Rob the grey heron is a nasty creature. I raise koi and they clean out about half my crop, but the damn otters are even worse if they come around. There is a grey heron rookery near my farm and they nest in trees together, with dozens of nests and 4-6 babies in each in the early Spring. And they are quick to take flight if they know you are watching them. Also they hunt day and flight and can fly in after dark. They are big impressive birds but I could live without them. I like the white egrets. They don't come near as often, I see heron everyday. No shortage of predators in the country.
