Trish - You could travel by National Express Coaches from Man central to London Victoria and from there anywhere else -

For instance If you wanted a weekend in Thanet at a decent hotel here in Broadstairs Nat EX coaches run every hour to and from here to LDN Vic Coach station every day.

The full journey from Man at 0930 until arrival in Broadstairs at 1800 ish is done in two bits and is about £54 RETURN fare and that is a damn sight cjheaper than rail

The time is not a lot greater by coach either in your case.
I checked that journey out for an ex RAF mate who lives in Manchester and he came and stayed at the Fayreness Hotel Kinsgate back in the summer over a week end because he wanted to specifically go to the Spit and Hurri museam and the other one at RAF Manston and the BoB museum at Hawkinge, nr Folkestone so he came for a week and we went to Biggin and others.

So don't give up that easily asits defeatest

This is the truth and is followed by a true story.
Before my late wife retired she worked for the Gestapo (DSS) for 38 years and always toe'd the official Civil Service line. She was a CO then EO but reverted to being a Specialist management typist doing highly confidential work that she could not even discuss with me. I am way up higher than section 2 of the official secrets list anyway through my contacts and trade - (See occupation on Profiel)

Four years prior to retirement all the personell based at the Ramsgate and Broadstairs offices (Well over 200) were interviewed for their own jobs by the private company who were set to take over vary confidential details of all claimants. B Liars's NEW labour Know alls implemented it after it had been set up by the arrogant Major's Tory turds previous to 1997


There was s very serious breach at central records which invlved both local offices holding at least 100,000 confidential client and family details within 4 months when they went AWOL

The CPSA and Management predicted it would happen if the private firm took over but it was hidden from all but a few outsiders then.

Brown and B liar and their incopetent prats at the top must therefore take ALL blame for what wnet on then and is STILL happening now, and for not making sure it all went back into proper hands where national security and confidentality are critical. The private cultur is too unbusiness like and far too casual, but I cannot see the Lib Dem happy clappy poofs and morons club or Cameron's crew of equally arrogant Oxbridge parasites doing it.

May I suggest you visit Edinburgh before you leave by your method of choice - Its a wonderful place and take the city tour too as that is so educational.

I want to go there again someday having been there three times so far and watched the Military tattoo.

Point 2. Having been a part time pro musician for 43 years (druummer who reads) and ben booked to play for some well known entertainers for caberet, I say with absolute certainty they would never have been booked for many big charity functions a second time if they used it in their act.

They were professional enough to modify it unless the function stated a warning that it was an adult or BLUE act in the AD blurb up front and that, I believe, is still - Law in England & Waes.

Point 3 - Jim used to woirk the Winter Gardens in Margate and stayed at the hotel at which I was with a resident 4 peice. He came for a week every year back in the 1970/s and I worked with then and since. His act, Like Jim Davidson's can be very blue or straight but Tarby goes in mainly for all the family stuff and fills the places every time - so we will have to aggree to differ.

I too am surprised and Billy Connolly is so good and so talented that he really does NOT need to use the F words in his act when Bloody would do the job just as well.

The kids would not be so influenced into using F words either if so called celeb's were more articulate and controlled in what they say.

Many other famous and very well respected comics and entertainers do not feel the need for it and I don't think I have ever heard Tarby, Frank Carson, or Al Murray use it and there are three other favourites.

Not so Trish - I am an Agnostic and only part Jewish on my Mothers side from way back in the late 18th century when her Jewsih tailor ancestors came from Switzerland and set up two shops inj Whitecpale and St Johns Wood in London

We are about 75-80 miles East from the centre of London and average just under 2 hours from Victora on the Victoria - Ramsgate stopping trains.

What I said about property applies IF people consult the local estate agents
(some are not as good as others) and IF they are willing to accept advice from people who live here if they deign to speak to us.

Some who come *just looking* unfortunately do not even give us the time of day or any pleasantry so they can be discounted.

The more anglicised Americans I have come across all say its the comparative peace and pace of life here when they get out of London and SEE outside the box that appeals to them !!

We have a few that left London, travelled all around the UK by car and stayed at hotels or B& B's on advice. They saw sense, came this way, settled in East Kent as its still less expensive than anywhere around London within a 30 mile radius and even further and were happy to join inour ways so they are accpted and even more happy.

Others are not like I describe so about them I will make no comment

Must admit I have only seen Jerry Seinfeld a couple of times on our screens so I went on you Tube and took a deepere shufti at him and have to admit,
I like his stiff 'cos its bloody crazy and makes aything sitcom stuff we have at present look crap, apart from Little Britain which is hilarious. Mike

Ha - I, being a Council tax payer to KCC am no lover anfully entitled to lpoint this out as a classic example of deliberat misinformation

The fact is that the amount stated looks more emotive for politicians and media hype if it is presented to a gullible public as a monetary amount and looks far worse than it is.

That sum of 50M according to Southern News tonight, represents 10% of the total invested safely elsewhere. The KCC top brass to give credit have been qiuuickto respons and take action and are doing something positive about it unlike others whoknew it was coming but have done nothing since they discovered the Governments tax payer funded rescue operations.
