Thank you all. This is one of the kindest, most loving women I know. I wish I could just hop a plane & go down to visit her. But as fate would have it, I can't right now. Please help me to cheer her up. He loved her with all his heart.
Hello all. I met Katani about a year ago on CS. At that time, she was on here under another name. We grew to be very good, close friends on here & over the phone.
She was fortunate to meet the love of her life a while back & marry him. They had a few wonderful months together before cancer took him away from her. She's been trying to be upbeat & cheerful, because she knows that's what he wanted from her. But she's really having a difficult time of it.
I'm asking you to say hi & maybe crack a joke or something... try to keep her spirits up. She's really down & needs friends rallying around her at this time. She's really a special lady who's been there for me when I've really needed her. Please help me to be there for her at this most difficult time.
1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.
2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.
3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.
4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.
5. How the heck are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?
6. Was learning cursive really necessary?
7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I’m pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.
8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.
9. Bad decisions make good stories.
10. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.
11. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten page research paper that I swear I did not make any changes to.
12. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring, but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What'd you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?
13. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day.
14. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.
15. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.
16. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay.
I just went through this with my ex-'best friend'. We were closer than siamese twins. People said we were connected at the hip. She knew all my thoughts & secrets, & I knew hers. Another so-called 'friend' came in the middle of us, started putting a bug in her ear, & she never trusted me after that. She flipped out on me one night, over a guy... that she liked & I had no desire for. She hit me, I hit her back & the rest is history. I'd NEVER hit ANYONE before in my LIFE! But I won't just stand there & take it either. We haven't spoken since.
I call them "disposable friendships" & I, for one, have no time or patience for them anymore. I have real true friends who've been there for me through good & bad, thick & thin. When times got rough, they were offering a shoulder to lean on or an ear to scream into. Those are my REAL friends.
I don't think the question was "Do natural blondes have more fun?"
I think it depends on the tastes of the individual. Yes, it seems many men prefer blondes. But many men also prefer brunettes, or red-heads, tall or short, slim or curvy... it just depends on one's preference.
I do, however, think that blondes have been getting a bad rap. Many portray them as shallow, ditzy, & dumb. Not always the case. I think that started with the Three's Company series & the character of Chrissy Snow (Suzanne Somers). She sure didn't do a lot to show wisdom & intelligence. Neither did Marilyn Monroe, IMO.
Did you ever see the movie, Prime, with Uma Thurman? Your statement reminds me of the part in that movie where he has visions of his grandmother hitting him over the head with a frying pan!
Thank you both. Yes, I have something MAJOR going on right now & was wondering who I should confide in. I have many good close friends on here whom I feel I can confide in. And of course, there's always my daughter, who knows me inside & out. My closest friends know just about everything about me. But when it comes down to brass tacks, who would I honestly confide in? That was what I was digging for. Who do YOU confide in?
I'm sorry SB. This was NEVER meant as a 'pity thread'!! I'm going through a very rough period in my life right now & was just wondering what others would do if they were me. Sorry you saw it that way. I, in NO way, am pitying myself! I brought this all on, nobody else to blame.
RE: What's your favorite drink?
Yes, I've seen you down them!I prefer Captain & Diet Coke or A good Dirty Girl Scout. They are soooo YUMMY!!!
