lol... yes, but this "video" gives you the information from "independant" sources and helps people along to be able to reference the information for themselves... Many, as you know, will dismiss it for/as "Spin" if they don't see the information/facts for themselves... Many others, of course, will do anything to avoid seeing the Facts because it will get in their way of "Feeling" they way they do, they can't be bothered taking the time to "reach an INFORMED opinion."
This is actually a new link, it has been reworked to get around the "copyright" excuse (see "Fair Use Act" via google and/or my thread here re: Burning Down The House)... So, it is back online, for now, for people to review until new excuse to pull it is dreamt up by Time Warner (which is in for more than $300k to Obama campaign)
Most of the clauses are just unenforceable mumbo-jumbo (to use another's terms). For example...
The "supposed" "Golden Parachute elimination"... The clauses "Cap" them to "reasonable and prudent"... Care to figure what that means?... NOTHING, of course... open to interpretation and thereby VAGUE and would not be enforceable... as if they would try to enforce it anyway... The only way it would be of any value would be 1. A FORMULA that factors the NET WORTH of the entity, length of service of moron on way out, profit/loss during time served (if loss, then clown should receive ZERO, of course), etc... 2. Defines an actual enforcement agency... SEC or Congress directly (pick a committee, of course they will NOT ever hold themselves accountable and up for scrutiny of the General Public being able to review their Congress-person's voting record on how they enforce, or lack-thereof, these "Golden Parachute" packages)... etc... I think you get the point
Really, I don't have the time or the interest to go into all the countless specifics of why this is a steaming pile of .... well, you get it.
They've desperately tried to cover up the how/why we got here...
After 1.2 Million views, Time-Warner (which has given Obama in excess of $300,000) pulled the video citing "copyright" issues; despite countless other videos using musical scores appropriately under the "Fair Use Act" (you can google that one too). It has been re-scored and posted again... What will be their excuse to try and pull the truth from your eyes this time?!?!
Caught a RedEye flight back and still feeling Jet-lagged days later...
Never been one to shy away from difficult (non-traditional even) tasks, and this fell into that category... Perhaps if the time-frame would've been longer (planned/scheduled for 12 months or more out) it may have had a better chance of working, but I was ready to have a vacation and thought a few more folks would be actually wanting to get-together (silly me)... This daunting a gathering will not be so novel or daunting for the next folks who undertake such a project...
I so buffet ate myself to oblivion... Good thing the Airline didn't weigh me in for the return flight as I would not have been able to afford the "excess baggage" charge for the expanded-waistline... lol
Was great meeting those of you that actually joined (and sorry we missed those that attempted but were unable to come across us)... While the meeting points made for greater potential for merriment, it was definitely not the easiest to identify each other (sticking with BBQ's is certainly easier)...
I have been computer silent since getting here... There were a couple of us here (There) at the CasBar at about that time (and i did have on my Flag shirt) and we tried to keep our eyes pealed for others... Sorry we missed, but we were there listening to the band...

