Too funny!! How much would you owe her for a McDonald's breakfast?? Although she DID keep harping on the fact that my orange juice was so much more expensive!! LMAO!!
Nope, no mountain. I just wanted others' opinions before I did anything. I'd pretty much already decided that the only way to handle this was to pay her. But people should never assume anything, ya know??
My closest friends & I do an annual "Shop, Shot, & Drop Day". We do a bit of shopping, then have a cosmo, then a bit more shopping, then lunch & another drink, then shopping, then... well, you get the picture!
I'm sorry, Solstice... I don't quite agree. Yes, including me was nice. I'll agree with that. But buying me something without even calling or texting to see if I'm interested in having something & then EXPECTING me to pay her for it... that's just assuming... & we both know what that does.
Yes, I did end up eating it... because I felt bad. And yes, I do intend to pay her. But I just think that is so rude on her part, to get me something I never asked for & EXPECT payment for it.
I give gratitude when it's warranted. I'm grateful when someone asks me if I want something, BEFORE requesting payment for something I NEVER ASKED FOR!
This morning my co-worker came into the office carrying breakfast for everyone from McDonald's. Apparently, she'd called & asked what they wanted, but hadn't called or texted me. However, she did bring me food & a drink. Now she wants me to pay her for it! First off, I really wasn't hungry & had my own drink. While I thought this was a nice gesture, she now expects me to pay her for it!! I mean, I can see if I'd ASKED her to bring me something, but I didn't even know she was doing it & never asked for it! Do you think I should have to pay her for it? If not, how should I approach her about it? After all, we DO have to work together. And she gets quite defensive when confronted. Please help!
What time is it on that beautiful island, Jeepers? I envy you! We had snow all day yesterday. Wet, sloppy snow. It didn't cover the roads, thank goodness!
It's almost 4 years ago (Dec 10th, 2005). We got a call from our step-father, saying it wouldn't be long. Mom had been suffering from emphysema for quite a while, fading in & out of lucidity.
We all went to her room & visited her. It was PAINSTAKING, watching her trying to come out of the semi-vegetative state she was in, stretching & such. We all talked to her, telling her we were here & that we loved her. Each time, she'd stretch as if to tell us she heard us & that she wanted to come out of the coma-like state she was in.
My sister, daughter & I decided to bring my grandson, Owen, into the room. We ran home, picked him up, & drove him to see his great-grandma. We said, "Mom, Owen's here!" On hearing that, she stretched & fell silent. We all left. About 20 minutes after I returned home, my step-father called to say she'd passed. I think she was waiting to say good-bye to each & every one of us, including my sweet Owen.
My poor daughter had just lost her paternal grandmother in September of that year, then to lose her maternal (& closer) grandmother, I felt so bad for her. She cried, "Tell her to come back!!"
Never does a day go by that I don't think of my wonderful mother & how she shaped my life & future. I will always thank her for that. And I miss her tremendously!
RE: WHAT CAN MAKE YOU VERY HAPPY ?
What would make me happy would be to go back to last year at this time. Things seemed to be much better then.
