As I see it and assuming your lady is in agreemnent and can possible assist, I think you should firstly consider getting a reasonably price flat sorted out in Pisa or nearby to give you a *billet* there as your immediate prority.
Next - If you can afford both I suggest - Keep the UK base and sub let it to someone whom you KNOW is rent reliable. If it's allowable in the tenancy agreement.
Then - Just concetrate on a trade job or another suiitable to you in Italy.
My Biking history is confined - I never held a licence for the road BUT I raced Three sprint bikes in the early/mid 1960's at the Ramsgate and Brighton Speed trials - Standing quarter mile. Thet was when the working classes had the oipporunity to use our skills and initiative alongside george Braown and Alf Hagon - read about them and they mentored us.
That was before the *authorities* politics and socail wirkers interfered and spoiled the whole thing for all of us and banned them from both places despite the tice yearly events attracting business for local businesses even fron Europe. We believed then and I still do that political corruption and freemasonry had their parts to play in it.
Mine and my Fitter/welder oppo's bikes were 250cc two stroke Excelsior Talsiman twins. I increased the comp ratios to 14:1 and we ran them on Dope on the advive of Alf Hagon - TYhey had NSU Quickly tanks, Gas pipe bars and only one brake (Rear drum) ina bloody big wheel and tyre. The front wheel was a token gesture - a smaller one like on a moped, so they were NOT legal at all, ousr arses were stuck in the airs and they were voody unconfortable having ony a cycle set tyo keep the weight down - They scared the crap out of us but - Nicely when we recorded just under 12 seconds regulalrly all thanks to Alf who we nearly always maneged to set up next to for his banter and help that was a great reward and Alf even took mine up the track and got the same time so that real achievement.

What I will only say wihout detail is that I had made several contacts and could have planned a full day of activities for the punting nutters, and even recommend hotels which do B&B's hoping for more positive responses than I received, or what was said after my last comment.