First, I understand that it may seem strange/awkward to some that someone from out-of-town is planning this GT in Vegas - which is why I'm still looking/hoping for a local resident to co-sponsor (so that we can provide this to be a Locals GT, not just events for out-of-towners). If you volunteer your yard for a BBQ, I (as I'm sure others) will pitch in for food/pop so we can incorporate the more "traditional" BBQ event as part of this overal GT; so everyone (especially the ladies - remember, bring a friend if you need to) feel more at ease (the "bring a friend" obviously holds true for this or any GT/Event) .... Anyway....
Wear Red??? (or a Dr. Suess hat if you can find one lol)
Still hoping someone volunteers backyard for BBQ (Sat. 7/26 - after we could all go up to Sahara POOL)... I'll buy some Hamburgers/Hot-dogs!!
Recognizing fellow CSrs at these Events... Since members will meet up with others at diff. times & varying locations; not just easily showing up to a backyard of a house for BBQ, these places may be crowded; we need a method by which to recognize fellow CS members...
Not likely we are going to memorize everyone by their CS pics. The easiest, of course, will be if people consider purchasing a CS Shirt to wear to the events. Others suggest, everyone wear a Red shirt (if you're not wearing a CS shirt, or a Flag print like me [choose any Nation], consider that [Red Shirt] option. You might want to consider printing off the Sign-up page (pictures portion) which will provide an easy one page (or so) reference sheet of people on list - to this end, please ensure you have a good head-shot for your main pic so if/when people do this they will have a good image to go by.
If you've been in Chat, or just by stopping by the Vegas thread, you're used to seeing my main pic, so - I will be planning on wearing what you'd expect. I'll pack my Flag print T-shirt for the casual Thu and the Polo (as seen in the pic) for Fri; yes, I have several different ones; as I will be more dressed up for the Show Fri night and since Strat Lounge has a Dress code.
I could (as we were joking in Chat) temp-dye my hair bright Red. I could, but I won't (ex and I painted up our faces Blue to go to Blue Man Group years ago, but I'm not going to parade around looking silly in General Public - yes... go ahead... make the joke - "should look in the mirror" right? hardy-har-har).
If no-one volunteers their backyard or pool, time draws close plans need finalizing, I'll add a Sahara Poolside time so that everyone can let me know if they want to come up and enjoy the Sahara Pool area and I'll make sure to get you into the Pool area to cool off from the 110 (expected) heat of the Vegas Sat or Sun afternoon heat. Let me know.
If you have NOT ALREADY EMAILED me yet to let me know when (what days for events) you will be in/around Vegas, please do so, so I know who to really expect. I will be at the Sahara Hotel (702-737-2111), so you can contact me there (Joseph Lenard, no they won't know who YetAnotherUser is. lol) to let me know in advance what specific event(s)/outing(s) you plan on attending (or, Please let me know if you are no longer going to meet-up at a locale) so I know who we'll be looking for and give sufficient wait-up time for us all to gather points before wandering in to eat, a lounge, whatever the event (scheduled events listed in Intl. Forum Vegas GT thread, keep checking THERE to the end for additions/updates). People who provide me with a Cell phone contact number will get mine back in return (for easier communications).
Take care... looking forward to seeing as many CS members there as possible... Remember you can bring some friends or family along with you too...

Well, I may have exaggerated a tad but I prefer higher scoring games to Pitcher duels, which this has more or less been. It did really get me going in the extra innings here though. I'm wide awake now! not going to bed 'til this is over (now going into 13th).
Wow, this thing is currently in the middle of the 12th...
This game has about bored me to sleep several times and then, finally, some excitement now that extra innings had arrived...
10th - AL with bases loaded and NO outs.... 2 bouncers with throw outs at the plate and then a close play at first on a bouncer to third to end the inning...

from Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority... "Vegas Weekend" planning...
The ultimate Vegas weekend should start off with a reservation at the best restaurant in the hotel, as most great times are highlighted by a great meal. Make a point to linger over dinner. When done, head to the casino lounge. This is a marathon, not a sprint, and timing is everything.
You can get the best feel for Vegas this way. The casino floor bustles. It's a cacophony of sights and sounds, an energized hum you find yourself swept up in.
You can sleep in the next morning if you want; there's no rush. When you get up, take a walk along the Strip; in doing so, you'll be taking a walk around the globe and through several centuries. Take a thrill ride. You might see a few lions and a shark or two.
Don't forget to nap, as day blends seamlessly into night. Have an amazing dinner followed by a show, maybe some dancing afterwards. Or head back down to the lounge. Or to another show. Or to a nightclub or ultra-lounge with exclusive bottle service and ultra-groomed urbanites. It's ultra everything. You get the idea. Day two can start off much the same way, but you might not be sure what day it is. There are no alarm clocks, no wake-up calls, no appointment calendars. Which is precisely the point.
You may have lit it up the night before, but you'll still want to check out the town. Go to Hoover Dam, Red Rock National Recreation Area, and maybe, if time allows, Valley of Fire. Or, take half a day for a helicopter ride over the magnificent Grand Canyon. If you behaved yourself the previous night, you could try some golf, rock climbing or river rafting.
That leaves one more night on the town. One more adventure. One more evening of unlimited possibilities.
Vegas, baby. Vegas.

