don't have any ideas other than making it exceptionally difficult to be a normal human being.

RE: Share What You're Listening To

Chopin. Nocturne

RE: weather and romance

Winter. Romance is a light for when all other lights go out. It's freezing in winter, we could do with a cuddle.

The summer without air conditioning is more like Africa. If you don't get away from me now I'm going to make a canoe out of your skin wearing your nuts as earrings.

RE: Gut feelings.....

And I don't consider it a coincidence that Putin is today supported most by the Americans who went beyond the Appalachians. The same America that rejects the melting pot, the nation of immigrants, and the freedom of religion wishing to replace this with an orthodox church and a mountain of a man talking a continent of common sense.

RE: Share What You're Listening To

Sea Shanty. Leave her, Johnny

RE: Gut feelings.....

By the sea is what caused us to be open-minded and it'll look like our brains have fallen out from the perspective of Russia's deserted forests and neverending steppes. English itself is such a practical language, a business language where I think the frozen steppes are for groups of people incomprehensible to those outside. That leans towards the hills have eyes, ways that make sense only to itself.

RE: Gut feelings.....

4000 years is a long time. You know what I think makes western Europe a little different, the disproportionate influence of coastlines down the ages. The coast is more than the natural place to have a border the sea is also great way to trade and exchange cultures and ideas, perhaps almost because the nation is secure in itself in its territory. It makes us think like coastal elites.

RE: Backfires

We need a compromise that doesn't rub diversity in the face of pensioners and council estates. Or we'll go back to the days where we pray for a sane king. And I would rather a king over a charismatic strongman from the far-right. A king might know what wrong is, is more likely to know what wrong is

RE: Backfires

We get a bit of justice when doing wrong can be made to backfire through the separation of powers. But doing this is expensive and inefficient and it's kind of remarkable that the west lasted as long as it did. It's a lot cheaper and simpler when society is ruled by the force of one man, let him get on with the job and look at the shiny, shiny.. is it not precious?

RE: Backfires

You mean in the next life?

There is no justice in our lifetimes, Pedro. There is simply the power to enforce your will over those who do not have the power.

RE: Say Anything

Imagine all the people
Livin life in peace
You..

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

RE: Friends.....???

No, but it helps if at least one of them is a gay. You must not try to sleep with them, to try not to sleep with them is not enough. By the time you're able to control yourselves you'll be too old to make real friends anyway.

RE: independent happiness

In fact there would be no necessity for a war to flush away the golden turds if we could all spend the next 240 hours in complete silence eating lentils and rice and so much brown toast that white bread becomes the dessert, when white bread feels like a treat then we'll have the balance of the world and sanity in the affairs of mankind.

RE: independent happiness

And it doesn't have to epic things like wars and generational fortunes, but ten days on a Buddhist retreat losing your pampered mind will give you a newfound appreciation for the things that are really there. Ten days that go beyond boring and into something much more like patience and serenity, ten days to reset how spoilt we become.

RE: independent happiness

But to complicate things just a little more I also believe in the bizarre euphoria that comes from overcoming the worst of times. I watch videos from the 1960s and 70s and we can see how free and happy the people were, but the origin of that was the men and women who survived the 1930s and 40s. They were the people with the power to create happiness where the most privileged people ever to have lived bring nothing but shame over how we live today. Without the bizarre euphoria of those who have overcome the worst of times, the country is a write off.

RE: Red Flags

And to be honest one thing to cling onto is the low testosterone of our aging population. That should curb the excesses of war and dictatorship the problem is more the other way, if we were invaded we could rely on them to do absolutely nothing like a woman. We can rely on western people to catfight and backstab rather than die in a war.

RE: Gut feelings.....

And don't get me wrong I quite like Dino but things can't carry on like him. We overrespect a womanisibg pisshead loser like the decadent fools we are.. the time has come now for people who can do things in the real world, before it's too late.

RE: Gut feelings.....

It's not gut feelings that will save Britain from becoming like Putin's Russia, it's thinking about things really hard until it hurts. Do you think we can make it? We need to really think about renewables and who our trading partners are, how do we apply ourselves from here? Civilisation can lose in a way that it did before all our lifetimes, like it did in the 1930s and 40, to lose now is not to be fine anyway to lose this day is to face oblivion.

RE: Gut feelings.....

And the gut feeling of the triple locked pensioners will be "if you've done nothing you've got nothing to worry about" not quite appreciating the failed hatestate of Wayne Couzens rUK that they live in today.

RE: Gut feelings.....

One example of the Putin within are the calls now to reinstate the death penalty. Everything's decaying, British police make the mafia sound like righteous nice guys, and the courts don't work anymore.. so let's bring back hanging.

And it's funny because logically the death penalty should go with a justice system that's proper. But that's not how it works. As life gets harder people don't care who is innocent or guilty and that's why they support the death penalty. Ironically it's when all verdicts are unsafe that people call for the death penalty. It's not based on evidence, but the gut feeling the rage and the anger.
