You brought the rain with you uh! It's funny, so many of my FB friends who live in Frisco were complaining because a heat wave has struck SF! Any time it gets over 26 C, they complain
You know your eyes light up when I come into these political threads. I always own you man, and you love to find innovative ways to checkmate me---which has never happened
I think you need to to back---Jack---and do it again. It's really hard to like somebody if you are not compatible with them. Even harder living with them
Ah, Islam or Christianity, what's the difference? They both have brought so much disharmony to our planet with their doctrines and the need to spread their religion and claim it as the "best and right" one. Neither are tolerant. Gosh, look at the struggle gays and lesbians went through because of zealot Christians and Muslims.
Anyways, so what are you really suggesting? Get to the point, paint out what is going to happen in your own words.
It's healthy to hear other perspectives, especially those that we don't agree with. He makes some great points in this clip, and he is being accurate since there will be no mosque at ground zero---it's a community centre. I saw some stories that you pasted were trying to convince us that there would be a mosque built
I see your point jvaski, and FOX is usually stretching things for sure. However, when somebody independently speaks, there are parcels of truth that come out---even on FOX
I don't watch FOX news to get their version of truth, I just like to watch it at times and see how they are presenting their news, and comparing it with other media on the other side of the spectrum.
You're right, people do need to make efforts to respect each other's religions and belief systems, and find some understanding. The First Amendment allows the liberty of "free exercise", and it's going to take a lot of courage for a lot of Muslims to now practice their faith in a "free society" since there will be problems in some parts of America. Anyways, there is no way America will become a Muslim nation lol, but we should have tolerance for their practice of faith in our country---that is a freedom of America. If something sketchy is going on, and can be proved, then the authorities will take care of it. President Reagan once said "Trust but verify!" in regards to the Soviets, and it wouldn't be a bad idea to monitor some places of Islam worship if the intel is there.
I posted a good article about this, and here it is again...
Again jvaski, I'm all for a new approach in foreign policy, and that is what Obama promised us, but I just don't approve of this guy promoting his doctrines and suggesting that political institutions consult Muslim religious institutions. That would encroach on the First Amendment, and the Separation of Church and State is paramount in a free society.
I don't mind criticizing some of America's ways and policies around the world, but in the same breath, we need sound solutions. This Imam offered no sound solutions imo. Bear in mind that Islam, has a cruel history of spreading its religion on our planet---like the other religion in the same branch---Christianity.
Well, can never say never, but the likelihood of this happening in America is really small. There would be a serious uproar and uprising---and it wouldn't be pretty.
I do see the big picture in my own way jvaski. I saw this video yesterday and just shook my head. I just would have gone with a different approach, but this approach will work as far as bringing up our deepest fears and getting everything out on the table.
RE: please won't you SAY SOMETHING?! Part dos
How long have you had that nanners?