Show Review (Vegas.com) [editted for space] Unmasking 'Phantom'
By Kristine McKenzie
When the Venetian resort announced it was spending $40 Mil. to design a custom-built theater for "Phantom - The Las Vegas Spectacular," (TLVS) audiences knew they were going to be getting a little something extra in this version of the popular Broadway musical. Even though the Las Vegas production has been enhanced, fans of the original will not be disappointed. Creator Andrew Lloyd Webber, director Hal Prince, choreographer Gillian Lynne and others from the show's original creative team helped develop Phantom - TLVS and pared the show from its original 2.5 hours down to one hour 35 minutes. Some dialogue and the intermission have been cut from the original, but all of Webber's well-known songs remain intact.
The things that distinguish the Las Vegas version of "Phantom" from its Broadway counterpart are elaborate new sets and special effects and the 1,800-seat theater, which is itself a spectacle.
Welcome to 19th century Paris
The Venetian employed renowned architect David Rockwell to design the Phantom Theatre, which took 11 months to build. The site, located in a space formerly occupied by the Guggenheim Museum, had to be completely excavated and the theater was built from the ground up.
Designed to closely resemble the Opera Garnier in Paris, the lavish Theatre features plush red seats and curtains, gold statues and carvings, a hand-painted ceiling topped with an 80-foot wide dome and opera boxes lining the sides. The opera boxes are inhabited by 70 colorful mannequins, which were built in Belgium and each one is completely outfitted in an authentic period costume.
The centerpiece of the theater is the chandelier, which weighs 2,100 pounds and cost $4.5 Mil. to create. The shimmering chandelier is comprised of 29,444 individual crystals that were hand strung.
In this version, the chandelier hangs in four pieces, which assemble in dramatic fashion during the beginning of the show. The spokes of the ceiling's dome support 32 cables that guide the chandelier into place and it takes 40 individual computers, complete with navigational software, to run the chandelier. During the show's climactic scene, the chandelier falls 45 feet in three seconds and stops only 10 feet above those seated beneath it - an effect that always causes a stir in the audience.
"The people sitting underneath feel the wind rush and some people scream … and I don't blame them," said Production Stage Manager Ray Gin. In addition to the customized theater, the production differs from the original with new sets, state-of-the-art technology and special effects.
Enhancement and modernization of the illusions throughout the show were developed in part by Jim Steinmeyer, who has also worked with David Copperfield.
The stage measures 60 by 50 feet - mammoth by Broadway standards. A special CO2 fog machine spreads dry ice 360 degrees around the stage to fill it quickly during the lake scenes.
Besides the 43 actors working onstage, there are 70 crew members behind the scenes making the magic happen and making sure everything runs smoothly including stunt people, wardrobe, makeup and wig assistants.

Some so mediocre I don't even recall, but some disappointing I do remember....
Older one (potentially worse film I've ever seen): Gone Fishing (Joe Pesci / Danny Glover)
A little more recent: Fracture (Anthony Hopkins)
... so many films that drag on seemingly endlessly ...
In Theaters now: The Happening while it is only 90minutes, it feels like 3 hours; while some suspense, it just doesn't really go anywhere; it turns out being just a propaganda film for ________ (ok, I'll not give that away)....
RE: Ammunition To Use Against the “New, Improved” Bailout Proposal
lol... yes, but this "video" gives you the information from "independant" sources and helps people along to be able to reference the information for themselves... Many, as you know, will dismiss it for/as "Spin" if they don't see the information/facts for themselves... Many others, of course, will do anything to avoid seeing the Facts because it will get in their way of "Feeling" they way they do, they can't be bothered taking the time to "reach an INFORMED opinion."And you certainly aren't going to see any of this information on the Communist News Network (CNN), PMSnbc, National Barrack Channel (NBC), etc...
