Extra things to look for ...

Lift up carpets to check state of floors underneath especially if wooden

Put your hand on "obviously" newly repainted walls to check if they feel damp (if in doubt check the feeling with other non-damp walls - might be different in USA but in UK damp can be a deal breaker)

If there is attic, check insulation

Find out if they have had central heating/aircon system regularly serviced ...

Drive around the area and house, in the morning, in the afternoon AND in the evening, week days AND weekend, and just look and listen, give you an idea of what the neighbourhood is like

Listen to your gut instinct and DONT reason with it!!!

Hahaha! For 16 years, I taught French and Spanish to kids aged 11 to 16, in the UK!!

I would say it ALL hinges on the expectations the teacher places on the kids! A lot of kids are able to surpass and achieve way above what is academically deemed "potential/projected grades". Methods and positive supportive attitude from the teacher are the key, I totally agree!!!

I think some people both male and female send out an enourmous amount of messages/flowers out just "from the photos" without checking the profiles, even if they say "I like your profile" it doesn't mean they have read it And then when they get replies they "pick" the ones they are going to "bother" with ...

My partner and I met on CS But NOT using the "method" I just described!!!

Yeah!! Someone used a microwave to dry their poodle after washing him ... and won compension for trauma in a court case against manufacturers because in the instructions it did not say "Do not use to dry pets" (or words to that effect)


Now, you will notice in the instructions of every microwave oven it mentions somewhere about NOT using as a hairdryer for pets!!!

Born in Spain
Brought up in France because my parents emmigrated there when I was one.
Went to UK when I was 20 to improve my English which I was studying at Uni and stayed for 27 years!!! I'm a slow learner!!!
After my kids flew the nest, decided to "do" Spain for the (probably) remaining years of my life Been living here for almost 6 months now!!

The spectre of it came knocking on my door in the Summer of 2006!!!

Glad to say it was not my time yet!!!!!

It tought me even more about values and "getting on" with what I wanted to do with the rest of my life!!!

Death will come when it does and in the mean time ... I value every day and what it brings me ... good AND not so good!!! All of it is beautiful!!! For me there is beauty in joy as there is beauty in sadness and pain. I'd rather FEEL EVERYTHING than not feel because I am dead to this world or just numb in my heart

No worries Claire!!! You won't!! No more than I will live in a mostly constant "state of negativity" and bitterness that my Mum carries around with her (she can't help it) after living with my Dad (who has always had an alcohol dependency problem) for 50 years ... They are still together and seem to both "feel" better now in their mid 70's but God it was many times hell for us kids!!! I sooooooooooooooo many times wished they would get divorced when I was growing up ...

To me she sounds like her mind is in "hell" ... she sounds unhappy and very very angry ...
IF she has not acted that way since he has known her, but something new, may be she needs to see a simple ordinary doctor and get her hormone balance tested ... could be she is having extreme hormone upheavel (may be due to the menopause) which affect the body and the mind. May be she is scared to death she "is loosing it" so is scared to talk to anyone in case they tell she is mad ... when simple hormone treatment would restore her balance


We only know "what she acts like" from his description ... but we don't know what "triggers it" ...

Did you know it was not in the script and Marlon Brandon "improvised it" for real, to the shock of the actress while the cameras were still rolling. She begged them to cut it off the film but the producer AND Brando (who had quite a lot of clout) refused ... I can't remember who the actress was but I saw an interview where she was describing what had hapenned ... She had to have therapy when the film was over being made ...

Apocalypse Now with Marlon Brando - Was in my early 20's with some friends in London cinema (at night) so couldn't walk out ...

The noise, the violence, the scenes made my little sensitive self feel sick ... my friends were too enthrawled to care ... spent most of film hiding screen from view and mutting the sound with jumper!!!

AI for me was soooooooooooo sad when ... well most of it!!

The 5th element!!! & Men in black!!! Too many good lines to remember!!!
